I need dynamic form string validation?

hai friends,
dynamic form string validation for
below code
var
resdata1:ArrayCollection=event.result.RES1;
for(i=0;i<resdata1.length;i++){
pn.visible=
false;
var formlabel:String= resdata1[i].spk_name;
frmitem =
new FormItem();frmitem.direction =
"horizontal";frmitem.required=
true;frmitem.label = formlabel;
if(resdata1[i].hasOptionsList==null){
txtinput =
new TextInput();txtinput.id= "txt"+resdata1[i].spk_name;
frmitem.addChild(txtinput);
else
newcb=
new ComboBox();
var tempdata:ArrayCollection=resdata1[i].ruleName;
//newcb.dataProvider=bindata;
newcb.dataProvider=tempdata;
newcb.labelField=
"spko_value";frmitem.addChild(newcb);
FormContainer.addChild(frmitem);
pn.visible=
true;pn.title=resdata1[0].ProfileName;

Hi,
Try this. Hopefully this will help you.
private function createDynamicForm():void{
                var myForm:Form=new Form();
                var frmNameItem:FormItem=new FormItem();
                frmNameItem.label = "Name";
                var myText:TextInput = new TextInput();
                frmNameItem.addChild(myText);
                myForm.addChild(frmNameItem);
                var myButton:Button=new Button();
                myButton.label = "Save";
                myForm.addChild(myButton);
                this.addChild(myForm);

  • Dynamic form validation?

    hai friends,
        i need dynamic form validation . give any example?

    You could write a page-level 'PL/SQL Function Body returning error text' validation where you loop over your dynamic form elements (htmldb_application.g_fnn), check the values and raise errors as needed.

  • Dynamic DataTable without validation of the rest of the form

    I'm having a bit of trouble implementing a piece of functionality with JSF and I'm hoping someone here will have some insight into how to accomplish this.
    I have a quite large form, with some fields requiring quite complex and expensive (both performance and actual money) validation (e.g. calling external web services, etc.). For the sake of the explanation, let's say the user enters details about himself, such as name, social security number, address, etc. Along with his details, he's to enter a limited subset of the details for each of his children (say name and social security number). We do not know at design time how many children the user has (obviously), so this part of the form has to be dynamically generated. Validation is performed on these children fields as well, so the user needs to be able to edit and remove children from the form.
    Prior to JSF (straight JSP), I used DHTML and a naming scheme for these records with a custom setters in the backing beans.
    What I have tried with JSF is to have a DataTable backed by a List. This table contains a single "Add Child" button which adds a new empty row to the table. There is also a "Remove" button for each row.
    This works just great as long as I allow all other fields in the form to validate each time the user clicks the button. However, as I stated before, these validations are very very expensive (transaction based costs) . Additionally, I do not want to force the user to fill in all the other required fields (close to 40) before he can go on with the children.
    Now, setting immediate="true" on the commandButton elements solves the problem of the other form fields validating. However, now the Children in the DataTable are never set because the update model values phase is never invoked, leaving me with empty input fields. I really do not care in this instance whether the data for the Children is valid or not, I just need to get them into the form.
    I can think of at least three possible solutions:
    1) Split up the form into several pages, like a wizard. However, the customer has rejected this option.
    2) Somehow simplify the Children section by providing a single entry and a read-only table. This way I can use a simpler read-only table and I can extract the values from the request parameters directly. However, this complicated the editing of previously entered Children. To make things worse, the order of the children has to remain intact.
    3) Create a custom HtmlInputText component that sets the values regardless of whether immediate="true" or "false".
    It is this last option that I do not know how to do. Which methods would I need to override in order to get the values to be set in my bounded Children object regardless of the immediate flag?
    And of course, if anybody has any other design suggestions I'm open to them!
    Thanks in advance!
    /Kris

