I need a new start up disc what do i do? i have one for my 12" powerbook g4 but i crashed on me i just got a 15" powerbook and the same disc will not reboot it says this disc will not work

If you want to learn more about your Powerbook's age, use the Machine ID in Apple menu -> About This Mac -> More Info along with 3 digits of the serial number to determine what version it is.

The serial number has only 3 important characters, and they are labeled ABC, where the x are any letter or number.
Some serial numbers are longer than others, but the 3rd, 4th and 5th place holder are the most important:
xxABCxxxxx...
A is the last digit of the year of manufacture.
BC is the two digit week of manufactrure (which may be 03 for 3rd week).
xx403xxxxx is the 3rd week of 2004.
What week, year, and Machine ID do you have?
