I like to stream legal movies to my apple tv in the netherlands

In Holland we can rent movies and stream them to our TV sets.
Just a minor problem: the rental companies (moviesstores) only can be streamed by windows machines.
The safety software (DRM) is just for window machines.
These companies declare to have no apple sollution yet.
My thought was :
If i would bootramp my apple and install XP, start the apple under XP, it should be a 100% windows machine??? and the DRM should be accepted???
Does anyone have any experience with this item??

Not much as apple tv, but here i find the people that look for sollutions to stream films from a apple environment.
Apple tv, movie rental, is still not available here.
Now it is possible to rent movies (legal) in a windows environment having a apple machine and also a xbox to rent films online and can watch them on in full hd quality.

  • Would like to delete some of the movies on my Apple tv1, but the movies list  (and the music list as well is all greyed out. How can I proceed??

How can I delete some of the movies on my Apple tv1? The movies list and also the music list are greyed out. Hope some one has an idea as I can't figure it out!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
The best way would be transfer them to your iTunes library, but if you wish to delete them instead, select the trash can on the right hand side of the listing on the Apple TV, you can't delete them using iTunes on your mac/PC?

  • Is there a way to stream your video to your apple tv and the audio stays playing on your iPhone so that you can run and hear the movie through the headphones but watch on the tv?

I want to be able to run on my treadmill and watch a movie on my apple tv but hear the audio through my headphones on my iphone.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Unfortunately, that's not possible.

  • I would like to watch my movie rental or tv show on the tv. Since I can't download to a USB, what options do I have?, I would like to watch my movie rental or tv show on the tv. Since I can't download to a USB, what options do I have?

I would like to be able to watch my rental movie/tv shows from Itunes on my tv... I understand that I cannot put it on a USB stick, but is there any other option available? I've tried USB to USB cable and am having no luck.

If you have a modern Mac with a mini-display or Thunderbolt port you should be able to obtain a converter from there to HDMI (e.g. this one) so that you can plug it through to your TV to mirror what's on your screen. Note that this output does not carry audio (at least on some Macs) so you will need to connect that separately from the headphone output (3.5mm stereo jack to whatever your TV or hifi uses).

Hi All, I have a small showroom with 4 TV's connected with 4 Apple TV connected wireless to my iPad. I wanted to use Airplay and stream the iPad screen to all 4 simulaniously, is that possible?

Winston is correct you may want to consider a multiplexer its what places like bars restaruants usse when the wat several tvs to use the same imput. is cheaper then several apple tvs hers one at $132.74 i have never used it but searced google and found it would give you up to 8 tvs of one HDMI signal.

  • Problem streaming HD Movies to Apple TV through home network

Got my new Apple TV yesterday but has some quirks. The biggest one is I'm in the middle of watching an iTunes HD movie I own -- streaming it to my Apple TV on my home network -- and the video starts stuttering halfway through the movie. It was playing with no sound, the video was jumpy, etc.
I stopped the movie, unplugged the Apple TV, tried playing the movie again -- I did this a couple of times -- and same result. This issue didn't happen until about an hour into the movie -- for the first hour of the show it played perfectly. Just before the movie, I'd watched an HD TV show I downloaded from iTunes earlier in the day, and was streaming this to my new Apple TV over the home network, and it played fine.
The other issue I'm seeing is it takes a looooooooooong time to load my iTunes Library from my computer. I selected my shared library, and then it takes about five times (or more) as long to load the list of movies compared to my older Apple TV (the previous generation 160GB hard drive model).
Is anyone else seeing these issues, and is there a fix?

I am having the same problem streaming HD anything, Movies or TV shows. It seems to try to buffer more of the video than when using SD video anything. When playing SD anything, it seems to start playing very soon after pressing play.
My content is on a spring 2009 iMac
    CPU 2.93 GHz
    4GB RAM
    OS 10.5.8
    Network
Wireless N (G,B 2.4 GHz) No G or be devices on network presently not switching to N only because iPhone 3GS doesnt 'support N.
Airport Extreme (man BS) -> Airport Extreme (Extend Network mode) -> Airport Extreme (Join Network Mode).
    Thanks,

  • Streaming HD movies from Itunes to Apple TV 2

    Hello all,
I am having an issue streaming HD (m4v) movies from iTunes to my Apple TV 2. First off, I am able to stream Netflix flawlessly using my Apple TV. The HD Movies from ITunes glitches\lags every 20-25 seconds. Here is my setup.
Router: Apple Airport Extreme, using 5ghz band
    Laptop: Macbook Pro
Any suggestions? I have tried turning off Dolby Digital in the Apple TV Settings, but did not help.
    Thanks,
    Dustin

I was having the same error. I switched Audio Language to default and Dolby Digital to 'on' and I finally can see the video, but with no sound...
I tried MKVTools and Handbrake, AC3 passthru for audio on both, iTunes plays nice, but Apple TV doesn't. Any other solution?

  • Purchased movies from iTunes on iPad. Movies have transferred to iTunes on Mac BUT I'm unable to wee/watch movies on my Apple TV. I can see all the other movies I have purchased on iTunes on my AppleTV but NONE of the movies that I purchased on my iPad.

This one has me confused. I have all my devices set up for home sharing. I can stream music and movies from my iphone to my Apple TV. I can stream from my iMac to my Apple TV and from my iPad to my Apple TV.
However, the movies that I originally bought with iTunes on my iPad have transfered to my iTunes on my iMac BUT I can not access these movies through my Apple TV.
The movies I bought on iTunes on my iMac have a small half blue circle and the ones purchased on my iPad do not. Not sure what this means...
This has me really confused and I'm sure it might be nothing more than a simple setting somewhere but I would love to figure this out. It's almost like there is some digital right on these movies and it's not allwing me to access this from my other Apple devices.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Geesh - all this information and no  one has any clue to this? Not even someone from Apple?
Can someone at least point me in the right direction?

  • Save movie downloaded on Apple TV to Itunes

How do I save a movie downloaded on Apple TV to the linked iTunes?
This is a gen 3 Apple TV with up to date firmware.
I purchased movie on iTunes on laptop, but deferred download. Later I downloaded to apple TV (HD file with slowish internet connection so it doesn't stream.) Movie now ready to play, but I would like to save it to itunes before playing if possible so I don't have to download again onto itunes. That would be a frustration mainly because of borderline broadband speed.
It used to be that the apple TV showed up in the iTunes sidebar, but at least on my machine that is no longer the case. If it was there I presume i could "synch".
Perhaps the problem is lack of real storage on current Apple TV.
Both the TV and the computer are signed into iCloud and Home Sharing.

There is no content saved on the ATV Gen 2 or 3, there simply is not sufficient storage to save content there.
Download the content in iTunes on the computer.
Store > Check for Available downloads.

  • Stream video and audio to Apple TV conected to AV.

I have a Yamaha RX-V673 AV with Airplay and it is connected to my HDTV by HDMI (HDMI 1).  I purchased an Apple TV 3rd gen and connected it to my Yamaha (HDMI 2) and then attempted to stream a movie from my IPhone 5S to the apple tv.  The problem is that audio plays perfectly but no video.  Can someone assist me with this?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    Restart your mobile device.

  • Can music be streamed and played on several Apple TVs simultaneously?

    Hi:
I would like to stream music and play it simultaneously on several Apple TVs throughout my house. Possible?

Thank you for your response. Perhaps I didn't explain my question correctly. This is what I would like to do. Using the remote control app, I would like to turn on all of my Apple TVs at the same time and play the same music through all of them at the same time. In other words, with one click stream music to every Apple TV simultenaously.
