I'm thinking of switching fr PC to Apple, need help.

Hello All,
I have been a PC user since forever but since recently purchasing an iPhone I have come to really respect the Apple Way. <<G>> Soooo I am thinking about getting my feet wet so to speak and buying a Mac Mini when the product is refreshed rumored to be soon. I need some help and advise on what/how to do this. Do I just buy the MacMini and all my PC peripherals will work with it or what? I have a Dell 2407WFP monitor will that just plug into the mini and work as expected?
What about USB keyboard and wireless Logitech mouse? In other words how do I find out if my current hardware will work with the mini?
Please advise.
Thank you very much.
Looking forward (I hope) to the Apple World. <G>

We don't know when the refresh is happening. When people asked me back around the start of school time I was saying, "We never really know but I'd expect a refresh for the mini by the holidays for Christmas season." Well, that didn't happen and while the rumors are flying no one who knows is talking. So let me suggest that you look at the refurbs. You can get in on the ground floor without paying full retail and still get a full warranty.
Will all PC peripherals work? No, but most will and everything you mention will. Remember, the Apple way isn't the WinWay and frustrations will develop, especially if you try to use your Mac like a Windows computer. The times that I most wanted to pull my hair out were those times that I was thinking "This is so easy in Windows!" Well, it was with the Mac too, but different. If you haven't already found it, here on the support site there's a Switcher's 101 page which is really helpful.

  • Just Switched To  Mac's and Need Help With A Few Issues!

    Hi All,
I finally did it and switched to a Mac!! Never thought it would happen as I always felt guilty about the cost but after 5 laptops crashing on me - well, I just could not take it anymore! I managed to get a fairly good deal on a 15" Macbook Pro - 2.2/120GB version. I still don't know much about the mac way but am trying to learn so any help would be appreciated!
1). Is there any kind of video tutorial (preferably free!) that I can use that will help me learn the Ma OS X? I have Tiger 10.4.11 on my MBP (Did you hear that - MY MBP!!!)
2). AOL Assured me that they fully support Mac before I purchased (only 5 times!) but after I had bought it - they then told me that they do not! I got the AOL disk for Mac but it kind of ***** - features are missing etc. Does anyone in the UK run their Mac's with AOL and does it run as per normal? Any advice with AOL & Mac?
3). AOL also told me - hey, no probs - of course you can transfer all your old emails, favourites folders, personal filing cabinet from a PC to a Mac - but then, after I bought it - the so called dedicated Mac Experts at AOL tell me that simply is not possible - What advice can anyone give me who has switched from PC to Mac with AOL and who needed to transfer all their stuff over? AOL tells you totally different things depending on who you talk to and even from what their web page state! I am really fed up with them!
4). If I am ever successful in getting all my many years worth of data from AOL on a PC to a Mac, I am really intent of changing ISP's - what are the best ones for Mac that offer good Mac support, good deals and no charges for telephone support?
5). I was initially happy with Tiger as again, AOL assured me they supported it but not Leopard (even their website says so) and as I stupidly thought that it must be true (we are talking AOL here!). Now I know that they don't support anything Mac, I am contemplating moving to Leopard - I am a little cautious as I heard there were/are many bugs and unhappy leopard experiences - have the majority of these been solved yet and is it advisable to change to Leopard or should I wait until an updated version comes out?
6). My MBP was originally bought in the US but is registered to my name in the UK. it has 6 months Apple warranty left and I wish to buy Applecare. Apple says it 'recommends' buying Applecare in the country at which the item is registered (not bought, as I understand it). Does that mean, if I buy Applecare in the USA, Apple UK will still accept it and service my MBP as they would do any other or will I have to have the hassle of sending the thing to the USA if it needs attention? Applecare USA T&C's state only for the 50 States & Canada and Applecare UK state only for the UK & EU. Both however state international servicing?! I am a bit confused on this one. I travel a lot and need to know, that any Applecare I buy will not then be limited to just the places they state in the T&C's. As It reads to me, Applecare purchased in the USA/Canada will not cover the UK/Europe/ROTW and vice versa. Is this true or am I missing something or just plain thick?
5). I really wish to upgrade the 120GB HDD. My understanding is that it must be done by either Apple (who charge really silly money) or if correct, at an "Authorized Apple Service Provider" who of course will be much cheaper. If true, does this mean at ANY authorized apple service provider on the planet or just ones in which the item is registered? If I do the upgrade with a service provider, will Apple then also service the new HDD if something goes wrong as per normal anywhere in the world or will they then say, sorry, will not service the new HDD and you have to go back to the place where you had it installed, even though it was one of their authorized service centers? (that would really suck)!
6). The spelling and dictionary (and a few other things) are set to US English - how can I set to UK English? I have tried but to no avail so far.
    7) What and how should I set the Firewall settings so I will not get attacks by any form of malware? (I do not know much about this area and what the implications mean)!
Well, that's it so far - please bear my ignorance, I am so new to Mac's and hope this to be one of the smarter decisions I have made in life! Already I have strange sensation that I never had with all those years of Microsoft & PC's - I kinda feel reassured, safe, that if I have problems, they will get sorted, My life will now be easier and not having to worry so much about crashes, viruses, trojans etc, gives me a sense of liberation and contentment almost - very strange feeling but a **** good one! (if only the women in my life were like that)!
Thank You All From A PC to Mac Switcher (and NO! I do not feel guilty or scared anymore)!
    SuaveBhav!

