I'm creating a set of values using a for loop and a shift register inside the loop. I want access to these values outside the loop as they are being created inside. When I connect a wire from the shift register to a display outside, it doesn't work. How do I do this? Thank you.

I tried to create the local variable that was wired to numeric indicator inside the loop. If I try to connect this to the analog output outside the loop, the loop just starts blinking and nothing happens, am I doing something wrong? Thanks again.

Using Export for Kindle, how can I get black body text to display inverse (white on black) on Kindle

I'm using ID 5.5 on a Vista system.
I've created a book file with some colored fonts and anchored gif images. Basic paragraph (body text) is black. The "Export to Kindle" mobi file displays fine on Kindle for PC and Kindle Previewer.
Kindle PC alows viewing on white, sepia or black background. Works fine on white and sepia, but when the black color mode is selected (night viewing option) the black text does not display as white text. What can I do to have the black text automatically change to white?
While trying to find a solution, I created an epub file of the book and, using Calibre, converted it to mobi. When this mobi file is loaded into Kindle PC, the black text does automatically change to white when viewed on the black screen. I would use this method of creating the mobi, but there are several other issues that make this process unsatisfactory (other text colors don't work well, image transparency losses, etc).
So, how can I get the black to white text thing using only Export to Kindle?

Using the REST API for files, how do I get information on all the folders and files in a folder?

I have an app that can successfully get a list of a folders content. However, by default the list is limited to 200 entries. I luckily ran into this limit when getting the list on a folder that contained 226 entries and realized I needed to then request
a list of the next items but it wasn't obvious from the REST API document how to do that. I tried sending the skipToken query parameter and setting it to 0 initially and incrementing each time I sent the request but always got the same 200 items back. So,
how do I get the list of files and folders beyond the initial list?

In SP2013 the skiptoken query parameter does not work with list items. You can look at the link below which discusses using the "__next" parameter.

How to create an array using reflection.
I want to achive something like this,Object o;
o = (Object)(new TestClass[10]);but by use of reflection.
To create a single object is simple:Object o;
o = Class.forName("TestClass").newInstance();But how do I create an array of objects, when the class of objects is known only by name? (Can't use Object[] because even though an Object[] array can be filled with "TestClass" elements only, it Cannot be casted to a TestClass[] array)

If your Mac is a new one, like mine, then it comes with a version of iLife that doesn't have iDVD and if so, there isn't an easy way to burn a DVD from iPhoto or iMovie that will play on a normal DVD player. Pass the value of the current case in a case structure to a global variable for use in VIs.

I have built a large queued state machine (>100 cases). In each state, I run a VI that I have created. These VIs are usually not very different from one another. In many cases, I could simply use the same VI over and over again. There is only one problem with that. None of these VIs know which case to send the program to next. I have to change the value of the "NEXT_CASE" constants in the VI and save it under a new name to be inserted into each new case. Now my program consists of hundreds of VIs whose only difference is the value of their "NEXT_CASE" constants. This causes all kind of headaches when I have to insert new cases into the state machine, and it is just too much for me to deal with.
I need to be able to use a global variable to keep track of the current case within my VIs. I could change it from a string to a number and add or subtract from it to determine which case the program should go to next. Since I'm usually only skipping from one case to the next (or the previous) I could use the exact same VI in most cases. Can anyone tell me how to create a global variable that contains the value of the case in my case structure that I could use within my VIs to keep track of the current case? Let me know if you have any questions.

Instead of defining the next state inside the subvi, why not do it in the main vi inside each state case? An output from the subvi could be used with a case structure to determine the next state. Sort of like, if the subvi returns 0 then next state is State3, else if the subvi returns 1 then next state is State4.

JPG does not support transparency, so even if you create an oval with transparent background, the saved JPG will have white background. Instead, save it as a PNG, TIFF, or GIF which preserve the transparency.
Here is one of many ways to create your oval:
Create a new file the approximate size of the oval. Add the oval with the Custom Shape Ellipse tool, and simplify the shape layer.
In the Layers Palette, Ctrl-click the oval to select it and copy the selection to the clipboard (Edit > Copy).
Then do File > New from Clipboard. This creates the oval with transparent background cropped to the oval size.
Then save it as one of the file types that support transparency (and also supported by the application where you are sending the picture to).
Note: Is is not even necessary to do step 2. That is only if some reason you want the oval to be tightly cropped. It is sufficient to delete the Background layer in step 1 (or turn off its visibility) and save the file. The oval will appear correctly in the book with either version.
