The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections.' (etc.)
BT won't deal with this - they redirect me to a 'partner' who want to charge to discuss the problem. Nice, eh!

The only way to sync Notes is through a mail server. If you don't want to use iCloud, you'll have to use some other mail account, or run your own mail server under OS X Server. The latter is a job for advanced users only.

Its password is unrelated to the password you use for the email associated with it.

You cannot change your Apple ID to another one that is already in use - in this case, the one you created for your iPnone and iPad. Decide which Apple ID you want to keep. If you need to change it, change it - don't create a new one. -

I read the posting regarding the options on Hotsyncing for Windows 7; however, I have some questions as I have a 64-bit system.
I have a Visor Pro that I'm trying to Sync up with my new laptop which is running Windows 7.
Steps I have taken:
* installed the Visor Palm Desktop 3.0.1 that came with the Visor (which the installation went well)
* The issue arises when I push the "Sync" button on the cradle and the following error message appears "The connection between your handheld computer and the destktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again."
Since I have a 64-bit OS it appears that I have 2 options: 1) bluetooth or 2) Infrared.
I have to admit I don't know know how to do either of these (how can I tell if this Handspring Visor Pro has bluetooth (which I don't it does)?).
Then how about the Infrared option? I see on the PDA it has a red area that one can "beam" info. Is this the same as Infrared or my 2nd option?
I love my Visor and want to continue using it, but need to backup the valuable info!
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Your Visor, as you suspect, does not have Bluetooth, so you must use the IR HotSync option. Since you are using Windows 7 64-bit, I believe that you are going to have to upgrade to Palm Desktop 6.2.2 to make things work from an OS/Driver perspective.
Since you are using such an old device, you are also going to have to download and install the PalmHotSyncSetup Utility from Pimlico. This update turns on support for old Palm OS PDAs in Palm Desktop 6.2.2. Without the update, you won't be able to sync your Visor with Palm Desktop 6.2.2. The software is free and the link is all the way at the bottom of the screen.
Lastly, if your PC doesn't have an IR port on it, you will need to purchase a USB to IR adapter. Some laptops still have IR ports and most desktops don't.
Once you have all the pieces, you'll want to go back to the Windows 7 and Vista HotSync thread again, and follow the directions for setting up and configuring IR HotSyncs.

The computer will immediately go to sleep when the lid is closed unless there is an external display attached to the computer. This is a feature that is not user configurable.

Debating between 13" Macbook Air and 13" Macbook Pro
Primarilly will be using it with Adobe CS6 (AI, PS and ID). Nothing too intensive and I would be planning on upgrading to the 8gb ram. I know on the older Macbook Air there were problems running OpenGl 2.0. I could care less about the lack of optical drive on the Macbook Air. I guess what I would like to know is... is anyone here running Cs6 on the new Macbook Air and how are they finding it? Would it be a better option to go with the Macbook Pro?
Thanks!The "graphics team" that I support for my department have two 13" MacBook Airs (Mid 2011) and they're very pleased with them, both users run CS6 on them. I know one of them will even run their machine on a 27" monitor at 1920x1200 and I've never heard a peep out of them in regards to sluggishness. I suspect the newer machines with 8GB of RAM, a faster SSD and RAM as well as an improved GPU would be even better.
One thing you can also consider doing is trying out Adobe CS6 on the new machines at an Apple Store. I frequently bring external HDs with me to the Apple Store to try programs before I'll make a petition to purchasing for upgraded units. As long as the program can run self-contained on an external drive you should be just fine. I did with with CS5 about 8 months ago.
Lastly, outside of the CPU difference, the MacBook Air has very mostly the same "under the hood" specs. The difference in CPU would be offset by the improved performance of the SSD over the standard HD, at least that's what I've noticed from my own experiences and the feedback of my users. -
As stated no matter how hard i try i CANNOT get apps to appear in my sidebar library menu so i can update them through itunes.Has only happened since last update of itunes .Really wish i hadn't updated as i have never had an issue b4.Spent most of day on fone to apple yesterday as the update created an issue that meant i could not sync at all.Anyway thanks to 'james' in arizona we sorted the first piece of trouble the update created .(sortof).

I've looked at lots of posts re this and tried all the suggestions but just cannot get the magic 'apps' category to appear in my sidebar in itunes???
One suggestion was that the apps if clicked on would have an 'update ' button but all i can do is delete them

(running osx 10.7.5 on MBP -slightly tricky cos i also run windows in a 'bootcamped' partition.Mind u itunes etc is in mac partition and has been working fine for the last 10 years!!!!!!!!!)I'm going to assume that you use only one Apple ID so the two things that I can think of are to quite all processes and restart all devices and then try to sync those apps again. Quit iTunes, restart your computer and the iPad and then try to sync the apps again.
The other thing would be to try to reset your iTunes account by signing in and out of the account on the iPad. Settings>Store>Apple ID - tap the ID and sign out. Restart the iPad and then sign in to your account and try again. -
I recently purchased the New IPad and am trying to sync to this computer. I need to download iTunes and /or Quick Time. Last night I tried downloading Quick Time and this morning it was still trying to load. iTunes will not download, but gives me the error code " not a 32bid win program" I am running a 64 bit system and have tried all the fixes that are listed. Problems with WiFi between my Macbook Air and Iphone 6
I have a Macbook Air (I purchased it around Dec. 2013)
My problem has been happening lately the past few months.
If my iphone 6 is connected to my Wifi here at home and it is plugged into my Macbook Air, the internet on my Macbook stops working.
I have to turn the Wifi off on my phone, for my macbook to regain it's connectivity and begin to work.
My hotspot is not turned on on my phone, or anything like that to prevent my Wifi from connecting on my Mac, but this problem happens EVERY TIME my phone is connected to my macbook.
Is this happening with anyone else? Is there something I'm probably overlooking?

The Air has mini-Displayport video out, so depending what ports the monitors have (mini-displayport? DVI? VGA? HDMI?) you will need the appropriate adaptor (eg, miniDP to HDMI) and probably also a cable (eg a standard HDMI or DVI cable).

but can usually find them cheaper online elsewhere.
Edit: the only way, I believe, that you could attach two monitors to the Air would be to use a USB adaptor for the second monitor. Something like this:
