My husband just got an iPad and we are wondering if he can sync the iPad to my lap top since I already have my iPhone synced to the laptop. We do not want to intermix the contacts, photos, etc from his iPad onto my iPhone or my iPhone info onto his iPad.
You should be able to sync both to the same iTunes - I sync my iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch to the same computer. With the iPad connected and selected on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, you can use the tabs on the right-hand side to select which of your iTunes content to sync to it, so you can control which apps, photos, music etc are synced to it, and (via the Info tab) from which email account your contacts are synced from. Your computer's iTunes should remember your syncing preferences for each device.

Your songs will only be where you put them.
Did you copy them from the old drive or your backup copy of the old drive, to the new one? -

I'm trying to update my daughter's Ipad2 to the new IOS 8 and it's got stuck on the connect to ITunes display. We don't have a computer to connect it to and it's never been connected to one. How do I get past this?
You can try a soft-reset of pressing and holding both the home and sleep buttons for 10 to 15 seconds so that it reboots, but you are likely to get the same screen. If it does then it will need to be connected to a computer's iTunes so that it can be reset back to factory defaults - do you have a friend with a computer with iTunes installed on it, or is there an Apple store nearby that you could try going to (if there is then preferably make a Genius Bar appointment at it, or don't go at a busy time) ?
Has she been backing up to the cloud ? If she has then she should be able to restore to that. If not then what she can redownload for free from the stores will show in the Purchased tabs in the store apps. -

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help

I don't have proof of purchase.. all I kept was the two cd's and the instruction book.I bought it in June of 2008, and don't think I have bank records that far back.I was hoping I could get the information from my installed copy.. there a long number on the bottom rightwhen I open it, but that didn't work and a number etched on the back of the cd... but it too didn't work....

It is not viewable on your old computer. We may be able to get you a replacement serial number. Do you still have your proof of purchase for Photoshop Elements 5?

I down loaded my entire contents of my desk top hard drive to my lap top. Now I don't know where my original files and pictures are. How do I find them or down load just what I am missing with out losing what I just installed ?
Hi Again, Well I found Carbon Copy Clone on my old hard drive so I didn't even need to download it. I just dragged it onto my desktop and I did as you said. Using CCC and within the folder of users which has my folder of old hard drive there now shows a file called.autodiskmounted (whatever that means) and then it has a version of my hard drive below that called hard drive 1, which has nothing, but above both of these folders, there is a folder with an old user name which shows up empty on the hard drive when I search it, but actually shows lots of folders on the CCC. So without getting too excited, it lists some folders and amongst them are folders I cant see normally in the old hard drive, like my safari settings and favourites, and movies music and pictures. However in the movies pictures and music folders I can only see a blackish square that looks a bit like a blank screen with the text.localised after it .
Does this mean anything to you / Is there apossibility they may be there? When I selected my new laptop as the destination i got this message below so I did not proceed any further as I'm not sure it will back up the files I need..

The icloud on my Mac Book Pro won't sync photos from my devices (iPhone and iPad) using photostream. The devices sync to each other just not the lap top. Everything is turned on in settings..iCloud and photostream.
You need to go in to iPhoto on your MacBook Pro and turn on photostream in the Settings/Preferences of iPhoto.

I have a new HP 7525 printer. I have a MAC desk top coputer. It has OS X 10.5.8. I need to upgrade so I can complete the install of my printer. Can I do this online(download a new system) I am also not sure if I need Snow Lepoard, or Mountin Lion. HELP!
You need to have Snow Leopard to get to Mountain Lion. ML is available for download from the Mac App Store.
The Snow Leopard (10.6.x) upgrade is available only on DVD from here;

Many third party applications (and some Apple ones) may need updates for SL (Adobe particularly) and definitely will for Lion/Mountain Lion, so check with the vendors for compatability before you upgrade.
Also, while most legacy PPC apps that run in Leopard will also run in SL under Rosetta, they won't run at all in Lion/ML as Rosetta support has been dropped. That may include drivers for some older peripherals as well as apps like Appleworks or Office 2004 or earlier and many Adobe apps.
For what it's worth, I'd go to 10.6.8 and try the printer. If it works OK, stay there until you have a chance to try the newer OS on someone elses computer. It's not for everyone, as may be attested by the number of requests for info on rolling back to SL. -

The next time I started Firefox, the tabs were at the top but none of the other advertised new features for 4.0 have ever appeared, such as the Firefox button, ability to group tabs, etc. I even downloaded 4.0 two times, with the same result both times. Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
