Does anyone know the best way to create a form that you can do a mail merge with?
I have been asked to create a form that can be used to do a mail merge. At first I thought I could create it in indesign and then pdf the file and do form fields right in the pdf, but I'm not sure if you can do a mail merge with data in an excel file and a pdf file containing form fields.
The other option I know I could use is a Word file and excel, but I don't think the functionality is as good as in a pdf (like addition of percentages, or error messages, radio buttons, etc.). And I do need to be able to do a mail merge. Anybody have any suggestions?There is not built-in feature for this, but it can be done with scripting. The problem is it can be a bit complicated, and it more complicated to decribe in much detail in a forum posting. It involves creating the base form and making the pages templates. You can export from Excel to a tab delimited text file. You can then either programmatically create a template-based FDF that when loaded into Acrobat populates the PDF form, creating as many individual forms as needed, or using JavaScript in Acrobat to read the data file and generate as many individual forms as needed. Both approaches involve a similar amount of programming, but they're quite different.

iTunes match will only work from a computer in terms of uploading new content. You should be able to copy iTunes purchases back via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11). Is anybody else still not able to use the App Store? I can't download nor update any apps. I have an IPhone 5 device not currently updated to iOS 7 as my partner also has an iPhone 5 running iOS 7 and it seems to have some issues at the moment.

MacBook Air intermittently has issues connecting to websites when wireless shows connected to the internet. The pages show that I am offline, but I can ping Google DNS. Windows PC, iPhone and Android phone have no issue displaying the same web pages.How do I solve this issue?
Go step by step and test.
1. Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.
Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all the lights are lit properly. It will take a while.
Restart the computer.
Start up in Safe Mode.

2. Empty Caches
Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
3. Deselect Proxies if selected.
System Preference > Network > Advanced > Proxies Tab
Under "Select Protocol", uncheck any box if selected.
Click "OK" then "Apply”. -

Copy the iTunes folder from the disk to the Mac, and the iPhone backup to the right place on the Mac (Google for "iphone backup location"). Then when you restore you can reload the last backup.

I am a bit of a computer/Internet/iTunes dummy....
I am concerned about the health of my current computer but have not yet made the commitment to a new one, but:
1) How can I transfer my iTunes account to a new computer when I get one...
and
2) What can I do if my current computer suddenly implodes and I have not yet 'copied/'saved'/otherwise protected my account, as is? -- I have already had my computer crash once and had one of your people help me restore all of the paid for songs (none of the uploaded from my own collection of CD songs, of course, so I had to spend a long time rebuilding that) -- and I believe I was told you could only help me recover that material one or two times altogether, no?
WithOUT purchasing a Mach or iCloud (I actually think I have one of the later, but rarely have checked it) account, is there anything I can do to responsibly protect my account?
Thanks for any time taken on this!!!These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

I have a 3rd generation iPod Touch and just did the update to IOS 5. Now I can't connect to my Netgear wifi router. My iPhone connects fine along with all of my other laptops etc. I have the router set with WPA-PSK [TKIP] security and an access list. I've confirmed the mac address is included on that list and that the password is correct. Under choses netwrok I select the network and it just goes into a spin. I have tried removing the password and the access list settings and it still will not complete the connection to the router thus no internet access. The routers firmware is also up to date. This thing worked fine before this update and I've already tried to restore from backup. Any ideas or is the wifi nic bad in this thing with the new apple firmware update? Any fix?

okay i want to go to smart phone with 2 year contract. i am wavoring between the 2g to 4g plan. verizon has decided not to chat with me for the moment. because i'm annoying. my question is, can i alter the G factor as i go if i need more need less and leave everything else the same?
you can start out low and increase your data allowance as you need throughout the month, backdating it to the beginning of the billing cycle so you don't have overages; however, I found out the hard way that you cannot decrease your data allowance during the month and backdate it so you don't overpay for unused data.
what I do now is reset my data allowance to 2GB at the beginning of every bill cycle and then increase it if I get warnings that I'm going to go over... and I check it 3 days before my bill cycle ends to see if I think I might need to bump it up before the end of the bill cycle
it's annoying, but otherwise I end up paying thru the nose for overages or overpaying for data I don't use
BTW, I'm on the More Everything plan, which is the same plan you'll get unless you go Edge (where you pay the full price for the phone but don't get the 2-year commitment to it) -

Connect your Laptop hard wired to the router and check if you have Internet...If you don't have Internet, it means your router is not configured and you need to configure the router...

If you have Internet Access on your Laptop when it is hard wired, then click start and goto the Control Panel and double click on Network Connections, right click on Wireless Network Connection and click on Properties.
Now on this window, click on the second tab Wireless Network and give a check mark on "Use windows to configure my wireless" and then remove all the network names present in the Preferred Networks Window. Then click on OK...
Right click on the Wireless Network Connection again and click on View Available Wireless Networks and try to re-connect to your network...

Do you mean iTunes library?
iTunes account is what you use to make iTunes purcahses.
iTunes library is what is on your computer.

No, it tells you it can only be sync'd with one iTunes library.
Simplest way is to copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder (thisis the iTunes library) from old computer to new computer. -
I have a 4s iPhone which I loaded the new Os on last night. Now I can not connect to iTunes. A message comes up saying i need 10.6.3 or later but I am running 10.6.1 as I have an older Mac. Anyone have ideas how to get this to work?
Its not telling you to update your iPad, its telling you you need to download a recent version itunes on your computer.
