Overdrive says it was transferred successfully, but it is not in my iPod. I have had no problems transferring audiobooks until I downloaded this new version. Help!
I just realized that part of my post got cut off. There was a message that i could not connect to the Apple store (and my genius stopped running).

If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store for more than a day (and other customers on our discussion boards aren't experiencing similar issues) a software or Internet service provider (ISP) configuration issue may be blocking your access to the iTunes Store. Find out which ports and servers need to be allowed for iTunes Store access.
Update iTunes to the latest version.
If iTunes Store appears empty and only displays the message iTunes Store, follow these steps.
Try the steps to troubleshoot iTunes Store connectivity in Windows.
As with all firewalls not manufactured by Apple, you may need to configure Windows Firewall to allow iTunes to access the iTunes Store. Follow these steps for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.
Try disabling any proxies built-in to Windows. You should avoid proxies because they can cause issues.
If you're receiving a specific error message, follow these steps.
If the issue still persists, contact your Internet service provider and confirm that these ports and servers are enabled over your network.
Note: The hosts file may be blocking the iTunes Store.Microsoft's article How do I reset the hosts file back to the default? has instructions and a FixIt to have Windows try to reset the hosts defaults for you.Note: Some workplaces may put internal resources in the hosts file and may block iTunes Store. The FixIt doesn't work for Windows 8.To create a copy of your hosts file and replace it with an empty hosts file, follow the instructions below:
You can find the hosts file at: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC.
Select the hosts file. There should now be a duplicate of the hosts file named "Copy of hosts" (Windows XP) or "hosts-copy" (Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8).
Drag the original hosts file to your desktop.
Right-click the duplicate file and choose Open. You may be prompted to choose the program you want to use to open this file. Double-click Notepad.
When Notepad opens, choose Edit > Select All.
Choose Edit > Delete.
Choose File > Save.
Close Notepad.
Right-click the duplicate file, and choose Rename.
Type "hosts" (without quotation marks) and press Enter.
Restart your computer and try connecting to the iTunes Store.
If you still can't connect to the iTunes Store, your security software or firewall may be blocking the ability of iTunes to communicate with the Internet. Learn how to resolve security software issues.

I installed the latest update of iTunes and now my computer is extremely slow and it freezes. When I click on the itunes icon, nothing happens, if it opens is a long time afterwards. Most of the time it does not even open, but the computer is very slow. It is a PC desktop running windos xp.

Just installed the latest update, now iTunes won't launch

iTunes was running perfectly fine, but wouldn't let me access the iTunes store until I installed the latest software update (9.0.2 or something like that). The software installed successfully, but now iTunes won't open. When I click on the icon in the dock, it bounces once, then nothing happens. I also tried opening iTunes through the Applications folder, and still nothing happens. I've also tried ctrl-clicking on music files and choosing "open with iTunes" and still nothing. It doesn't give me an error message or anything, it simply doesn't do anything. I just want to listen to my music! Does anyone have any advice?Of course, immediately after posting this, I looked through the board again and discovered another topic on the exact same question. The answer was that I needed to update my software to version 10.4.11. I did that, and iTunes opened just fine.

My apple nano 4th generation was working fine until about 2 weeks ago I downloaded a new updated from apple ?, after that I lost everthing, I've worked over 30 hours trying all suggestion including removing in sequence all apple related programs. My current driver is 6.0.6002.18112. Can anyone help me?

TS1538 Problem with instal of the latest update of iTunes on my Windows 8 computer
I have installed the latest update of iTunes on my Windows 8 computer but now have a problem in that iTunes does not recogise my iPhone. I get a message that I need a new version of "Apple Mobile Device Support". However, I can't delete the old file? I get a message saying "The older version of Apple Mobile Device Support cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group."
Any suggestions?I've not had this problem since getting windows 8 but did previously use a free program from Microsoft called "windows install clean up" which I found online (at that time I needed to remove a stubborn QuickTime programe from windows 7).
May be worth a search for if you've got time. It worked amazingly before and remomved programs that otherwise refused to be unintalled! -

Are you sure it's not 6.1.6? If it is, that is the latest iOS version that will work on a 4th generation iPod Touch. Later versions require a 5G iPod which has twice as much RAM.

Installing an iTunes update does not remove your media or personal files.
Are the files actually missing off the computer, if so, you have a serious computer issue... not a software update issue.
Regardless, use the backup of your media and other important files to put everything back. You do have a backup, correct? -

What didn't work? Removing everything or just the older version of Bonjour? Did you follow the instructions in the link I provided above to walk you through the process?
