I'm unable to start Photoshop without holding down Ctrl, Alt, Shift each time I open it. Also Lightroom is now unable to open photos in Photoshop. I'm at a loss as to how to fix this.

I have PS 6 and just purchased an iMac and am running OS 10.10.1 (Yosemite). When i try to Save or Save As a file I get the following message: Could not save as "Whatever.psd" because this file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the Get Info command in the Finder to ensure the file is unlocked and you have permission to access the file. If the problem persists, save the document to a different file or duplicate it in the Finder. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I cannot open PS because of this error message. I changed the scratch disk within Photoshop in the "Preferences" section and next time I opened PS (CS4) this is the error message I got.
I went to Windows Explorer and all my permissions are "Full Control" on all users. I cannot see anything else I can do. How do I solve this problem?

Also try clearing your perf file by selecting CTRL, Alt, Shift during PS Start up. You have to be quick with the open timing. A screen should pop up asking if you want to reset. Hit yes. A conformation should pop up after. -

Open the Time Machine pane in System Preferences. If it shows that Time Machine is ON, click the padlock icon in the lower left corner, if necessary, to unlock it. Scroll to the bottom of the list of backup drives and click Add or Remove Backup Disk. Remove all the disks, then add them back. Quit System Preferences. Test.

i am getting the error message "could not copy to requested location" to a drive i have been using for over a year... when I do the same thing to another drive - it works just fine. why?
Possibly the drive is full
Possibly the permissions are not set to WRITE permission
Possibly there has been a "user mistake" and you think you are copying to a drive you have been using for over a year but something has accidentally changed and you're copying to a different location -

The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem. -

In this thread the OP found their AV solution appeared to be blocking access to the registry.