    nboudani , let me answer your question first. The page does have a Submit button. It also has "Add Child" and "Remove Child", and some others as well. The Submit button has immediate="false". I also need form validation for interdependent form fileds (e.g. either Passport number or social security number are required), so I'm using the "hidden input field at the bottom of the form trick". This all works well enough.
    OK, I got partway there. jaguar2010's mention of valueChangeListener made me investigate that further. So what I did was twofold. Set the immediate attribute to true for the inputText elements in question (for the Children data) as well as for the commandButton (as before). Also, add a valueChangeListener for each of the Children which simply calls updateModel.
    So, view code:
    <h:inputText id="cName"
                           valueChangeListener="#{testBean.procCNameValueChanged}"
                           value="#{child.name}"
                           required="true"
                           immediate="true"/>
    <h:inputText id="cSS"
                           valueChangeListener="#{testBean.processCSSValueChanged}"
                           value="#{child.ss}"
                           validator="#{testBean.validateCSS}"
                           immediate="true"/>
    <h:commandButton action="#{testBean.addChild}" immediate="true" value="Add Child"/>
    ...bean code:
    public void procCNameValueChanged(ValueChangeEvent event) {
        HtmlInputText sender = (HtmlInputText) event.getComponent();
        sender.updateModel(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance());
    }So, that does take care of the problem with the model not updating. However, there are a bunch of other problems still left to be resolved. For instance, as you'll notice, there is a validator attached to one of the inputs. If this validation fails, the invalid text is not put back in the input field. I can't temember now, but I think that is because the valueChangeListener is not called in that case, so the model is not updated. Sigh...
    Another problem is that for each row in the data model's table, there is a "Remove" button (not shown in above code) to enable the user to remove an entry from the list of children. Well, because JSF process events in the order of their appearance in the view code, an exeption is thrown if the removed row is not the last one, and the last row has not been "saved" yet. That is, the valueChangeListener has not been called on the last row. What happens is that first the action method for the remove button is called, then the valueChangeListener for the last row is called. But by the time the valueChangeListener event is fired, the last row has chaned its index (because the remove action method was called first) and apparently this fact has escaped JSF so it throws an exception (property not found or something).
    I'm starting to wonder if JSF is the wrong technology for complex forms. Just seems to want to do too much for me, assuming I have a simple form.

  • How to implement Dynamic form validation

    Hello,
    I've been reading up on the forums about using the htmldb.item package to dynamically create form elements using a SQL query. Assuming I can generate the form dynamically, what approaches/options are available for implementing dynamic validation of the form elements themselves?

  • Validation of multiple empty fields in dynamic form

    Hi,
    I have created multiple fields dynamic form consisting of both mandatory & optional fields. Since the mandatory fields are validated by default, I want to validate the optional fields while submitting as PDF document dynamically and prompt me to continue or discard the submission. Also validating each & every field is not valid option as my form contains more than 200 fields.
    I have tried with the below script which I successfully used to lock the form but in validating the empty fields I have a problem. Although I populate all the fields in the form, still I receive the validation message. Can anybody help me out on this issue?
    for (var nPageCount = 0; nPageCount < xfa.host.numPages; nPageCount++) {
    var oFields = xfa.layout.pageContent(nPageCount, "field");
    var nNodesLength = oFields.length;
    // Set the field property.
    for (var nNodeCount = 0; nNodeCount < nNodesLength; nNodeCount++) {
    if (oFields.item(nNodeCount).isNull = 1 && oFields.item(nNodeCount).length < 0){
    xfa.host.messageBox("All the form fields are not completed, Do you want to continue","Field Validation", 2, 2);
    break
    Thanks,
    Jay

    I discovered how to accomplish this using the Manage Dynamic Form Wizard and changed the "Display as" field property from "Text field" to "Text" for the fields I wanted read only.
    Now I have another problem, the properties of one of the fields (for comments) was "Text area" when I changed it to "Text" I now have this extremely long line that streches the width of the browser.
    Is there a way to get this line to wrap? This is he line I'm working with...
    <td class="form_results"><?php echo KT_escapeAttribute($row_rssubmissions['sub_comments']); ?></td>

    I found the answer to this problem, Günter had answered it in another post.