I can help you with your questions about AppleCare, and can also reassure you that both the macbook pro and Leopard will be worth your investment and the time you are putting into figuring out how to get your data across. I switched from windows when I bought my macbook a year and a half ago and would not use any other system now. The other day I completed the transition by erasing parallels and Windows from my system entirely.
As for AppleCare, you can get warranty care anywhere in the world, no matter where you buy your AppleCare. Mine was bought and is registered in the US, I live in Slovakia, and have had it serviced several times in Austria and Slovakia under the warranty without any problems at all. There are differences, however, in exactly what the warranty covers from place to place, in accordance with the law in each place that AppleCare is issued. Even though I live in the EU, my agreement with Apple is an American one, and the American guarantees hold. If EU law would demand that Apple fix more things, for instance, than American law does, I could not get those things repaired under my agreement, and vice versa.
Basically, though, I understand my agreement with AppleCare to be that they will fix all problems/damage that are not my fault free of charge for two years after my initial one-year warranty runs out, and that is good enough for me.

  • Elements 11: switched from Windows to Mac   need help w/ serial

My friend upgraded, and no longer uses her Elements 11. She wants to give it to me. However she uses Windows, and I have a Mac. After I downloaded the program and it prompted me to enter the Serial Number, it says "This serial number is not valid for this product" - after some google research I believe it is because the serial number for Windows isn't compatible for Mac.
My question is, is it possible to find the serial number on this product that's compatible for Mac (like, do these products come with two different serial numbers; one for Windows and one for Macs)? Or is it just not going to work on a Mac at all? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

mrjayd, I switched from a PC to a G5 about 6 weeks ago & had the same problem. I used iPodRip which you can find at versiontracker.com. It worked like a charm, recovered playlists, playcounts, everything. Good Luck!

  • I think  I did something really bad..need help please

When my Iphoto 5 became very slow, I thought I'd be really smart and delete some files, but now I can't view my photos in the edit window, just the thumbnail. I think I deleted the IPhoto library. Can someone help me restore the settings to the proper way. I tried to import my photos from a cd, they import ok, but I can't view them. Help Please. Obviously I'm no pro here, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Laura

Well, that's a very bad sign but let's not give up yet.
You indicated that you may have deleted the library. IF that's correct, you're screwed. Do your best to locate it. Although I've frequently told persons never to mess with the innards of the library, at this point you can't make things worse. If you can locate the library, take it apart and look for large files - 250K or larger. Those are your photos. Put them somewhere safe for the time being. (Small files are thumbnails or aliases.)
    Again, post back with results.

  • Switched from DSL to cable, need help getting TC back on line.

I just switched from dsl to a cable modem to access the internet and my service provider doesn't offer support for my TC. Where can I find out how to change my settings (I guess from PPPOE to DHCP) to allow internet access from my wireless network? It seems like a matter of plugging the right numbers into the right place but I don't know where to find the numbers or where to put them exactly. Any help is appreciated.

