I need help starting the server

Hello!
I am trying to do the HelloWorld rmi-example and I can't get the server started. Can anyone tell me if there's something wrong what I am trying to do.
At command prompt I type:
java -Djava.rmi.server.codebase="file:///C:/temp/Jaana/aa/examples_hello/examples/hello/" -Djava.security.policy=c:/temp/Jaana/aa/examples_hello/policy/ examples.hello.HelloImpl
I get "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: examples/hello/HelloImpl
My .java files are in the directory C:/temp/Jaana/aa/examples_hello
and all my .class files are in the directory C:/temp/Jaana/aa/examples_hello/examples/hello
java.policy -file is in the directory C:/temp/Jaana/aa/examples_hello/policy
Hopefully someone can help me, Jaana

Hi!
I am trying to use my computer as a server. So the server and the application is physically on same computer.

  • Need help starting the servlets,

    Hello,
    I have a program an application on my computer that I have written almost two years ago. In few words, it is a web based meeting scheduling tool. I used Tomcat Server to run this application and how it works, I start the application by typing http://localhost/Login.html, it gives me a page where I can log in or click on the registration link that woul take me to registration page. Here I type in my name, last namer, username and password and a servlet is supposed to save these data to a database that I have created before. Now, this is the exception that I keep getting:

    I want to mention that everything worked before an nothing has been changed but I just haven't started this app for almost 2 years and I know there is something that I need to do but I spent 2 hours trying to figure out an couldn do it. I started Tomcat server, I have all the classes in 'classes' folder of tomcat package, I have database set up. Now what comes to my mind is a problem somewhere in Admistrator tools and ODBC things. It's an Acess database. Anybody has an idea? Thanks a lot, D.

    I solved it. There was a problem w/ ODBC for MS Access, some driver was missing an it works now. Well, thanks anyways,D.

    This is very important cause it's for my job.

    Path config ?
    I have search but i'm not very good in weblogic config and debugging.
    Thx for ur help... Any infos are welcome...

    Do you have write permissions on your file system? I mean, wls writes
    out this file while booting the server, I am afriad the user starting
    the server dont have proper file permissions.
    Try starting the server with
    -Dweblogic.Debug=weblogic.initCommo, this will spew some debug output
    that might help resolve the issue.
    thanks,

  • Need help regarding the location of Exchange 2013 Logs for parsing

    Hi, I am trying to create reports based on the logs that are created on my exchange server. I am using
    exchange 2013. My problem is that I cannot handle every log, and instead want specific types of logs.
    I need help finding the specific locations of the following types of logs (If they even exist), so that I can parse them and use them effectively:
    Audit Logs (Mailbox logons, Mailbox permission changes, Mailbox property changes,
    Exchange store changes)
    Mail Report Logs (Mailbox size and growth, Mailbox storage growth, Enabled users, Expired and Soon-to-Expire Mailboxes)
    Exchange Traffic Reports (Details on size and amount of messages sent and recieved, Internet traffic [to and from], Traffic between exchange users)
    I understand this might sound like a huge undertaking, but any help that can be provided would be appreciated.
    Again, I need information on the locations of these types of logs on the exchange server, so that I can parse them. Collecting them all and searching through them is not practical for my available resources.
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Audit Logs (Mailbox logons, Mailbox permission
    changes, Mailbox property changes, Exchange
    store changes) ---- these are two type of logs, 1. mailbox audit logs and that is stored in each mailbox under dumpster
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff461930(v=exchg.150).aspx however you need to
    enable
    it for individual mailboxes... 2. admin audit log, this is stored into a system mailbox dumpster.... http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd335052(v=exchg.141).aspx
    Mail Report Logs (Mailbox size and growth, Mailbox
    storage growth, Enabled users, Expired and Soon-to-Expire Mailboxes) ---- there isn't any specific log for this, you would need to create some time of script to collect this every day for you and store it somewhere... This is a good start... http://www.stevieg.org/2011/06/exchange-environment-report/
    Exchange Traffic Reports (Details on size and
    amount of messages sent and recieved, Internet traffic [to and from], Traffic between exchange users) ----- This you can get from message tracking log... http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124375(v=exchg.150).aspx

    Need help accessing the router web page.  I have been told my router is acting like a switch and the IP address is not in the proper range.  I have tried reseting the router (hold for 30 sec and unplug for 5 mins).  Didn't work.
    thanks

    What router are you using?  Almost all Linksys routers use 192.168.1.1 as the default local IP address, but there is at least one that uses 192.168.16.1 , namely the WTR54GS  (not the WRT54GS).
    You need to try again to reset the router to factory defaults.
    To reset your router to factory defaults, use the following procedure:
    1) Power down all computers, the router, and the modem, and unplug them from the wall.
    2) Disconnect all wires from the router.
    3) Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes).
    4) Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release it, then let the router reset and reboot (2-3 minutes).
    5) Power down the router.
    6) Connect one computer by wire to port 1 on the router (NOT to the internet port).
    7) Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes).
    8) Power up the computer (if the computer has a wireless card, make sure it is off).
    9) Try to ping the router. To do this, click the "Start" button > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. A black DOS box will appear. Enter the following: "ping 192.168.1.1" (no quotes), and hit the Enter key. You will see 3 or 4 lines that start either with "Reply from ... " or "Request timed out." If you see "Reply from ...", your computer has found your router.
    10) Open your browser and point it to 192.168.1.1. This will take you to your router's login page. Leave the user name blank (note: a few Linksys routers have a default user name of "admin" (with no quotes)), and in the password field, enter "admin" (with no quotes). This will take you to your router setup page. Note the version number of your firmware (usually listed near upper right corner of screen). Exit your browser.
    If you get this far without problems, try the setup disk (or setup the router manually, if you prefer), and see if you can get your router setup and working.
    If you cannot get "Reply from ..." in step 9 above, your router is dead.
    If you get a reply in step 9, but cannot complete step 10, then either your router is dead or the firmware is corrupt. In this case, use the Linksys tftp.exe program to try to reload your router with the latest firmware. After reloading the firmware, repeat the above procedure starting with step 1.
    If you need additional help, please state your ISP, the make and model of your modem, your router's firmware version, and the results of steps 9 and 10. Also, if you get any error messages, copy them exactly and report back.
    Please let me know how things turn out for you.

