I just got an android phone but when my friends try to text me from and iphone I dont get it because I use to have one

So I use to have an iphone but I switched to an android but when my friends with iphone try to text me I dont get the messages? What do I do to fix it I dont have my iphone anymore I sold it after my upgrade?

If you sign onto iTunes on a computer and remove the iPhone from your device list.
Ask your friends to turn on SMS in settings > messages

Hi hexonxonx, I'm on o2. Thanks for your advice. You are right. All I had to do was change one of my APN settings to mobile.o2.co.uk and reboot my phone and this sorted it out straight away! Thanks again. Much appreciated . I was thinking I was going to have to go back to an android phone to use my 3g again but this eliminated that need. Thanks.

The procedure is Settings>Messages>Send & Receive at>You can be reached by iMessages at>Add another email address. The email address has to be a valid working email address, obviously. Apple should verify the email address and you have to go to the inbox of that email account, read the verification email from Apple and follow the inductions in the email in order to complete the verification. Then you go back to the settings, uncheck your email address and check the new email address to be used as the contact email address.

Hi macbookprowilliam, I have the SAME problem, that grey lock just appeared trolling me. I dunno the password and I wan't to sell this macbook! I need the password. Maybe it's a new malware! The icon is +Sections, not just Sections, as in "Add a Section". When you click that icon you get a section break and and a new section template, complete with preformatted text called placeholder text. The reason "Lorem ipsum" is there is so you can see what the format looks like. The reason that it is Latin gibberish is so you won't get hung up on, or distracted by, what it says. It's just a display of format. Select the "Lorem ipsum" text and start typing your content.

FaceTime is part of the OS. I don't understand why you would be asked that question. The only phones that do NOT have facetime are those intended for some countries in the Middle East where it is illegal. Facetime has been removed from those phones and can not be added back.

If you did not enable backup encryption and it is now asking for a password, the backup is corrupt.
There is no way to remove the "password".
Restore the device as new and sync back your content. Everything should already be in iTunes.

She needs to call the carrier on her old iPhone and have it removed from her account.
Once she does that you will not be able to use iMessage because that only works Apple to Apple.
You will need to use something else like Skype instead.
