I have one query about table entries.

i have one query about table entries.
suppose for particular table we maintained 5 entries in dev server. actaully in the dev we have only these 5 entries.
In production we have 200 entries actually.
If we move the cts from dev to production ,we will get 205 entries right
please help me in this.

If i understood correctly, It is a Z table and you have done some changes in DEV system. If you move this to Production, it wont effect the production entries.
There are 2 different ways you can trnasport a Table. 1. with Table entries 2. Without table entries.
If you transport with Table entries then the DEV entries in this case 5 will be moved to PRODUCTION totaling 205.
If you transport without table entries, then in Production you will find only 200 entries.

Query about calendar entries - Asha 311

Just purchased an Asha 311 and need some info. about the calendar entries that I made (a To-do list).
To the right of the entry there appears a gray-scale dot, which, when touched, turns green. The entry vanishes to the bottom of the list. Touch the green dot and the entry re-dates itself to two weeks after the original date and re-positions itself accordingly.
Please let me know the significance of this gray-turned-green icon and how I can prevent my calendar entries vanishing and re-positioning themselves to the wrong dates.

This is a normal behavior of the phone. We suggest not to tap the gray-scale dot since it will notify you if you have already set the time and tone for it. If you will do it again, it means that the entry has been finished or has been done.

Yes you can, but it doesn't means that you will have a better performance, it depends on where is the predicate of your query.
If the selective predicate is in the subquery, then use IN. If the selective predicate is in the parent query, then use EXISTS.

I need to access the oldest entry from a List. something on the lines of removeEldestEntry from LinkedHashMap ... but I need to work with the entry before deleting it. any hints or pointers will be greatly appreciated

A list is not nessasarly in the order that you put them in (see List.add( int, E ). If however you list is, see List.remove(int), and use element 0.

Query about multiple connection pools under one database

Hi,
I have s query about connection pool, now we have a requirement,
we have two schemas in one db, some data store in one schema, some in another schema,
all tables are the same, but data is different, we want to retrive all data under two schemas,
so we need two connection pools under one database,
I have set two system DSN, and each connection pool was mapping to one DSN,
but after I importing tables into RPD, when I view data, there is a dialog let me select connection pool. so If this, when we drag columns in answer, it will definitely get wrong.
so how to realize this function about multiple connection pools under one database and we can get data normally.

Try this step
1)Better to create two different DSN for the same database with different user id and password
2)now create multiple connection pool in the same database in u r RPD physical layer .

QUERYING TWO TABLE BUT not rquired 99% of the time

I have two tables EMPLOYEE AND DEPARTMENT.
Most of the time I require to query only employee table (99% of the time),but there are times when I have to
query department table to get details about department
select e.emp_id,e.emp_age,e.department_desc from employee e,department d where e.department_id = d.deparmemnt_id and e.department_id = 1;
The problem is 99% of the time I dont need the join,that is 99% of the time I jsut need select * from employee because department_id is almost most of the time greater than 1.Wondering how can write just one query that will do the trick.

Running a BEx report with more than one query in Background

I am having a workbook with 2 queries .This workbook needs to be executed at a particular time every day and then save this file to a application server location .
The file name has to dynamic, as everday a new file has to be created with some date stamp.
Please let me know the steps/ ideas to achieve this

are you sure that it has to b a workbook ? running queries independently can be done .. am not sure if a workbook can be scheduled to run...
One alternative is to use APD - have the queries run and populate two ODS and then have these ODS in a multiprovider and have one query output for the same - seems to be a very longworkaround...
Another option is to have the queries executed in an ABAP programme and then have the results in an internal table and push both the result sets into an excel sheet ad save it in the application server.
For reading queries in ABAP there is a functionmodule for the same .. something like RSDRI_INFOPROV_READ .. I am not too sure of the name but there is a function module for sure..

Query in Table Maintanance Generator

I have a query in table maintanance generator. In tables Extract and Total we have all the entries. Is it possible to get the entry which we made in the record. I mean i need the record in this i made the changes. I cant use above tqo tables because special characters are coming. Any body can suggest.

You will have to modify the program/code that was generated from the table maintenance generator to fit your requirements.
You can accomplish this by digging through the transport that you created, or by debugging through SM30 when you add a new entry or hit the save button. You should be able to find a place to add your custom logic.
Note: If you modify this code, anytime in the future if someone re-generates this table maintenance, your custom code will be over-written.

Query about Search help exits

Hi experts,
           I have one query regarding search help. I have created a elementary search help which is having two fields.Now my requirement is that in the selection screen when I will enter any value in one field and i will press F4 in other field the list should contain only the values corresponding to the first field.
e.g.two fields comp code and name of company. When I will select the company code and press F4 in the second field the companies corresponding to the particular code should appear. Should I write a particular exit for that.
Experts please help me.

Query about licensing Jdeveloper

Dear Friends,
I have a query about licensing of Jdeveloper development tool. I understand that Jdeveloper is Free tool.That is we do not require license to use Jdeveloper for development as well as production.
Recent I heard that Jdeveloper is free only if we purchase Oracle Application Server. Is it correct ? Does one need to purchase Jdeveloper license if it is being deployed on any other App. server eg. Jboss etc ?
Can anyone throw light on the same ?

I have to deal with one question about table display :
- I'd like to remove the orange color when we select a row. I tried to change the selectionChangeBehaviour properties but it only freeze the colored row to the first position.
Does someone has an idea?

If we set selectionMode property to none then it disables the lead selection. Try it once that whether it meets your requirement.

i have one query regarding one scenario which demands automatic deliver of mail to concerned person whenever there is no stock available for any material in the system..My interest is to notify the warehouse incharge about the status of items whether it is being totally utilised so that proper and immediate action could take place...As soon as the material Qty becomes zero,this should happen...Please guide me briefly for the same...

Instead of starting the workflow and checking the start condition. If you can find a UserExit/Badi/Ench., use that to validate the stock and if it satisfies then go ahead and start the workflow.. If it only a mail to the concerned person, you can even send a mail using function modules(SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 or similar one) .
