I just purchased an I pad mini and when I send an email a get the message "a copy has been placed in the outbox. Recipient was rejected by the Server. I do not know what that means. Who is the server. Why are the emails not sent?
I just purchased the new I pad mini Retina display 16 GB and have AT&T Lite.
I cannot send emails. I do receive them.
The message is "copy placed in outbox. Recipient rejected by the server".
Who is the server?
Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

Go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>your account>Outgoing mail ServerSMTP>Primary Server then turn Server ON and fill in both User Name +Password under Outgoing Mail Server.

The issue definitely sounds like your Outgoing/SMTP settings need to be changed. Simply set them to the proper settings for your provider as was suggested above.

The SMTP settings can be edited on the iPad/iPhone by going to Settings--> Mail, Contacts, Calendars, edit the account having trouble, click the Account, then at the bottom is the SMTP server info, click on it to edit it further.
It should allow you to edit the primary smtp server and let you enter all the good stuff as you see in the Knology link above.
Some providers require you to register your account on their service like AT&T. -

How long has it been going on? I've had my yahoo mess up and if i wait a bit it resolves itself. Yahoo is doing something with their servers and it messes with your mail if your mail happens to be on one of those servers.

Thanks,Try going into the account's outgoing SMTP server settings, and if they are not already filled in add your account id and password to the outgoing settings : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and then select the account the account on the right-hand side and go onto into it's SMTP server settings

I updated to 5.0 today.
Now, when I try to email from my phone, I am block, thwarted, rejected by the following message:
Cannot Send Mail
A copy has been placed in your Out Box. The recipient (enter email here) was rejected by the server.
This happens with my business address. Receiving works.... sending doesn't.
My SBC Global address on this same phone is fine...receiving and sending.
What to do? I'm stressed.

I had the same issue on my iPhone 5S. My internet/email provider told me to uncheck (turn off) USE SSL under Mail settings, and it worked perfectly for me. -
When I try to send an email from my iCloud account on my IPAD I get the message that a copy has been saved to outbox as my storage limit has been reached. It works fine on the main computer but not on the ipad. How can I mend this?
I have just encountered exactly the same issue for the last 24 hrs - mail goes to outbox from iPad yet send OK from icloud account on my powerbook. Tried resetting the push email settings on the iPad but no chnage.

I'd delete the mail account, reset your network settings, and then add the email account again after your phone restarts. -

All I do is click on the song, it asks me if I would like to locate it and I go to my music first. It's normally in there and you just click on it and it reloads. Or, search in your computer for it and it will locate it if it's there. Click C drive and you can see all files then move the track to my music first. Finally you could delete iTunes, reload it and press button: scan for media then it will give you back one of every song you have ever loaded digitally!

--Contact Apple Support and explain.
--Have first-level support misinterpret your request.
--Re-explain and ask for resolution.
--Have the purchased items added to your download queue and then hit Check For Purchases.
--Sit back and enjoy.

Roaminggnome, you are simply wrong. Demonstrably, purchases on iTunes are not one and only copy--even more so now with the entire concept of iCloud, but even beforehand you could download apps many times if you had bought them and removed them from your iOS device. You'd think with all those discussion points, you'd troll less and actually give thought to responses more, but sometimes I say crazy things. -

why when i want to download a free app from app store it asks for my apple id and when i give my apple id it then says "this apple id has not yet been used in the itunes store". i dont even know what that means and it will this happen everytime?
If you are within 14 days of purchase you can still return the iPhone and get the phone that suits your needs, however, I think you will find that no matter which phone you get the content provider will want to know how you are going to pay for future purchases. For Android phones it is Google, and they will certainly want to know.
