I just purchased a Macbook Pro, and I tried signing into FaceTime with my Apple ID, but every time to try sign in it appears with this message: "The server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later." What do I do?
I've tried changing my DNS servers to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4 but that didn't work...
What else can I try?

I had to same problem. I found forums about adding the DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in System Preferences - Networks I did that and it still didnt work. Just found another forum saying to go into System Preferences - Time and Date and check the Set time and Date automatically. And it worked for me. Hope it works for you too.

As the Other threads suggests I would check the Date and Time settings on the Mac and compare that with the settings in the router.
Messages (and iChat before that) send Time stamped info to Login and to send IMs.
Obviously most people set their Macs to their Time Zone and nearest city/town.
What people sometimes forget is that their Router/Modem device(s) have to be set correctly as well.

Also Add a Public DNS server to your System Preferences> Network > Advanced Button > DNS tab
A Google one such as 8.8.4.4 or 8.8.8.8 seem to work well for most people

i also have tried downloading "FaceTap" application to get facetime on my ipad and failed too. i thought i failed because i couldnt download latest 6.0 iOS or later. i downloaded latest software update for iOS but was 5.8 I thinkWait until Apple fix it. I down loaded the new imessage for mac from the mountain lion, free trial, but when i try to sign in it says the server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later. I am having the same issue. I used to be able to sign into FaceTime on my MacBook Pro no problem, however recently it has logged me out and is not not letting me back in. It appears to need to reverify my Apple ID, which is correct and works on everything bar Facetime (even on my iPhone 4), but then kicks me back and displays the message above. It is nothing to do with my wifi, and I tried changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8 I've seen many other forms suggest. -
I have been browsing the disscusions on this site, and I have tried everything suggested; changing time, restarting computer, fooling around with the keychains, even trying my sisters apple id! I dont know why my Facetime has randomly stopped working and I know that there is already alot of information out there but I thought I would ask again to see if anyone had any new ideas or ways they could help! I have the same problem on my iMac. My facetime has been working, but now I'm getting the same error as You. I've been through the following:
The stuff that Linc Davis suggested, new profile on iMac, moved iMac into DMZ zone with no firewall rules, tested with other Apple-ID, checked hosts file, checked different timezone settings, tried to connect to 2 mobile APs (with diferent providors), changed DNS servers (ISP's DNS + Google DNS + Open DNS) - Nothing helped. Also talked to Apple Support, since i have Apple Care, but the seem to be a bit clueless also Well I've mailed them the results of my different tests, so lets see what they come up with - Unfortunately I'm sure it will be the same suggestion as all the major PC manufactures suggests, reinstall and test - RIGHT !!!!!!
If I get solution, I'll post it here.
