I installed Firefox 29.01 but two pages keep popping up, my home page and the what's new in Firefox page. How do I stop the What's New page from popping up?
I installed Firefox 29.01 but every time I open it my home opens and so does the What's new in Firefox page. I want to disable the What's New page and only want the home page to open up but everytime I start Firefox both pages open up.
hello, this might happen when firefox is not able to properly save preferences in its profile folder. please try this: Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and then click help [[Image:Help-29]] > troubleshooting information > profile folder - "show folder". then a new window will open up. in this window look out for a file named '''user.js''' (it might be used to overwrite your custom settings). in case it is present , delete or rename this file and restart firefox afterwards.

Firefox lets you set multiple tabs to open when you start up or click the Home button. Not sure how that other one got on there, but you can remove it.

If you know any of these IDs:
in iTunes on your computer, sign out of your regular account. Sign in with one of the "mystery" accounts, and Authorize that computer to that account.
Sign out of that account, and repeat with each of the other accounts.
When you're done with all the other accounts, you can sign back in with your usual account.
That may take care of it after your next sync with your iPhone.
(Basically, your phone was synced with Account A, but some of your apps/media were purchased for Account B or C or D. We want to tell your computer that those accounts and their media are OK.) -

How do I stop an "invalid password" notification popup from popping up continually?From the first time I entered a wrong Mobile Me password, even when I am not trying to access my account, it continually pops up over whatever I have on the screen. I can drag it down out of the way, but when I hit the "ok" button, in a few seconds, it pops back up again. Help, this is so annoying!
Try opening Keychain Access (found in /Applications/Utilities), then locate your MobileMe password there (it'll have the same name as your MobileMe username, and will have a MobileMe icon) and delete it.

This is apparently the Viewpoint Media Player plugin '''npViewpoint.dll'''. Even though you don't see the Viewpoint Media Player listed in your list of installed programs, it might be listed as a different application.
Disabling the MetaStream 3 Plugin in the Firefox Add-ons Manager removes it from the about:plugins list but apparently does not stop the PluginCheck from finding it. You should re-enable the MetaStream 3 Plugin in the Firefox Add-ons Manager list of plugins. Also, does the add-on TopArcadeHits sound familiar? You might want to try disabling it here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category
Then restart Firefox (usually there is a handy link for this after disabling). -

While using Firefox, a site popped up and said it was Firefox scanning for viruses. It then said I had dangerous viruses and should download a security program. Is this for real? The site was update32.escmce.ce.ms I googled this site and it does not exist. Now, I am worried about the security on my computer.
If you're running under Windows, I suggest you download and install Microsoft's Security Essentials. It protects against these types of attacks and tends to find stuff that other anti-virus scanners don't find. You're system could be infected because of that bogus, evil anti-virus scan. Install and run the software while in safe mode.

If you prefer not to see snippets on the about:home page then you can set the <b>browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl</b> pref to an empty string on the <b>about:config</b> page.
Delete the <b>storage\moz-safe-about+home</b> folder in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed to remove snippets stored in IndexedDB and make Firefox use a default set.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
You can reset the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref to the default value to re-enable the snippets. -