Hello Sivad72. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
I suggest that you first perform a "hard" reset on your Time Capsule (TC). Then, perform a complete power recycle of your network components to get them "talking" again.
    Power Recycling Steps
    1. If the modem has a reset switch, use it to reset the modem. Wait at least 5-10 minutes for the modem to initialize.
    2. Remove power from the modem. If it has a backup battery, remove this as well. Wait 5-10 minutes. Replace the battery, and add power back to the modem.
    3. Perform a complete power recycle of your network components as follows:
    o Power-off the modem, TC, & computer(s); Wait at least 5 minutes.
o Power-on the modem; Wait at least 5 minutes.
o Power-on the TC; Wait at least 5 minutes.
    o Power-on the computer(s)
    4. Contact your ISP to have them perform a "modem reset."

  • Quality of imported movies is very poor: SWITCHER FROM PC TO MAC NEEDS HELP

I find the quality of the video images imported from my JVC gz-mg575e to be very poor. If I play my movies directly of camera on TV I have a crystal clear image. After importing the movie in IMovie 08 the quality gets worse.
I already selected the ultrafine mode for the camera.
Is there something wrong with my setting of iMovie?
Or is it because I use iMovie08 instead of Final Cut Pro?

This is a PAL camcorder I think. Are you are selecting PAL as your setting when you import into iMovie?

  • HT5492 I think some bady tracking my phone I need help APPLE

I think some body tracking my iPhone 4 I need helpAPPLE

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
The only somebody can potentially track you is if you have Find My iPhone enabled on your phone and you have given somebody else your iTunes account id and password so that they can sign in to icloud. If you've done that then change your account's password e.g. by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone, via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes or via http://appleid.apple.com

  • Hi my iPhone is a 3GS and I've tried now to update it for 4.3.5 to 5.0.1 but when its done downloading it comes up with your iPhone is not eligible for this build (i think this is the error message) i need help

    plz help me guys

Most often due two one of the following.
1 Install current version of iTunes, older Macintosh Systems will not support current version of iTunes, make sure you have current version of iTunes.
    Or
2 Your computer Hosts file is blocking Apple from communicating with iTunes. To determine this, search Hosts on computer, then open Hosts file with a word processor. If the Hosts file contains this, gs.apple.com it is blocking Apple. This line with its number must be inactivated (removing it works). A stock Hosts file does not contain this or block Apple.
Here is Apple information on this problem:
"This device is not eligible for the requested build: Also sometimes displayed as an "error 3194." If you receive this alert, update to the latest version of iTunes. Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, follow Troubleshooting security software issues.
Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to perform unauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. First you must uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer, then edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from the hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect.  For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you do not uninstall the unauthorized modification software prior to editing the hosts file, that software may automatically modify the hosts file again on restart. Also, using an older or modified .ipsw file can cause this issue. Try moving the current .ipsw file, or try restoring in a new user to ensure that iTunes downloads a new .ipsw."

  • For the first time I think to switch LR

I'm really surprise with myself having the idea to swith to Lightroom.
I've adopted Aperture since the launch, I've immediately loved his workflow. The first 1.0 with many bugs but with the confidence in Apple that new versions will resolve it (and in part it has happened). The rebate of the price, very serious solution. The efforts to give a real usable version changing the development team. I've always supported Aperture, I've also made many show of this software in cooperation with my local re-seller of Apple because I have really thinked that Apple with Aperture will arrive in photo as Final Cut arrived in the video. I speak always the best about it.
    But, there is a "but".
After 1 year and half the progress is stop. No idea of when 2.0 will be released, no idea of which kind of new functions will have. In the same time Adobe is really aggressive and competitive, many people I know are switching to Adobe solution because they are more "sure" for the future (and when you "married" with a library concept and software it's a very important thing, specially if we are speaking about raw adjustment settings that will be lost if you change software). Yesterday, during a show made by Adobe I've study very well Lightroom for the first time, I understand the potential and also the possibility to convert my library.
For the first time I really think to switch.
What do you suggest? I know that I'm in Aperture forum so all of us are using that software, but please, help me to understand why it should be better for me stay in Aperture without any idea on the future of this software.
    Thank you!
    Max
p.s. sorry if my english is not perfect.
    G5 Dual 1.8 | 2gb ram | Ati X800 XT 256mb | Cinema Display 23" + Dell 18"   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   MacBook Pro 15.4 2.0 ghz | 2gb ram

