I just turned on my iPod Touch and all my music has been wiped... (my iTunes was set to manually manage music, and all my apps are still on the iPod...).
What has happened and how do I get my music back? Obviously I have some of it on iTunes but others I don't have anymore... I can't understand how my music would suddenly disappear when my iPod has been working fine. My iTunes was set to manually manage music (and even if it hadn't been, then my iPod would have been synced to it anyway, so that can't explain why it's gone) and all my apps are there as usual. It's the version of the iPod touch before the camera was introduced. Please help!

That makes it difficult to provide any assistance. I hate to say this but you chose to manage the music yourself and there's no way that i/we can figure out what you did that caused the problem.

My Ipod touch is set to manually manage music. I have put music from my computer and iTunes account onto it, and music from other people's computer and iTunes accounts on it. Unfortunately I dropped my iPod and the screen cracked. It still plays music and everything just fine, but it has problems with it's battery life so I'd like to just get a completely new iPod nano. Is there any way I can transfer all the music from my iPod touch onto a new iPod nano? From what I can tell it won't let me sync any of the music on my iPod touch that is from other people's computers onto my laptop, and so I wouldn't be able to put it on a new iPod nano. Hopefully that makes sense. I'd just really really like to be able to keep all that music and not lose 2/3 of my iPod touch music library because I want to put it on a newer Ipod.

TS2446 Ipod touch displays "Your Apple ID has been disabled" when attempting to update Apps.
How do I work through "Your Apple ID has been disabled" on an Ipod Touch?
My child's Ipod touch displays "Your Apple ID has been disabled" when attempting to update game Apps. I have reset the password, and reset the Ipod to factory settings; did not resolve. This began by entering wrong Apple ID password multiple times. Thank you.Contact iTunes Support or browse the More Like This section on the right.

Hi, I upgraded from iOS 5.1.1, to iOS 6, and it's ridiculously slow, I can't sync to my computer, (manually manage music), and all of my photos were gone. How can I get my photos back? It says restoring photos, but it's said that for two days now!
It just does't sync. I connect it to itunes, but nothing happens. Where it says how much space I have, it's just on ebig bar that says other. I can play my music on itunes, but not when i unplug it.
All of my photos were gone, i took and saved them with my ipod.
The photo app is saying restoring.
What should i do? -
So I got a brand new iPhone 4 from a Sprint retailer, and it came with the software that was available at the time of the release. I left it that way for a while and put music on it through iTunes (latest version as of 11/20/2012) with no problems. Then I updated the software on the iPhone to iOS6.0.1 and when i tried to put music on it through iTunes like normal the songs showed up in the library of the iPhone (still on the computer) however they were grey and they had a syncing symbol to the left as if it were still syncing the music. I waited and waited but it would not go away. then I clicked the arrow at the middle top of iTunes where it shows you what song is playing and everything else iTunes is doing, and it did not say that it was syncing the music like normal. Basically the library indicated the music was still syncing but iTunes was not putting it on. I currently have it set to manually manage music. I do not want to switch it to automatically sync or reset my iPhone because I will lose my information. Any immediate help would be greatly appreciated!
When I went to restore my phone, I may have found the cause of these problems. I never deleted all of my original synced songs before enabling iTunes Match.
When I just went to do the restore, I figured I'd delete all of my songs, then disable iTunes Match. After deleting about 3.5 GB of music and disabling iTunes Match, I ran the sync to backup my iPhone. It said there was still 2.2 GB of music. I checked my phone just in case and there was 2.2 GB there, probably the original synced songs that I never removed.
Anyway, I'm doing the restore now just in case and will respond tomorrow with how everything is working. -
One of my authorized devices was erased. I downloaded iTunes. Says my iPod is already synced to a library. It will allow me transfer purchased songs but not songs I had that were downloaded off of my CD's. Where do I access that library and how do i get it back on iTunes? I tried manually move songs in disk mode. Now I have a bunch of data on ipod and I don't know how to remove it. It basically copied all my itunes files from my C drive onto ipod in my efforts to move the library.
When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? I'm wondering if restarting the computer might help but have been afraid to do so in case it would make it harder to recover anything...I was looking at this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4211589?start=0&tstart=0 in the hopes that it might have a helpful suggestion but it's definitely a different scenario.

I have followed the steps in order to manually manage the music on my 3GS iphone. (used the latest version of itunes and my iphone is up to date with iOS5) and it still is not allowing me to add music from another computer.
when i plug it into the second computer, it is asking me to click "manually manage music and videos" again. when i do that, it says it is going to sync with this new library and erase all music that is already there. i dont want this to happen! i only want to add a few select songs from each library. I have waaayy to much to add and erase every time.
both of the computers i am using are PCs and have my itunes id for homesharing... please help me!Refer to this article

The sync function on my 3rd gen iPod Touch doesn't work properly. It won't sync all the podcasts I've downloaded, and it won't delete ones I've listened to and deleted on iTunes.
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Any way to find iPod Touch serial number after it has been lost/stolen?
I'm pretty sure I still have the box somewhere but I'm away from home for the time being and lost my iPod Touch over the weekend. After my digging I just can't seem to figure out if I can trace purchase history or associated devices in itunes back to the serial number of the device. I know this is a longshot and I might just have to wait until I can visit home and tear up my room looking for that stupid box... but if anyone could help, it would really supplement the police report nicely. Thanks!

Hi All
Basically over a month ago now my laptop had a virus and completely crashed and i lost everything, including all of my music
Luckily I had it all of my purchases on my Iphone so I was safe. However, yesterday my phone was close to dying and my friend plugged it into her laptop to charge forgetting that it immediately tries to sync the files... I managed to pull it out in time but I think i was too late as all of my songs are still listed on my ipod app on the phone...however none of them play!
Please help me get them back guys!
Thanks
SteffYes you can. But keep in mind that if you want to play your deleted songs, you will have to redownload them from the cloud. So while you can delete them off your system to free up space, you cannot directly play music from the cloud. It has to be downloaded to your computer first.

I need help - songs are still on the ipod but dont show up
my itunes crashed the other day and suddenly all the files on my ipod were gone. now when i connect it, itunes doesnt recognize it anymore, but i can see from the space left info in the finder that the songs are still on there. using ipod viewer, it even loads the songs to a certain point. unfortunately, a message comes up about an error reading the ipod. now my question is, is there any way or program to extract all those files from my ipod or do i really need to restore it?
yes i did. that was actually what i did when i had my ipod connected to the computer and itunes froze which lead to all my stuff getting deleted. so NEVER do this while your ipod is connected to your computer. thanks for your reply.