  • Need to flatten dynamic form

    I have created a dynamic form for use by our sales agents. This form will be submitted to a web service to obtain a secure electronic signature, and the form needs to be submitted as a 1.4 compliant pdf. It will be submitted from the agents machine using the SOAP protocal.
    Is there a way to generate a flattened pdf when the user clicks a submit button? I am looking for a low-cost solution.

    Hi,
    U need to create the R/3 system in the portal after in SLD u need to add the properties of r/3 system and sap gatway and TCP/IP name in VA.
    Once SLD is connected u can check in ContentAdmin->web dynpro-> maintain SLD and check the SLD is successfully connected.
    After that u need to create the JCo names MetaData and model data once these are created ping the Metadata and model data successfully connected.
    Once Jco names are correct then only u can go import model form r/3 system
    There u need to give R/3 system properties properly.
    Import the model into WD naming supposr RAMA.
    register the model into webdynpro using the usedmodels.
    Then goto the Customcontroller the model nodes are avail in rightside of your cutomcustomcontrollercontext and do the Model binding.
    Once you get the model into your cuctomcontroller u can register the custom controller into viewcontroller and getting the nodes into view context.
    And goto the View and apply template and create the Table by using the existing node.
    Goto the init method of the View controller and add the following code.

  • Dynamic forms in struts

    Hi,
    I have a pretty difficult problem that I don't know how to solve using struts. I need to generate dynamic surveys from a database. The structure of the survey can be different for every different user. I really want to use the struts Form classes but I'm not sure how to do this. The only way I can think of is messy...
    For every new type of survey generated from the database...
    1. Generate a new class definition for the struts Form object and compile that.
    2. Every struts Action class that interacts with the new dynamic Form classes will need to use reflection on the dynamic Form object to be able to pull all of the data from that form.
    I'm sure there are many web sites where forms are dynamically generated and I would think this problem has already been solved. Does anyone out there have any ideas?

    Try to follow this way:
    1 provide actions chain in your configuration file like this:
             <form-bean
                  name="addFlatForm"
                  type="app.owner.forms.AddFlatForm">
                </form-bean>
            <action
                 path="/InitAddFlatForm"
                 type="app.owner.actions.InitAddFlatFormAction"
                 attribute="addFlatForm"
                 validate="false"
                 parameter="owner.extendedplace;place;/pages/AddFlat.jsp">
            </action>
            <!-- "/pages/AddFlat.jsp" - jsp page with html:form on it-->
            <action
                 path="/AddFlatForm"
                 type="app.owner.actions.AddFlatAction"
                 name="addFlatForm"
                 validate="true"
                 input="/pages/AddFlat.jsp">
                 <forward
                      name="success"
                      path="/shortinfo/Welcome.do"></forward>
            </action>2 first action(InitAddFlatFormAction) will be "prepare" action, where you must create new instance of the ActionForm descendant with Map, List, array etc definition. where your dynamic fields will be located , and fill the keys value from your database.
    public class InitAddFlatFormAction extends Action{
         public ActionForward execute(ActionMapping mapping, ActionForm form,
                HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response){
              //obtain parameters
              String[] params = ActionHelper.parseParameter(mapping, 3, Constants.PARAMETER_SEPARATOR);
              //get extended place from session attribute
              ExtendedPlace currPlace = (ExtendedPlace)ServletUtils.getAttribute(
                        request, params[0], ServletUtils.SESSION_SCOPE);
              //create form if form == null
             if (form == null) {
                  System.out.println("InitAddFlatFormAction::execute method: create new instance of action form.");
                  //create new form instance
                  form = new AddFlatForm(new HashMap<String, Object>());
                  //set form to selected scope attribute
                if ("request".equals(mapping.getScope()))
                     ServletUtils.setAttribute(request,
                               form, mapping.getAttribute(), ServletUtils.REQUEST_SCOPE);   //just set the value to selected scope
                else
                     ServletUtils.setAttribute(request,
                               form, mapping.getAttribute(), ServletUtils.SESSION_SCOPE);   //just set the value to selected scope
             //fill the form
             AddFlatForm flatForm = (AddFlatForm) form;
             flatForm.setValue(params[1], currPlace);
             return URIUtils.forwardAction(params[2]);
         }3 second action(AddFlatAction) will be "process" action. This action can be used when your data are successful validated.
    //any your actions4 form bean(ActionForm desctndant)
    public class AddFlatForm extends ActionForm{
         public AddFlatForm(Map<String, Object> map){
              super();
              //check input arguments
              AssertHelper.notNullIllArg(map);
              setMap(map);
         private Map<String, Object> map = null;
         public void setMap(Map<String, Object> map) {
              this.map = map;
         public Map<String, Object> getMap() {
              return this.map;
         public void setValue(String key, Object value){
              getMap().put(key,value);
         public Object getValue(String key){
              return getMap().get(key);
        public ActionErrors validate(ActionMapping mapping,
                HttpServletRequest request) {
            return (null);
    }And than in your jsp page you can use something like this:
    <%@ taglib uri="/tags/struts-html" prefix="html" %>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" prefix="c" %>
                                            <c:set var="placeId">
                                                 <bean:write name="extPlace" property="placeInfo.id"/>
                                            </c:set>
                                            <c:set var="groupId">
                                                 <bean:write name="groups" property="filterGroupInfo.id"/>
                                            </c:set>
                                            <c:set var="filterId">
                                                 <bean:write name="filters" property="filter.id"/>
                                            </c:set>
                                            <bean:message name="filters" property="filter.filterDescription"/>
                                            <html:text property="value(${placeId};${groupId};${filterId})"/>                                                                 Something like this are displayed in struts-example.war (example application for struts1.1)
    pay attention for classes
    EditRegistrationAction.java and SaveRegistrationAction.java
    sorry for bad english... :)