Like many here, I purchased Aperture almost when it came out, and followed all of the updates. I'd used Aperture for over a year when Lightroom 1.0 was released.
When Lightroom 1.0 was first released, I tried a 30 day trial. I shoot landscape photos, and had a Canon RAW file that was particularly difficult to process and extract because of the dynamic range of the image. When I opened that file in Lightroom, the RAW output from Lightroom was noticably better than Aperture. Without any adjustment, it was better than I could accomplish with Aperture under any condition.
In the end, I use Lightroom for one reason: the quality of RAW extracts. (Photography is about the image.) A bonus is that it's noticeably faster than Aperture on my equipment (Dual G5 and a MacBook Pro). I'm not so fond of Lightroom's modal interface. Aperture is much more convenient in that respect. But the image quality is the prime consideration, and Aperture's RAW processing isn't as good as Lightroom's, at least not yet.
I'm keeping Aperture up to date. I've also tried to organize my files and photo library so that switching between the two applications is possible. If Aperture pulls out in front I'll go back.
There are two good reviews of both programs by two different people. One is a Lightroom person that tests Aperture, and the other is an Aperture person that tests Lightroom. They differ on which application they prefer. If you read both, you'll get a sense of the strengths and weaknesses of both.

  • My E72 and why I'm thinking of switching to Androi...

I'm a Nokia apologist.  There's no denying it, I've been one of the people on these forums over the last few months who wades in amongst the rants and rages and says 'hey guys, it's not so bad, there'll probably be a firmware update one day' and waves a little Finnish flag in Nokia's honour.
And I have loved my E72.  One of the main reasons I got it was so I could be the only guy in meetings at work who DIDN'T whip out an iPhone (*shudder*).  Instead I get out my cool classy E Series Nokia, like a man who means BUSINESS.   It felt great being the only guy who hadn't spent 700 Euros on an overrated touchscreen toy made by a bunch of control freaks for people who can't HANDLE a real phone.  That's right.
I still love it.  Sort of.  I love that the battery lasts a good four days.  FOUR DAYS.  I enjoy waving it in the faces of my iPhone-owning colleagues and taunting them with its luxurious battery life.  It looks beautiful, so shiny and professional, and feels so RIGHT on the rare occasions when I actually use it as a telephone.
But.  There's always a but.  And for me it's email.
I don't know what it is about Exchange email programs, but my friends with iPhones say the same thing.  I didn't have any problems setting up my email accounts on my E72, but I just couldn't believe it when I found that MfE didn't tell me when new emails arrived in one of my subfolders.  Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person in the universe who uses server-side rules to filter emails into folders.  HELLO??  ANYBODY OUT THERE WITH ME??  MfE would synchronise my subfolders, but if I wanted to see if anything new had arrived, I had to go in and check every single folder manually.  I've asked about this several times on these forums, and can now only conclude that I'm the only person in the universe who uses server-side rules and that I'm insane.
In any case, this wasn't acceptable to me, but luckily I had a license for Roadsync, which I used on my previous N82.  Ok, it's kind of **bleep** having to run a separate application, but it does the trick, and LO AND BEHOLD, when I go through my list of subfolders it actually indicates which folders have new mail in them!  PRAISE THE LORD!
Or so I thought.  Now I discover that any emails I send aren't synchronised with the Exchange server, so there is absolutely no record of them when I'm back at my PC.  Once again, I'm probably the only person in the universe who wants to keep a record of all the emails I send.  But this is not acceptable - I need to refer to old emails far too often for me to trust sending anything important on my phone now.
And then there's the awful memory management.  If I dare to so much as open ONE BROWSER and, yes I know this is audacious, view ONE web page - half the time the phone runs out of memory and borks.  ONE BROWSER.  This phone has plenty of RAM, there must be something wrong with how it's managed.
And another email thing!  My Gmail account works fine in the standard application, except the HTML never loads and I can never retrieve the full messages.  I have the Gmail java app installed which I could use instead, but I refuse to resort to that on principle.
So I find myself in the peculiar situation of having bought a dedicated, hardcore MESSAGING phone, which doesn't have a nice big screen, or any other frills and bells and whistles, cause hey, it's a MESSAGING phone.  But it turns out, and it has taken me months to realise this, is absolutely awful when it comes to messaging.  Subfolders in Exchange!?  Is that so much to ask for?  And what about being able to multi-task a couple of apps without running out of RAM?  Five years ago I had an HP 6515, a truly awful awful awful phone, but the email management on it was absolutely perfect.  It did what I expected it to i,e. allowed me to manage my emails just like I do on my laptop.  I actually still have it somewhere, maybe I should dig it out!
I hate flashy touchscreen phones.  I really do.  I hate the way their batteries run dry if you so much as breathe near them.  But I'm now seriously thinking of switching to one of those **bleep** new Android phones that HTC is churning out.  I have no idea if the email clients are any better on Android, but if nothing else, it would satisfy my insatiable Google fetish.
And at least I still wouldn't be another mindless drone with an iPhone.
In the unlikely event that anyone has made it this far, congratulations and thanks for listening.  My therapist told me I had to get all of this off my chest.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I see your point. I have also resisted fat touchscreen phones and waited a lot for the perfect one, the E72, only to find it it is not that perfect.
In a way, it matches all I wanted... native strong encryption, decent hardware, etc. But it has some problems.
The issues with email are a problem in such a business communicator, but to me they are not very relevant (I don't need to synch my work email).
To me that biggest deal breaker so far are the problems with memory. I feel like I have a new gadget and am already getting out of error messages as if it's an outdated brick.
I have an 6220 Classic that boots with twice as much free RAM as the E72. Granted, the OS is a bit simpler but not all that much. I don't know what kind of muppet memory management is going on in the E72 but I boot with about 40 MB free RAM and after loading a few resident apps it is down to 31 MB. Then the more I use the phone the more it leaks until eventually it is down to <20 and either reboots itself or I do it myself.
After some hard resets I concluded that not installing fishy software does help with the leaks, but not much.,,, the thing leaks just by being alive. Every time you see that breathing light exhale it means that a KB has died and went to Symbian heaven.
Running fat apps like Ovi Maps, Sygic Mobile, Skype, Opera Mobile and others is a problem unless nothing else is running.
Are you taking a walk navigating with Maps but want to take a few photos of the scenery? I did that this weekend. Well maybe you'll be able to open the camera app while navigating... hmm "Out of Memory Error"... now, let's try again... There, I closed the Log, no more apps open... Ohh look, it opened the Camera, great... lets take some photos....-click- -click- ok... back to Maps to move on oh no... Ovi Maps closed itself.
Pity, pity... Could be a decent phone but the RAM issue is getting on my nerves. I'm starting to doubt it will ever be fixed by firmware flashing. The low amount of ram and its poor management is to me the single biggest flaw of the E72.
Unlike you, I feel Android is too immature and will only bring many limitations and other problems. Right now I'm out of ideas, except perhaps waiting to see what WiMo 7 is bringing... I do like the 9.3 FP2 but the overall experience is a bit annoying right now.... I'm always waiting to see which app will be closed due to low ram.
PS: I do love the one key torch, and truth be told, most if it all. If it only had memory beyond 2004-standards.

