I just upgraded my Ram to 8 gigabytes, hoping that would solve a problem in loading Logic X. The problem started when I had Logic X on my laptop and tried to open Logic X on my desktop. Since then, Logic X will not open on my desk top.
Logic X is installed on my desktop and my laptop. I had Logic X open on my desktop as I was backing up my music, and accidentally accessed some Logic music that had been stored on my desktop. Logic X works fine on the laptop, but freezes during installation on the desktop. I increased my Ram to 8 gigs, but the problem is still there.
Also, Ableton Live 9 Suite has the same problem...
Could it be that my version of Logic X has been corrupted and that I need to re-load it...and how do you do that since it has already been downloaded???
Oh, I have Yosemite 10.10.2...
I found out that I had a panic kernelling problem...and it had to do with audio plug ins. The cause of this was that I was trying to make more room on my computer and deleted a lot of files, which caused the headache. I re-loaded the software that came with the computer...that is when I saw the kernel problem...and then, I called Apple support because my computer then locked up. I was able to restore the computer from a previous backup...however, the problem that I created took almost all day and late into the evening to correct. Now that everything is up and running, I decided not to try to delete any more files, and will back up my work whenever I can.
By the way, what is the LPX program and how does that work?

I have been working on a wedding slideshow for days and have over 3,000 pictures in albums on iPhoto. It suddenly will not open without upgrading to Aperture and I can't find any of my photos!!!! I updated our iPad a week ago to 8.1 (12B410) and since then most apps will not close down with the 4 fingers swiping in. The only way to close them down is to hit the middle bottom button twice then swipe upwards. Is anyone else having this problem and how do I fix it?
This has been happening to me as well with an iPad 3 running iOS 8.1. This is what I do and it works for me. Toggle the setting for Multitasking Gestures off and then on again, Settings>General>Multitasking Gestures>Off. Then toggle it on again.
I have to repeat the sequence from time to time as I have not found a permanent fix. I think that iOS 8 is by far the buggiest iOS release that I have used since I have owned an iOS device. -
my new ipod classic 160 gb powered off and won't turn back on. if i plug in to computer, itunes will not open. if i start itunes first then plug in ipod, itunes freezes up. Looking for help. thanks. Was not connected to the computer when ipod died.

After you install Apple driver to enable the audio chip, YOU then need to manually download and install (Cirrus or Realtek audio depending on the Mac).

Since iTunes update it will not open & it fouls up internet
Since my iTunes automatically updated it will not open. When I try to open it my web browser no longer works. I have to reboot the computer in order to use my web browser. When I tell the computer to restart it gives me a "QT Helper is not responding" message.

I've windows 7 and have just updated to firefox 7. since the update then all my plugins that show pagerank show all pages as unranked. The rest of the features of these plugins work fine. I'm using SEOQuake and Quirk SearchStatus.
I've tried 3 different plugins and they all show the same. I've also tried the same in internet explorer and it works fine, so the issue appears to be with the new firefox. Any ideas?Hi,

I have a problem with Yosemite working with Safari, Chrome, and Firefox, although I use Safari more than the other two it is the worst with this problem.

Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

Windows XP SP 3 - Blackberry Desktop Manager 6.0.2 Will Not Open
When I try to start the desktop manager software I immediately get the windows message: "BlackBerry Desktop Software has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I've consulted many resources and tried several fixes, including taking ownership of the registry, renaming one of the library files, and downloading a .NET patch, so far no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
Got it to work.
Here is what I did:
I took the advice to call Verizon. Verizon obviously couldn't help, because it is a software issue, not a phone related issue. After getting passed around to two Verizon Tech Support people, the last one connected me to RIM tech support and handed me off. The first person at RIM asked VERY basic questions and didn't know what to do with this issue, so they connected me to the next level up. The RIM tech support had me uninstall/reinstall DTM 6.0.2 and rerun, I think he was trying to get a recent event logged that would detail the problem. Incidently, he asked about any security programs that might be running in the back ground and suggested shutting everything off. After the uninstall/reinstall, the program still crashed before it started up and we got the familiar windows "Blackberry Desktop Software has encountered a problem and needs to close...".
At this point we went to the system log by going to "Run" in the start menu and typing %temp%. There are two logs I emailed blackberry Tech Support: BB_Desktop and BB_DM. We also looked at the event viewer in computer management by right clicking My Computer, selecting "manage", expanding "event viewer", selecting "application". We looked at the errors associated with the software crashing.
Here is what we learned:
It wasn't a blackberry software issue, but a microsoft .NET framework issue (which I had read about and thought I tried an update in some other threads about this issue, but clearly didn't carry the ball far enough).
At this point, blackberry Tech Support told me to contact microsoft to help fix the problem.
Rather than spending another 3 hours on the phone, I decided to try to repair/update the .NET framework on my own. After several downloads and updates, the blackberry software now works like it should.
These are the resources I used, in order.
1. Download the "Full Redistributable Package" of .NET Framework 3.5 full package near the bottom of the page of http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=333325fd-ae52-4e35-b531-508d977d32a6&dis...
2. Uninstall using Add/Remove Programs all previous Microsoft .NET Framework programs (there were 3)
3. Install the "Full Redistributable Packge downloaded in #1 above.
4. Downloaded and Installed Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Web Installer) from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=9cfb2d51-5ff4-4491-b0e5-b...
5. Navigated to Microsoft Update at http://www.update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us and selected Express update
Several of these steps required a reboot, etc. I just followed all of the instructions. Of course I kept checking and hoping the blackberry desktop software would work. It finally did after #5 above--the express update found I needed to install some high-prioirity update that I can only assume was a patch or something to the.NET framework.
In any event, the whole thing took about 45 minutes and now the desktop software is functioning.
To any real computer people who may evaluate all of these steps, I'm sure I have some redundancies, but whether or not this was the most eloquent way to solve the problem, it got me to the finish line.
If your issue is a .NET framework issue, this could help solve your issue.

We had the laptop updated by way of a system upgrade with RAM and an additional SSD drive. Once reconfigured all programs were reinstalled but Iphoto is not among them. Iphoto was on the laptop when purchased so we have no additional discs. Before the laptop was updated we backed the photos up to an extrenal hard drive so we have them, but cant access them. Could I purchase Iphoto 8 stll? Would this work? We would also require an external CD drive as we no longer have the disc drive in the laptop (I think the extra new bits took over). You may have noticed I have very limited knowledge on computers so any help dispite how simple it may sound to some would help me greatly. I just want all my photos back .... Thanks inadvance... Cannot set up Email account I once had and lost. Will not accept password(s) have account through gmail, but cannot use.
It may be worth going directly to the gmail site: www.gmail.com can you login using what you believe to be your credentials? If not then it's likely to be an issue with the info you are using. Also if you haven't used the account for a while it may have gone in to a suspended state, and logging back in will reactivate it. If you do manage to login ok, then try setting up the account on iPad again.
