I hear that having an app for my future website is the way to go in the future. It will help to even the playing field for small business such as mine.THere will great ways to feel out the personal preferences of prospective clients. My site will be written in microsoft. It will have a blogg, store, database, and a community forum. What are the pros and cons to having an app. What are the possible expences to expect with building,launching, hosting and maintaining an app compared to advertising on a deskop. I hear PCC and SEO can often add up to over $5000 a month. Hosting will cost at least a couple thousand a year.

Sounds like you really do not understand what you are talking about. Not trying to be judgemental, but nothing is written in "Microsoft" unless it's a Microsoft Operating System, application, or website.
Microsoft is a company, not a programming language.
I would also recommend you do some reasearch on HTML5 so that there is no need to create an app for each platform, but rather have a single site that will run on multiple platforms.
Maybe look into contracting/hiring a good web designer.

Not as such. You would have to put a pdf version on your web site for download, which the reader would then have to print for himself. A pdf version might look rather different than the epub or .ibooks version, you would have to try that yourself to see how much. -
What happend for the "lock" for sercure web sites?
I used to get the "lock" Icon in the bottom right of me browser window indicating a secure site for doing purchases. It gone!
The lock icon has disappeared, but not the security. I imagine the old lock icon was too easy to spoof and so not doing any good.

IPhone question: Im trying to update applications on my iphone. When I do it I'm as for password from a different Apple ID from what I have in Itunes. How do I change so that both are the same?
All apps are tied to the apple id that it was used to purchase or download the app.

If the person downloaded with their own AppleID from a gift card it will update using their AppleID. It is tied to the AppleID used for the download.

Are web/cloud-based dev and apps dist the future for LV?
The direction of software companies such as Microsoft and Adobe is that they are no longer distributing media for standalone PCs. (we all know that if we didn't need to dist the hefty LV RTE life would be a bit easier)
You no longer purchase specific versions of their software instead you subcribe and login to have access to the latest versions from any location.
Examples are Office 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud. Presumably the subscription arrangement for them is more profitable.
Will this (a) be the future for LV development environment; and (b) will this make it possible for developers to adopt similar strategies for distributing their own apps?
Currently is this something that the webservices features of LV can deal with to some degree? I understand this is limited to a small number of concurrent users at a time? I also understand that web-based are not exactly the same as cloud-based applications.
Is this something NI is not moving toward since LV has traditionally been tied to fixed hardware (i.e. data acquisition) applications?
Anyway, I'd be interested in hearing people's opinions..I can't speak for NI's future plans. But I don't think a move like this would benefit much of the LabVIEW community. I'm sure there are some that would fine a clound or web based distribution system convinient but for me many of the system I install LabVIEW, TestStand, DAQmx, XNET, and many other NI tools are offline perminently. These computers don't get future Windows updates, or NI updates unless I make an effort to put them on the network, or bring over DVDs and external drives with updates on them.
So as for distributing NI applications I don't think this is a good move. They already have a subscription based approach with things like the VLA, Enterprise solutions, and SSP. Having the user go NI.com and download the tools you want has worked, and moving to a cloud application won't really work because NI users are quite diverse. Office 365 works because if you use office, you use the same office. But with LabVIEW there are so many 3rd party tools and libraries that the LabVIEW you use can be very different from the one I use.
As for distributing your own built applications I think this would be neat, but again not right for me.

I'm sorry to hear about your iPhone and the issues you are having with Messages on your Mac. If you are trying to send iMessage messages in Messages, your iMessage account should be tied to your Apple ID (same account name and password). If you are having password issues in Messages, you may want to verify that you have the correct password by logging in to your Apple ID directly:

If your wireless environment is less than ideal, as it is in most inhabited areas, the influence of other wireless networks and devices competing for the same very small portion of the electromagnetic spectrum will affect your network's performance. Your own wireless network is a microcosm of that environment.
To mitigate the effects of competing wireless networks, use 5 GHz to the maximum practicable extent. It is comparatively free from interference contributed by other wireless devices and is likely to remain that way for some time. However, it is less tolerant of intervening obstructions and construction materials than the 2.4 GHz spectrum, so it's not a panacea. Every installation is different so you must experiment to determine the optimum configuration.
Place your wireless router (what kind is it?) in a central location, convenient to all the devices that require it. Most of the time a utility or ISP will locate it in some remote corner next to the utility service entrance. That is almost always the worst possible location.
Others find that only a direct wired Ethernet connection between router and devices will maintain uninterrupted access to Airplay.
That is almost certain to result in the best possible AirPlay performance. Short of having everything hard wired (it's not an option for the iPad for example) use an Ethernet connection for all the devices that lend themselves to that method. Your AppleTV is certainly one of them, since its location is not likely to change very often. Your AirPort Express should be another, since your audio systems are likely to stay put as well. Connect them both to your existing router, either directly or through an inexpensive Ethernet switch. Your problems are likely to be solved with just those two connections. -

I changed my Apple ID. What can I do to change my icloud ID also so that they are the same.
If you used the "Manage your Apple ID" login at https://appleid.apple.com to simply change your primary email address of your existing AppleID, then all you need do is log out of iCloud and then log back in with the new email. If on an iOS device, go to settings, delete the iCloud account, and then log back into it with the new email address.
If you actually created a wholly new AppleID, then you cannot change that for your existing iCloud address. You can make a new iCloud account with the new AppleID. But your current iCloud login would continue to use the same AppleID as its login. -
What are the settings for Primere Elements 9 if I've filmed with a Canon Powershot sx50 HS?
I just got this camera and I want the best quality possible. Unfortunately, it's hard for me to fully know if the settings I try create that. I get a fuzz or noise on objects like if I'm wearing a black jacket it's like static. When I put the video on my phone which is an Android Galaxy s4 it converts it into mp4 format and I get much more clear results than on my computer which perplexes me. I did a lot of trial and error with my previous camera (JVC Full HD Everio) which I got the same results. My newer Canon should be leagues ahead of the JVC, but I really can't tell as of yet. If anyone could help that would be awsome. I have examples of my trials and errors from my Youtube videos which you can see I felt I was slowly making progress with the JVC Oppositeofhood - YouTube

I pressed record on different settings to take pictures with like portrait to see if it would make a difference and when I uploaded them to my computer I found where it shows the BIt rate and it varied. They run at 23 frames per second 1920 x 1080 MOV video files and all the Bit rates are like 36,356 35,414 ,36,521

not we are setting the appropriate bitrate level in the export settings. What are the units for 36,356, 35,414, and 36,517 -

When you go to export your edited Timeline content, then use

with Presets = NTSC DV 16:9 - that is going to be customized to 1080p24 (H.264.mov) under the Advanced Button/Video Tab of that preset

Video Codec = H.264
Frame Width = 1920
Frame Height = 1080
Frame Rate = 23.976
Field Type = Progressive
Aspect = Square Pixels (1.0)
Now here is where we are going to experiment....

Check Mark next to Limit Data Rate to and type in 36000 before kbps
note the file size of the export as well as the quality of the playback.
Repeat the whole process but in export
Remove the check mark next to Limit Data Rate. The Bitrate field will be disabled.

All new keyboards need Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and above for full functionality.
Rather short-sighted of Apple perhaps, but that seems to be a trend these days.
I'm afraid the only fix is to upgrade to SL. Personaly, I'd take it back and get a refund and seek an older keyboard or a third-party one elsewhere.