  • Hard Drive bottle neck.   Running SRT thinking of switch to SSD

I did the "windows experience index" on windows 7 on my new custom build.  I got 7.9 (which is the best score) on everything but the primary hard disk.  I got a 5.9 score for the primary hard disk.
I set up the drives with Intel's SRT with one 120 Patriot Wildfire Sata 3  drive (only using 60 gigs of it I am using for the SRT seeing that is the max and the other 60 gigs I partitioned it for extra storage space) and a 1 teribyte HDD sata 3 in the two sata 3 ports on my Gigabyte motherboard.   My Media drives are two 1.5 tb in a Raid 0 in the two Sata 2 slots but i don't think the "windows experience index" uses those in their test.
I was thinking of switching this in hopes of a better score and even better performace (even though I am pretty damn happy with the way it works now even with what windows experience index score of 5.9 is telling me)
I have a total of Two 120 Patriot Wildfire Sata 3 drives on hand.  I was thinking I should use them in the two Sata 3 ports on my Gigabyte mother board in a Raid 0 which should give me close to 240gig of system drive and a really fast rate of data transfer.
All i am using this computer for is CS5.5 Production Suite and some web sites most all CMS websites these days (maybe a few games but I am not a big pc gamer)
What does everyone think?   If you think it is a good idea for me to switch to the two ssd in Raid 0.   I am wondering if I should reformat all the drives first?   I won't have to change anything on my media drive seeing that is on the Sata 2 part.  If anyone has done this before I would love to hear how you went about it.
Oh and off the subject I documented the whole build and posted more than half of the videos on www.brentdolan.com   I am eventually going to come up with another name but can't think of any.  any suggestions?
    Thanks to everyone in advance.
    Brent

