I need quick help - iDVD5 crashes

I apologize in advance for the redundance of this topic, as I realize that the issues I'm facing are probably largely documented here, but my problem is I have very little time ahead of me and I can't browse all the topics.
I have 15 odd hours to burn an iMovie film, and here are the issues I've encountered so far :
- When trying to burn a DVD in iDVD5 (updated to the last version), I either get crashes at phase 2 (processing menus) or stalling task bar as it is processing the video itself. Right now it's stuck, no beachball, just the radioactive icon spinning. The video sequence it's actually stuck in was processed in another try, only to stop at another farther in the film.
- I've tried both direct burning and imagedisk burning (via the menu and via that little "plugin" (press alt+ctrl), I'm getting only crashes and stalling.
My config is a dual 1Ghz G4 MDD, and I'm working on my internal HD.
I'm sorry if this has been covered, but I'm very very busy and I would appreciate any quick feedback on this.

Do you have 20GB+ free on your start-up hard drive?
This frequently helps solve some problems. Quit iDVD. Search for the file named com.apple.iDVD.plist and trash it. (A new one will be created next launch of iDVD.) Or look in: User/Library/Preferences. This may solve project loading errors too. Restart and use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions.

Problems with MSN Messenger - need quick help

I posted yesterday that I was having some trouble with my Ameritrade stock trading account, it was a java issue and they had me delete the cache in java and my Ameritrade worked again.
Now this morning I'm having problems with MS messenger which I use all day long for my job. When I try to sign in it keeps telling me it can't sign me in and I must not be connected to the internet. Which I am.
Its got some thing to do with my airport wireless thingy. Is there some way to "open" that up. When I unplug it and then replug it back in I can sign in to MS messenger for about a minute but then it somehow blocks it.
It keeps me on the internet but I get a message that I an not connected to .NET Messenger service. It is blocking me on my laptop PC now too. And it behaves the same way. After unplugging the airport I get a quick window where I can sign in but after that it blocks that .NET messenger service.
Is there some way I can open up the airport so I can get on the NET messenger service. Skype and iChat work but I can't use either for my job.
Does anyone have any suggestions (I'm begging here cuz i start work at 9:30 am and I need it working by then!).

Wow this is a mess, I want to add that again i'm sure its the airport extreme somehow. However on my PC laptop I can sign into messenger with an older version of it but when i try the new LIVE messenger it won't let me sign in.
The iMac version forces you to use the latest version so I can't use an older "non live" version to sign in with. I am praying someone can help me figure out what is wrong.

Need quick help closing port

I have created a server.java and client.java
The programs are not that good.
However I have a problem
I have ran my server a few times and each time need to use a diff port as the previous ones are being listnened to. Obviously from the last servers I ran.
I have switched my comp off and on many times and these ports are still in use.
Please help as I have no idea what is wrong.

I don't have a copy of XP at hand, so I can only give you some generalities.
Somewhere in the Control Panel, I think in the Administrative Tools folder, there should be a "Services" program that displays to some extent what programs you have running. Every program that's listening on a port should be listed in there.
It sounds like XP thinks you've only temporarily suspended your server program. I won't guarantee that's the case, but that's what sounds reasonable, and as a result, it is saving those "open" port numbers just in case you decide to resume the program.
If you have copies of server.java on that list (or rather, copies of the JVM), I would suggest closing all of your Java programs first, your web browsers to be on the safe side, and then "stop" and "remove" any remaining JVMs especially those that are tied to the ports you want to close.
(And yes, you are discovering the hard way why it's crucial that you remember to close your ports. The simplest way to do so is to write a method that closes all ports, and include it inside each and every try...catch block, as well as your exit routine.)

Need Quick Help: LR and PS issue

In my work flow, I do all of my adjustments in LR but I do send certain photos into PS to get fine tuned and then the file is usually re-imported back into LR so that I can organize my files and upload them to various sites and services.
The issue that I am having now, is that when I choose to save the photo as a full sized JPEG it no longer automatically imports in back into LR even if I manually do it. It only re-imports the photos automatically if I save it as a Tiff.
Someone recommended on another forum that I might need to change the file names which worked, but no longer linked the photo to the original cr2 file.
Could anyone help me resolve this issue?

You might want to read the thread. The OP is rendering the file to PS. Irrespective of whether the RAW file is converted to DNG or not this requires the creation of a TIFF or PSD.
Converting a TIFF to DNG would be pointless ,DNG is a TIFF itself, and create larger files as TIFF's zip compression, which is lossless, is not only the same as used by DNG but can also support layers which DNG cannot.
Personally the only time I open a file from LR into PS is when I have a issue that requires the use of layers as anything else editing wise can be done in LR. I always save with the layers intact so I can reopen if I need. This does create pretty large files, from even smallish originals, let alone 21 MP cameras. However I have loads of hard drive space. If you are short of hard drive space then just enable TIFF's zip compression, this will be at the expense of longer save and open times, but otherwise have no effect on the files itself other than reducing its size considerable.