  • Dynamically Turning Off Validation

    I am using several h:inputTextArea's backed by an HtmlInputTextarea's in my page. The 'required' attributes are set to 'true'. The page also has a command button ('backBtn') that takes the user to the previous JSF page.
    The problem is that because of the validation, the user cannot go 'back' unless all the inputTextArea's have data.
    Is it possible to disable validation dynamically? I have tried this code ... :public String backBtn_action() {
        // User event code here...
         disableValidation = true;
         return "back";
    protected void beforeProcessValidations() {
         if (disableValidation) {
             firstNameTF.setRequired(false);
    protected void afterProcessValidations() {
         if (disableValidation) {
             disableValidation = false;
    } ... but it does not work. The validation error still occurs.
    This issue is a significant hurdle in my application. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Simply set the "immediate" property to true (by
    y checking its checkbox in the property sheet), and
    your backBtn_action() will be called during Apply
    Request Values phase instead of waiting until Invoke
    Application. What is more important, this will also
    cause Process Validations, Update Model Values, and
    Invoke Application to be skippedThank you, this is enlightening. I think I see what my issue really is (see below).
    -- which is exactly
    what you want for something like a "Back Button".
    If your application needs a Cancel button, you would
    want to do the same sort of thing, because the user
    is saying "please throw away the values I have
    entered on this form", so validation would not be
    desireable.At least in my case, I see a fundamental difference between Back and Cancel. While Cancel should throw away the data, I need Back to save the state of user input. This way when the user returns to the page (i.e., goes 'forward' again), the components are populated with previous input (he does not have to enter data into ten text fields again). However, as I understand it, for the data to be saved between pages UpdateModelValues must be called, but this phase is skipped when 'immediate' is true. ('Immediate=true' works for Cancel because if the user returns to the page, you want a blank slate).
    So far, am I understanding correctly? Assuming that I am, I tried this approach:
    Using 'Immediate=true' for the backBtn, I tried to manually set values in the bean value-bound to the textfield (since UpdateModelValues is not called to do this for me). This should save the state of the component to be redisplayed:public String backBtn_action() {
        // User event code here...
        getPresenterBean().setFirstName(
            (String)getFirstNameTF().getValue());
            return "back";
    }This does not work - upon returning to the page after going Back, the textfield is empty (perhaps the action is called to early in ApplyRequestValues for this to work?).
    This problem is real road block in time sensitive project. Any further help would be much appreciated.