  • Reloading JavaBeans in a JSP without re-starting the server

              The JSP will get recompiled but the bean is already sucked in by the server. Even if you break the session by doing reqest.getSession.invalidate() at the end of your JSP - it still persists. Even try removing your bean class and you will still see that the page is working. That proves it doesn't use .class anymore. However when you touch your .jsp at this time and try to re-display it in the browser you will get compilation error because .class cannot be imported. When you put a new class and repeat it, it compiles against that new class but still executes with the old one. Until you restart the WebLogic server...

  • Dynamically load the content without re-starting the server

    Let me explain the scenario.........
    I have a JSP in which I call a method written in a different class( java file).
    Now, when I change the content of the method in the class and compile it, how can I get the updated stuff in the JSP without re-starting the server.
    Even though I have to re-deploy the changed class, I need to re-start the server to get the updates effective.
    The env set up is on Tomcat
    fun_one

    FUN_ONE, I am using Tomcat 5.0 (though not 5.5), and have a Test application that I do not use WARs to deply. The Context is set with reloadable="true".
    I have this simple bean:
    package jsp.beans;
    public class ItemBean implements java.io.Serializable
         public String getjunk() { return "Hello"; }
    } And this JSP
    <%@ taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" %>
    <html>
      <head>
      </head>
      <body>
        <!-- Display the session ID for this user -->
        <p><c:out value="${pageContext.session.id}"/></p>
        <!-- Get the junk string from the ItemBean -->
        <p><jsp:useBean id="it" class="jsp.beans.ItemBean"/>
        <c:out value="${it.junk}"/></p>
      </body>
    </html> I run the JSP, then change the text returned by the bean, recompile it, then reload the JSP (force reload). The session id remains the same, and the text changes. Does this work on your system? (note, you do have to restart your server once after you set the Context to be reloadable="true")

  • Starting the server in Japanese mode after deployment in english mode.

    Hi,
    I have a problem
    We are developing some system for Japanese clients.
    Now problem is that we need to deploy all on their server which shows every hting
    in Japanese. Its going to be really very difficult for us.
    Is there any key or property in weblogic server by changing that we can change
    the language (english-->japanese)
    Actually what I wanted was first to run the server in English mode. deploy each
    and every thing sucessfuly.
    Then stop the server.
    Change that flag or whatever to use japanese character set.
    Start the server again so that it run in japanese language and having every thing
    already deployed.
    Is it possible approach?
    Any other suggestions are also most welcome.
    Thanks and Regards

    You would have to use the below command to give the root directory to start the server in MSI mode
    -Dweblogic.RootDirectory=path
    Example:
    java -Dweblogic.RootDirectory=c:\MyServerRootDirectory weblogic.ServerTo get more information on this you can check the below link
    Topic: Starting a Managed Server in MSI Mode
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/server_start/failures.html#wp1058998

  • Messages when starting the server

    Hi,
    I am using OC4J 10.1.3.
    When i start the server i am getting this message
    May 5, 2005 10:09:14 AM com.evermind.server.ejb.EJBPackageDeployment isIIOPConfigured
    INFO: Beans associated with application Twe will not be available via RMI/IIOP: GenerateIIOP system property=false, enableIIO
    P application setting=false, server.xml configured for IIOP=true
    May 5, 2005 10:09:14 AM com.evermind.server.ejb.EJBPackageDeployment isIIOPConfigured
    Any idea why this is coming. Does this mean that my beans are not deployed or I will not be able to access them.
    Thanks
    Kiran
    ----

    Kiran, there is no real problem here; the message, of type "INFO", is just to inform/warn you that your application is not properly configured for the purpose of accessing it through RMI/IIOP. Your beans are deployed and you will be able to access them as long as you are not using RMI/IIOP; otherwise, there should be other real error message printed out.
    Furthermore, this message is in the process of moving to some log file instead of popping up when the server is started. So, you probably won't notice them the next time you install a newer oc4j.
    Hope this helps.

    Check to make sure your applications are compatible. PowerPC applications are no longer supported after 10.6.

    Do a backup before installing.
    Yes, the lack of compatibility with Rosetta is what's kept me at 10.6.8.  I used to save everything in AOL for Mac OS X, both emails and things I'd written, until AOL came out with a completely different application and I realized that eventually I wouldn't be able to run the old AOL.  Before my last upgrade, from 10.5 to 10.6, I thought I was going to lose the old AOL, so I did convert a bunch of files to Word or pdf or both, and more recently I've converted some others, but I have something like 15 years worth of correspondence and other items, so it would be difficult to convert them all.
    Thanks for the articles.
    Thanks for the backup reminder.  My external hard drive died earlier this week, and so I bought two new ones specifically so that I could backup before upgrading (and so I'd have a backup backup and never be without at least one backup again ).

    If you are talking about Safari on the iPad, there is no version of Adobe Flash for iOS and there never has been. Clear Safari, close the app and reset the iPad.
    Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
    In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
    If you are talking about Safari on your Mac, you are in the wrong forum. But I would still clear the cache, quit Safari and restart the Mac.