Need Quick Help with Unordered List in Table (text too small)

I have a table with 2 unordered lists and the font size is smaller than what I need.
I'm using CSS and have checked all of my font sizes and I have all of what I consider my normal text set to 12.
When my client views the page on his browser, the unordered lists appears to be about a size 8. I checked on my cell phone and I see what he's talking about.
I set the <ul> and <li> to font size 12, but the problem still exists.
It's almost like the table is scaling the text down.
I worked all night trying to figure out what I've done wrong (newbie ) and I can't fix it and my client is waiting!

I tried adding a new CSS rule to the table font, but it didn't work.
I also edited the <tr> and <td> but still didn't work.
I think something higher up is messing the table up. I don't know anything about specificity or how to see who has the power to overwrite the table.

I am very lost and need quick help. my i photo is not working, can't open it. unexpected closed-

Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.

- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?

Not a programming type; need quick help for current project

I am helping a non-profit which is involved in a significant legal battle work with many thousands of e-mail messages for electronic discovery. While reasonably technically competent,I am not a programmer and don't have time to learn scripting, if that is the way to solve my problem.
I am using Microsoft Outlook 2003 (full version) to manipulate the e-mails necessary for the discovery into manageable folders. I have Acrobat Professional 8, and am turning the e-mails into packages using the Acrobat properties/options that embed in Outlook 2003 when both pieces of software are installed. The resulting packages have about 1500 .pdf files that must be reviewed by the attorney to determine if any of the documents are privileged.
My plan was that the attorney would review each package using Reader 8 and put an electronic yellow sticky on each document that was privileged so that we could go ahead and do the Bates numbering, but then be able to search on the sticky to pull out the documents into another package that would not be part of the discovery.
Now, the flaw in my plan - each individual file created through my process must be opened in Acrobat and permission to use the commenting function in Reader set for each individual document.
Because all the individual documents in the package will be open at the same time, could one of you marvelous linear thinkers out there give me a fix for this? There has to be an easier way than to open each of thousands of folders!!!!

Unfortunately there is no programmatic way to "Reader Enable" (which adds the commenting ability in Reader you speak of) with Acrobat. Adobe creates a separate server-based product to allow you to do this, called LiveCycle Reader Extensiion Server.

Need quick help please!! Fast!

Here is my code... I know it's long, but it's simple. The only part I'm having trouble with is the very end. You don't really have to know what point of this to help me figure out the problem. Near the very bottom, you'll see the line "double refund = (startcancount/startendcount)*premium;". For some reason, this keeps coming out as zero, even though I run it through the debugger and every single one of the variables has a non-zero value. I cannot figure it out. I tried changing the data type to float to no avail. What is the problem!?

I just got my nano today, and im a total nood at ipods, so im just wondering how to get the slbum art, because it seems to look real cool. Ive tried getting the manuals and what not, but they wont load on my PC! Any kind of help will be great!! PLEASE HELP ! ! !

You select the file(s) for a specific album, then choose File > Get Info, then click on the "Artwork" tab. You have two options, paste it in from the clipboard or click "Add" to select a JPEG/etc file to use.
iTunes doesn't automatically add it. You'll have to find an image from the web, like from Amazon. There might be software for the PC which will find it. The Mac does.

Not sure whether you are looking out for free space or used space.
If you want to know how big is the schema, then execute the following query:
select sum(bytes/1024/1024) SIZE_MB from dba_segments
where owner = <Schema_name>;
If you want to know how much free space is available in your database then execute the following query :
select tablespace_name, sum(bytes/1024/1024) FREE_MB from dba_free_space group by tablespace_name;

Sell them to someone who lives in the UK. You cannot use a UK iTunes card with a US iTunes Store account, and the Terms of Use of the iTunes Store prohibit your even attempting to use either country's iTunes Store from Dubai (or anywhere else outside the country of the applicable iTunes Store)

[solved]Oops. Stuck at "partition harddrive" Need quick help...

I want to try other filesystem types beside ext. I don't see any options on the Arch install for JFS or ReiserFS. So I thought I would do the partitioning with something else. So I popped in my Puppy Live CD and in gparted all the formats besides ext, fat and swap are greyed out. What's up with that? How do I use other filesystems?

(G)parted are for partitioning - that has nothing to do with what filesystem will be actually put onto the partitions. I guess in the installer the "format" part is what you're looking for. I'm about 1/2 positive that Arch installer lets you choose the filesystem, at least jfs and xfs except for ext2/3. You just need to proceed beyond partitioning.
EDIT: Another piece of information is that partitions have "types", which is quite meaningless thing, but it's there. The most common types are "linux", "linux swap", "fat", "ntfs" (and there are many others). This is what a partitioning program lets you set. Again, this has no influence whatsoever on what filesystem you put on.
EDIT2: Thinking some more gives that maybe gparted even lets you format partitions - but it might as well be that the formatting tools for jfs, xfs and reiserfs are not included on your puppy cd, hence gparted doesn't let you format a partition with those.