  • Remove scroll bars in dynamic form

    Hi all,
    I'm starting to kick myself every time I put a post here.  Apologies and thank you for everyone's help - slowly but shortly I'll be one of the people answering the questions.
    Really easy one (I think).  A have a dynamic form, which updates a dynamic list.  Is there a way to alter a text area in the dynamic form, so that it is a fixed area  i.e. when you get to the end of the line/characater usage, the cursor goes down to the next line rather than creating a horizontal scroll bar and running forever into the distance.  I have played around with Wrap options without luck, the css doesn;t seem to play much of a part as this is an actual text area in Dreamweaver as opposed to a CSS clipping in the list.
    Thanks again,
    Nathan

    NJFuller wrote:
    Perfect! Thank you Albert.  Is it possible to add virtual wrap to a box in a dynamic list?  As that is not presented in a normal html form'ish style way.....?
    Hi Nathan,
    as a Dynamic List displays pure text only, you´ll need to help yourself by formatting the displayed column using PHP. There are several ways to add "virtual" line breaks, and the most straightforward (though certainly not the most elegant) solution would be to apply the PHP function wordwrap which wraps a string to a given number of characters.
    The following example will wrap the text after 40 chars, and the "wordwrap" function will - as always - have to replace ADDT´s default "KT_FormatForList" function:
    <?php echo wordwrap($row_rsqueryname1['columnname'], 40, "<br />\n"); ?>

  • XML data within dynamic form

    Hi,
    I'm trying to make a new XML Schema connection inside the form designer, I successfully made the connection and get the data inside my form, but I have only one problem, I have a huge number of records which I decided to make them as a dropdown list, they are about 11000 records, OK, now to the problem which is if I save the form as a static pdf form the list will be filled completely with the data came from the XSD file, and the produced file size is about 3 M, but if I save it as dynamic pdf form, the produced file size is about 400 K, but if I tried to access the dropdown list inside the file, it takes forever to load, without getting any result at the end.
    OK, my personal conclusion is that in case of the static forms the data saved inside the pdf file, but in case of the dynamic forms the data is not saved there.
    I need to save the file as dynmic pdf because I have a table that needs to add new row accoriding to the user click on a button of (add new row).
    So, can any one help me to fix this issue?

    Sorry, I found the solution:
    when I use the Adobe Reader 8.0.0 or Adobe Acrobat professional 8.0.0
    the stuff works normally, but in case of Adobe Reader 8.1.1 or Adobe Acrobat professional 8.1.1 this problem happens,
    Now I'll explain:
    1- I have a form with dropdown list.
    2- I want to populate this dropdown list from XSD file has structure similar to the following:
    =====================================================================
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>
    <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <xs:element name="shipRequest">
    <xs:complexType>
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="orders">
    <xs:complexType>
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="order" maxOccurs="unbounded">
    <xs:complexType>
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="shipVia">
    <xs:simpleType>
    <xs:restriction base="xs:string">
    <xs:enumeration value="Ground"/>
    <xs:enumeration value="2 Day Air"/>
    <xs:enumeration value="Overnight"/>
    </xs:restriction>
    </xs:simpleType>
    </xs:element>
    </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    </xs:schema>
    ====================================================================
    but with one main difference, that the element of shipVia has about 11000 of (<xs:enumeration ) elements.
    3- when I made the normal steps of make new connection to XSD file, it walked with me normally without any errors.
    4- incase I save this form as static pdf file, then open it with adobe professional, the menu is working smoothly and load the data inside perfectly.