Thanks everyone for your input.   I think for now I will just leave the system the way it is. Why mess up a good thing right?
Just wondering if there was any extra advantage.   My current set up works awesome.  It is a dream to edit on but i was wondering if it could be possibly better.
I edit in AVCHD footage.   The footage edits great.  Alll real time play back.  Exporting to a H.264 is basicly in real time (10 minute clips exports in a little under 10 minutes)
So really what more can i ask for?   I guess I am just being greedy.  I should of went with two 2TB drives in a Raid 0 for my media drives but I got the others on sale (at the time was strapped for cash)
Since I built this machine so many more projects followed.
I guess it is like the old saying "build it and they will come"
Thanks again all for helping me make up my mind.

  • I'm thinking of switching

after years of using a pc, i'm thinking of switching to a mac book.
my question: won't i have to buy all new software? ms office, games, etc.

You can use Boot Camp to run Windows on your new Mac, so that you can still use all your old software when you need it.
Your Windows software will not work when your computer is booted into OS X, but the fact that you can still run Windows means that you don't have to buy all new software all at once. You can, for example, make all your new software purchases Mac versions, so that over time you eventually replace all your old Windows software.

  • Thinking of switching to BT... but have old main s...

Hi everyone, currently with Sky but thinking of switching to BT. Our phone sockets were installed in the late 1980s.
I have a mains socket coming in downstairs and two extension sockets (both in bedrooms). One of the extensions has the current Sky router connected to it.
If I go with BT I'm assuming the new hub will have to connect to the main socket (ie downstairs). My PC is in one of the bedrooms, there's no option of moving it elsewhere. It's too far away for cabling (plus cats would chew cables and would be a trip hazard). I'm guessing I'd have to connect the PC wirelessly; do BT recommened a card/adaptor for doing this or could I buy my own (if so, which?).
Our current broadband is incredibly slow and quite often drops. The wireless signal isn't that great either downstairs.
I don't want to have to spend out on an engineer and setup costs if this just isn't possible. I'm also a radio ham operator and worried about interference from hubs and any of those horrid PLT devices.
Any help/advice would be most appreciated!

    Hi
As Keith mentions about BT Infinity, if you do go up that route the infinity engineer will re-arrange what is your main socket although prob not install new ones.
You don't have to use the power line adaptors although they are only supplied with vision/you view.
If you just opt for ADSL BB Bt would only change/alter your setup for a price.

  • 5 year Customer thinking of switching to AT&T

I have been a very loyal customer of Verizon Wireless for 5 years now and have loved the customer service and all the equipment we have purchased over the years until now!
The first week of November 2010, I went in to my normal Verizon Store and upgraded 3 phones (all of which were regular phones upgraded to cellphones.) and also purchased a wireless remote connection card that all my devices including my home computer, could "supposively" work off of.  WRONG.  We have not been able to work the wireless internet card ever since we got it in NOVEMBER 2010.
Also, our bill is ASTRONOMICALLY HIGH!  We have NEVER had a Bill over $350.00 and that is including 4 Cell Phones and a Netbook! I got a bill in January 2011 for $950.00.  Then in Febrauary I got a bill for $505.00 making our total bill $1,505.00.  WHY????? The first week in December 2010 I signed and NEW plan at my Verizon Store to pay only $99.00 per month for phone service with 700 minutes and NOW i found out that we are still having to pay for 1,400 minute plan.
We were also suppose to receive 3 Rebate cards (2) for $100 (for upgrading to Droid2) and one for $50.00 for the regular cellphone upgrade.  We received (2) Cards 1 for $100 and 1 for $50 and the Rebate Center held the other $100 rebate card which we finally received a couple of weeks ago.
I am a very disappointed customer and have spent MANY hard earn money with your company.  I hate to even think of switching to another company but this loyal customer NOW can't even get anyone to help her to get the equipment working half the time.  We still can not use the wireless  internet card yet we are paying $60.00 per month the service.
If we could just have some type of customer assitance with this ASTRONOMICAL bill that we had not anticipated having due to signing a new plan, we would consider remaining Verizon Wireless customers.
    Regards,
    Sondrea

Since this is not a customer service forum, but a peer to peer forum, you would do better getting a response from Verizon if you either called *611 from your cell or 800-922-0204 from your landline phone. You could also email them from THIS  page.
Hope you get it worked out.
