Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
I have just assembled a photobook with captions for most of the pictures. One of the captions will not appear when i preview the photobook although it does appear in the assembled book.

Delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.

That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it on this page. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know your password, or if you prefer not to enter it, just press return three times at the password prompt.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test will take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line "[Process completed]" to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report your results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Rectangle in timeline will not appear when slide plays

Using Captivate 4.
In one of my slides, an audio track (.wav) is triggered by clicking a button.
34 seconds into the audio, a rectangle needs to appear (under a text caption).
Problem: The rectangle will not appear. It's in the right position on the timeline, and it's set to show for the rest of the slide. In preview the rectangle does not appear. After publishing, the rectangle does not appear.
The rectangle properties are...
Properties>Options
Visible = yes
display = rest of slide
appear after = 34sec
effect = no transition
Any ideas?

My keyboard will not appear when i am using Notes App

My on screen keyboard does not appear when I use Notes app. The + sign (to add a new note) does not function to create a new note

Try closing the Notes app completely and see if it works when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Notes 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Notes app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

My iPhoto images won't show, and Photo Library Repair will not open when I command-Option-click on the iPhoto icon.

When I click on any of those individual albums, for a brief split second I can see the images displayed, but then they revert to this:

I have real a lot of posts that say to click Command+Option while opening iPhoto and this will open the Photo Library Repair window, but... this is not happening. Each time I do it, iPhoto just opens as it normally does. I've tried about 10 times, closing iPhoto completely. I've tried through the dock icon and through the applications listing. Neither will open anything other than regular old iPhoto.
Can anyone help me and suggest what I may be doing wrong, or are there any alternative was to open Photo Library Repair so I can rebuild my library? I really don't want to lose all of those photos, especially since some are really important and irreplaceable.

Be sure you're holding the correct keys and that you're holding them long enough. Depress them before clicking on iPhoto and don't let go until the menu shows up.
If you don't want to lose those photos, make a back up now. Hopefully it's not too late.

I cannot get Audition 3 to run on my PC, i have downloaded it but it will not open when i go to open it

But for starters, try deleting the preferences 3.0 folder at C;\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Audition\
Then start the app as administrator by right clicking the Au 3 exe file and choose Run as Administrator

How to make a button on a form that will not appear when printed?

I have a rather strange request that I got recently from my employeer regarding a form that we are currently working on:
We have a form with a Acrobat created button on it that links to an attachment. She does not want the button to appear when the document is printed.
Is this even possible??

You can set the form field to be "Visible but doesn't print" rather than "Visible". This is far easier than the scripting solution.

I have a mac mini which will not wake from sleep mode since installing yosemite.

The cursor moves when using a track pad and magic mouse, but I can't click on anything. Also computer always starts in safe mode now.
Am I the only one having this problem. I have sent the error messages to Apple, but have not seen any updates that might address this issue.
I now have to turn off the sleep function which don't seem right to me. Any advice would be appreciated.

HT201263 I have an iPod touch which will not charge even after staying on cable for days. It shows the red line on battery, and wont do anything else. Any tips for bringing this back from the dead?

I have done everything suggested by Apple. It does not show up in iTunes. It is a model A1288. It was working fine until the battery ran down. I hate to throw things away.

After charging overnight
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer

If I cut and paste a word doc in gmail or aol it will not appear when sent to my aol accountt

For the last few days when I send or receive an AOL email that was pasted from Word no text appears in the email. Using Firefox 20. If I send a email pasted from Word from my Gmail to my AOL no text appears. If I send and receive using Gmail, there is no problem. If I use Firefox 5.1.9 there is no problem with an AOL email.

Let's start with the assumption that it's most likely to be a temporary glitch.
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
Firefox menu) > Preferences > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the AOL webmail site:
Tools menu > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Here you can remove your individual aol cookies.
Then try reloading the page and logging in again. Any improvement?
Microsoft Word has a special way of constructing HTML that preserves attributes unique to Word documents. However, when you paste that special HTML into a webmail editor, it may not be interpreted the same by different sites, all of which want to cleanse dangerous elements from that HTML. Maybe AOL has changed something? Do you know whether the messages appear blank in other browsers?
As a temporary workaround, if the messages do not contain embedded images or other non-textual elements, you could strip the HTML formatting by first pasting into a plain text editor such as Notepad, then copying from there and pasting into your email. To restore formatting (e.g., bold, italic, underline), you would need to use your webmail program's tools.
Finally, I'm not familiar with Firefox 5.1.9. Could you double-check that version number?

Red Slider will not appear when trying to force reboot

I found my old ipod touch and it says Disabled connect to Itunes. I do not have my origional pc to re-synch so i am trying to do the force restore. However i cannot get the red slider to appear in order to turn ipod off. I have tried numerous combinations of buttons. Any ideas?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

PSE 8 some photos will not autoimport when creating an photobook and block the whole sequence. Are there knows reasons why individual photos can hang the import? Thanks Michael

When creating photobooks with PSE 8 I find occasionally that certain photos block the autoimport function and none of the sequence are loaded into the new photobook. Using the identical setting to create a photobook other sequences of photos work perfectly. The photos have been checked and found and all are connected and recognised. Are there knows issues with some photo formats which will not autoimport when creating a photobook?

Sometimes LR can be "nudged" into showing folder relationships which better match the file system, by using the "show parent folder" command. When existing folders appear as if they were "top level" in the drive, we can see a more or less virtual picture of the situation, rather than anything real. So newly added folders can sometimes present themselves as if independent of what is already there.
By forcing LR to show a fuller hierarchy of folders, more attention gets paid to the actual arrangement - so new and existing folders should "wake up" and thereafter appear more reliably in the right relationships.

Hi there, Well, i thing i might have had the same problem (if you dont mean the selecting part, then try keyboad with usb and without if u dont have a macbook pro or so), i did the same and after selecting windows it said "No bootable disk" or " no boot disk" or something like that and the installer wont start when i was trying to install via CD/DVD.
The sulution is to use 2 usb-drives, one for the support drivers from apple and one for the windows it self after burning the CD/DVD to the usb on a PC using the windows own tools and creating a ISO file.
(there might be problems whit CD/DVD install sometimes)
The ISO file on a own USB is the most importat thing!! (and even apple and windows didnt know that but me and a technikal support guy from the store i bought it managed to fix it after like 4 days )

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!