  • How to create dynamic forms

    Dear All,
    How is it possible to create a dynamic form controls in ADF?
    Well this is how my use case goes:
    A web service returns a schema that display the list of questions that user needs to supply.
    <questions>
         <question>
              <type>text<type>
              <data>What is your Name</data>
         </question>
         <question>
              <type>booleanOneChoice<type>
              <data>Gender</data>
              <list>
                   <value>M</value>
                   <value>F</value>
              </list>
         </question>
         <question>
              <type>choice<type>
              <data>Salary Range</data>
              <list>
                   <value>Less than 1000</value>
                   <value>Less than 10000</value>
                   <value>Greater than 10000</value>
              </list>
         </question>
    </questions>When this is rendered, I am should be able to see
    this sample pages in a form layout style.
    <af:inputText label="Label 1" id="it1"/>
    <af:selectOneRadio label="Label 1" id="sor1">
    </af:selectOneRadio>
    <af:selectOneChoice label="Label 1" id="soc1">
    </af:selectOneChoice>Sorry the question above is very trivial but I just wanted to simplify things?
    Has anyone done this use case before?

    Hi,
    I tried that code actually but you need some sort of an event before the components are shown.
    Say an event like when a button is click then you do some PPR.
    But my use case is like this, I need to create the component list from my managed bean
    before the page is shown to the user.
    Here's what I tried.
    I created a binding on my managed bean. Then I created a hidden output text
    and then I bind the value to a method of my managed bean.
    The purpose of the output text is so that I could call my managed bean method.
    <af:panelFormLayout id="pfl1"
        binding="#{pageFlowScope.myBean.dynamicForm}">
    </af:panelFormLayout>
    <af:outputText id="ot2" visible="false"
        value="#{pageFlowScope.myBean.generateRandomForm}"/>     My managed bean method is the one that populates the form
    public class MyBean{
          private RichPanelFormLayout dynaForm;
         public String generateRandomForm(){
              RichInputText text1 = new RichInputText();
              text1.setLabel("What is your name");
              dynaForm.getChildren().add(text1);
              AdfFacesContext ctx = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
            ctx.addPartialTarget(this.getDynaForm());
              return null;
    }But, I notice that nothing is happening.
    What could be wrong in my approach?
    Thanks

  • For loops and dynamic sql string syntax

    Hi
    is there a why to loop through a dynamic sql string
    normally you would have
    FOR cur IN (select * from emp) LOOP
    but I have a dynamic sql string called l_sql
    I have tried the following
    FOR cur IN l_sql LOOP
    but I get
    PLS-00456: item 'L_SQL' is not a cursorCompilation failed
    Any ideas?

    You will need to use ref cursors and the OPEN v_rc FOR '<your sql string'> and then loop through it as you would with any other OPEN, LOOP, EXIT WHEN, END LOOP syntax

  • Create a dynamic form where selected text boxes appears, based on options chosen in a drop-down box

    HELP!!! Can anyone please provide some guidance on how to create a dynamic form where selected text boxes appears, based on options chosen in a drop-down box.
    I have a form which – based on the department that's selected from a drop-down box – will have different form fields/text boxes, etc, made available.
    Is this possible in LiveCycle, if so, can you please provide the script/info - as needed.
    Thanks,

    In the preOpen event of the second dropdown list you put something like (in formCalc):
    if (dropdown1 == 1) then
    $.clearItems()
    $.setItems("Year, 2 Year,  3 Year")
    elseif (dropdown1 == 2) then
    $.clearItems()
    $.setItems("3 Year,  4 Year")
    endif

  • How to create a dynamic form with bind variables :schema & :table_name

    My application has two LOV's, one to select a schema, and the next to select a table within that schema. I then have a button which passes me to a report which displays the data in that table.schema.
    I now want to create a link to a form where I can edit the record based on the rowid of that table.schema, but it doesn't appear that I can create a dynamic form where I pass the schema.table_name and rowid. Is this possible? Can anyone advise how I can do this? The form builder only wants a fixed schema/table name.
    Thanks in advance.
    Stuart.

    Hi Stuart,
    In this sort of situation, you will need to be a bit creative.
    I would suggest a pipeline function called as if it was a report.
    Then you can pipe out the required fields.
    Since you will have a variable number of fields, you could use two of the multi row field names for your field names and values.
    Then after submit, you can create your own procedure to loop through the fields (stored for you in the Apex package) and update the table as required.
    Not very specific I'm afraid, but it should work.
    Regards
    Michael
