I have imported and processed photo's in Lightroom 2 and kept stored files on external hard drive. External hard drive crashed....how do I export photo's from Lightroom when it says 'file not found'?
Folders with photo files are lost due to external hard drive crashing. Processed photo's are still in LR. How can I export from LR to a file (any file) that no longer exists? Help!!!
Well, no backups, the technical term for that is "a problem". I think from this point forward, you need to commit yourself to making regular automated backups of all of your photos and catalog file to different physical disks, no excuses.
Your photos are not stored in Lightroom. However, Lightroom does create "previews", this is what you are seeing, but these are usually smaller and low-quality compared to the originals. There are plug-ins that can extract the previews from Lightroom. One such plug-in is here robcole.com - PreviewExporter

I have over 4000 songs from mine and my now ex gfs Mac. After the split I was unable to transfer her share of music to my new lab-top. I don't wanna lose my music but I can't buy all music again I've had this problem for so long. My iPhone hasn't been backed up or synced since May 2013 I don't wanna download illegals just to get music. I figure if it's in my phone now why take it off to put back in. iTunes or Apple needs to fix the sync process or allow tranfer of music files from Iproducts directly to the computer if I back it up will it transfer all music or is this a lost cause.
Now all my new apps as well as several others are gone from the iPhone.
Look on other screens. The 4.1 update ands Game Center to the home screen. If that screen was full it create a blank screen and moves one app from the home screen to the new screen to make room for Game Center. All the other screens are pushed back one place.
How can I get my apps back? It cost me a lot of time and money to discover those apps and get them onto the phone. Are they just gone now?
If they are really gone, you can download them again. You will not be charged again if you use the same iTunes account. -

Thanks much.You can use iTunes to convert any copy protection free songs in your library another format. When you convert a song in iTunes it will be converted to the format that you have set to import your CDs in. Converting creates a second copy of the song in the format you have chosen which gives you the opportunity to either keep or delete the original. If you are using iTunes 8 go to iTunes>Preferences>General and click on Import Settings,, Change your Import format to MP3 Encoder for example. Go back to your library and highlight the songs you want to convert and go to the Advanced menu at the top of your iTunes window and choose "Create MP3 version": iTunes: How to convert a song to a different file format
Click on the MP3 version you've created in iTunes to highlight it and drag it to your desktop to create a copy if you want to use it in another program or put it in another folder. -

If you followed the instructions in the support article exactly (leaving the machine off for two minutes), then it has a hardware fault. Take it to an Apple Store or other authorized service provider for repair.

How do I export photos back onto a camera SD card? I have created desktop files for the photos and the card, dragged photos to the card, but when I replace card in camera, it says "No valid photo to display". Your camera is not a general purpuose photo display system - it is designed to take photos, let you look at those photos and allow you to download them to your computer or other places - if you wnat to use it view photos then you have to put the photos in exactly the correct place with exactly the correct names or it will not see them
And this has absolutely nothing to do with iPhoto in any way - iPhoto sotres and proecesses yoru photos and allows you to export them - once you export them it is totally out of the picture - you can easily get photo prints by using the iPhoto print service, using an internet print service, burning photos to a DVD and taking them to a print service or putting them on a SD card and taking them to a print service - to view them on your camera you have to exactly reporduce what the camera is looking for - not at all sure what the pirnt even is

Take a look at my FindTracks script. Download it and test it out on a few tracks first. Use the No option first time around to manually confirm each path that it wants to fix so you can see how it works. When you're happy it does what you want select a larger group of tracks to process automatically.

I have imported my iPhoto library onto Aperture, and then deleted the iPhoto library so not to have any duplicates. Now, the images on Aperture are pixelated and when I try to export them the following message appears: "Unavailable master images cannot be exported.The selected master image is either offline or not found. Please reconnect it and try again." What does this mean? How can I get my photos "online" so that I can see them as they used to be?
How did you import your iPhoto Library? I assume, you used "File > Import > iPhoto LIbrary", but how did you set the "Store Files" pop-up menu?
If you chose to "Store Files in their current location", then you did not actually import the master image files into Aperture, but referenced them inside the iPhoto Library. In that case, you just deleted all your images, when you deleted the iPhoto Library. And if you did that, and your iPhoto Library is still sitting in the Trash, put it back; then your Aperture Library should work again. Or restore the iPhoto Library from your most recent backup and put it into the exactly same location where it used to be.
If you used a different "Store Files" setting, please explain where you have chosen to store the master image files. This will help to track down your images.
After restoring your master image files you may need to reconnect them to the versions. Post back, if you need help with that.

I would try the following, in order
Have your operating system search your entire hard disk(s)
If that doesn't find the files, restore from backup
If you don't have backups then perhaps you should consider making backups of both your catalog file and your photos from now on
Locate, download and install and run an "undelete utility" (freeware versions are available) -- if you are going to do this, do it immediately, do not perform other tasks on your comptuer -

Before you can decide what to do, you have to know what you are starting with. Sony MPEG-1 files would be converted one way while DivX or WMV files would likely be handled in another. Extraneous tracks can be removed directly with QT Pro but if you don't have QT Pro then there may or may not be other work around possibilities depending on the specific audio and video compression formats in use. The best place to start would normally be to double-clic the source file in iPhoto to open it in the QT Player. When it opens in the QT Player, check the "Inspector" window to see what it says on the "Format:" lines. This will tell you the type of audio and video content you are dealing with here. Then come and tell us so we can offer some specific conversion solutions. -

Hi guys. i have some problem with a link from a pdf on-line,when i click on it,the page adds a "%" at the and of the link and says "page not found" because of it.
This happens only when a load my pdf file on my server, because if i click on the link when the file is on my iPad, the page opens without problem.

thanxthe % sign is often used when there's a space in a name. HTML doesn't like spaces so it fills them with % or %20
try, on the end of that link, see if there's a space built into the page or the link when the page was made
On the web address you may be able to 'backspace' at the end and erase that space to get the address, but whomever made the page possibly put a mistake in the link -
When I close Firefox, the windows closes normally, but firefox.exe still appears in Processes in Task Manager. I have to End Process to open Firefox again, and it goes to Restore Last Session page.

I could also kill the process from the command prompt, but both of those methods are slow and annoying. This issue has only been occurring for the last 24 hours or so; to the best of my knowledge I haven't downloaded any new software or updated any plug-ins that would have caused a switch from firefox's normal awesomeness. Norton doesn't show any new viruses or other nastiness on my computer.

Speaking just for myself: although I do care about your success with software (it's why I'm here), I don't care what software you use. If you want to use Lightroom, do so, and post your questions in an appropriate forum.
Burning files to a CD is a file operation done at the system level (it is built into OS X). Aperture lets your create sharable image-format files from your Images. You then use OS X's tools to burn those files to a CD. Iirc, you can set up a "Burn Folder" in Finder, into which you can export files created from your Images, and with a single click burn your CD.
Naming the files you create by exporting your Images can be tricky. There are _many_ possibilities. Some things can't be done. Sequencing can be done in a number of ways (see Léonie's answer above). What have you tried? What was the result? In what way did this differ from what you expected?

I am not sure, which answer you found - so just in case:
If you sync your iPhone with the iPhoto library, the photos will only stay on the iPhone until the next sync and they are not in the Camera Roll. If you transfer using the Photo Stream, they will only be vidsible in the stream, until they are replaced in iCloud by newer content.
So, if you want to transfer the photos permanently, save them to the Camera Roll.
