I need to display my server time...

All that I need is just to display my server time... I could
achieve once using php, but then I am stucked.... ! how ? well....
cache memory is harder than I believed before... please all your
help will be so helpful !

yes, that is what I've done.... but then it displays the time
correctly ONCE, it does not update itself... then, if I navigate
the website and the come back to the same page where the"clock" is,
time is the same than before, because of the cacché memory
that keeps the value and does not let me request server again.... I
needto find the way to request, not every second, because it would
require a lot or resources, but every minute at least.... or make a
code form a timer in flash that will start with the time
requested... in this case, it will anyway be necessary to request
the PHP everytime I come back to this page... but ... How do I
achieve it ? I have used many "cache-killers" methods, but
nothing... !

    The only thing that would have to change is to set the date as the server date, rather than the client date.

    go to system administratioon-system configuration-support-support desk-browse deployment-check for com.sap.porta.navigation.masthead.par and download it to nwds.
    when you import it to NWDS jar file will be missing so you need to manually add that to PORTAL-INF/private/lib.
    once you do this go to HeaderiView.jsp in PORTAL-INF/jsp folder.

    once you do that select qucik par upload from the tool bar and deploy it.

    Take a glance through the man pages for date.
    It's been a couple of years since I last used it,
    but when I did, it was for the express purposes
    of changing the system date to a specific time.
    It was on an old SB100 with an unpatched OBP.
    Their system clocks would wander all over the place
    until the problem got fixed with an OBP update.
    If I recall, the command syntax I used was something like ...
    # date HHmm.ss <enter>
    For example -- "date 1832.50" would be for 18:32:50 o'clock of the system's current day and timezone.
    ... then I used the simpler date command syntax to check up on the results.
    # date <enter>
    Other forum contributors may have their favorite suggestions, as well.

    Hi Rahul,
    As you already know about the masthead.jsp file, the java part is compiled and executed on the server side.
    So you can just use the "new Date()" in the java part (inside <%).
    Then you can easily retrieve the date and some other like year, month, etc from that.
    If you only need milliseconds and want to calculate yourself, you can use System.currentTimeMillis().

  • JSP page display wrong time when compared to the server time

    This problem seems to weird but it is happening
    I have web application running where time is displayed in the page. In this application time is very critical. Currently, time is an hour behind the orginal time.
    I checked the server it is displaying proper time.
    As a matter of troubleshooting, I wrote a java program and run the program in the same server, where the application is running. The java program returns me proper time , but JSP is still displaying time an hour behind. To trouble shoot further, I created a test jsp page to just display the time and accessed the time and the jsp displayed wrong time as well, an hour behind.
    I am running[ tomcat 4.0.3 and j2sdk1.4.3 in suse linux enterprise server 9.0

    When I run Date in linux server it gives 3:30 PM EST 2004
    I am really confused, why this is happening, If you have any solutions or idea please post the solution.

    My guess is that the weirdness is caused by Daylight savings time.
    I will presume that you and the server are in the same timezone :-)
    Alternatively it could be caused by getting a different Locale.
    Try the following
    Print out "date.getTime()" value (ie long representing number of millis)
    They should be the same (or close) in both the app and in JSP
    Try simple date format in your JSP as well - what does that result in?
    Print the calendar object, and look for the difference.
    It might be in Locale, Timezone, or whether DST is set or not.

    I'm using ADF BC and I have a use case where I need to display the last date/time when a user access a record in a view. I have a user table that I access thru a view object where I can store the date/time of the fetched record. A viewLink from that view object gives me the detail information in that record.
    I generated a ViewRowImpl class and added this to the method that get the time and date (DtHeureDernAcces is a private variable in defined in the class):

    How can I get around this problem ?

    The complication here is that &P7_DATE_SHIPPED. and &P7_DATE_ORDERED. are session-state variables - they don't actually get updated until the page submit completes, which is happening AFTER the dynamic action.
    JavaScript might provide an alternative method that will pick up the current values of those fields. You might try something like:

    I an using fusion 11.1.2.1 32 bit. I have Copied the Icons as well as GIF files in C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_FRHome1\forms\java folder.
    At button property i set Iconic to yes
    and file = addrow
    Icon not display at run time.
    but when i set file = abc.GIF
    image is displaying at run time.
    My doubt is that ICO file not displaying at run time while GIF file are displaying.
    Do i need to change configuration ?

    First Try this steps
    To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
    Double-click My Computer, and then click Options on the View menu.
    Verify that the Icon file type appears on the File Types tab. If the Icon file type does not appear in the Registered File Types box, skip to step 10.
    Click Icon in the Registered File Types box, and then click Edit.
    Verify that the following settings exist, and then click OK:
    The Description Of Type box contains Icon.
    If there is a Confirm Open After Download check box, it should be selected.
    If the settings do not appear exactly as listed in step 4, click Remove, click Yes, and then click OK. If the settings do appear as listed in step 4, skip to step 10.
    Click New Type.
    In the Description Of Type box, type Icon.
    In the Associated Extension box, type ICO.
    Click OK, and then click Close.
    Use Registry Editor to view theHKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.icokey, and then verify that the default string contains the following value:icofileIf the .ico key does not exist, create it, and then insert the value listed above. If any other values exist in the .ico key, delete them.

    in default website folder (wwwroot) i have a text file named myfile.txt within which i have written some words, for example the word "computer".
    i started capturing traffic via Microsoft network monitor
    now via my client's browser, i browse this address   http://myserver/myfile.txt & my text file contents are shown within IE.
    now i need a display filter in Microsoft network monitor which find this packet for me ( i meani need to find the single http packet which contains the word "computer".
    i spent a lot of times but it didn't result.

    You can use the ContainsBin plugin and there's an example in the library under Search Frame.  For example the following looks for the word FONT.
    ContainsBin(FrameData, ASCII, "FONT")
    Also, just to let you know, we released Message Analyzer (http://blogs.technet.com/MessageAnalyzer), which also has this capability and a lot of other things that might help, such as regex expressions.

    My main concern is getting a means script-wise to mimic the functionality of the batch I posted.  The syncing has never been an problem for our engineers (that I know of).  The batch is but a task we can only run on xp, so I wanted to be able to
    try to migrate the task over to windows 7.  If the task is outdated and unnecessary, as I told jrv, I'll suggest that it is to the sys admin.  To me it is a scripting question, I'm a programmer at heart and look to find ways of automating tasks with
    code.  I'm new to Powershell and not experienced with system architecture design.

    Again - there is no way to do what you are asking. w32tm is the only utility that matches time but you are not using it correctly.  You are reporting the offset but not the delay.  The only accurate way to test sync quality is by running a tape. 
    This is a function of w32tm.   THe tape will show you the variance over time.  The other way I have used is to set the time service to generate a log and scan the log.
    Win32_UTCTime will tell you the time at remote servers but it cannot tell you the network delay.
    If you are only interested in matching seconds then you can use it as well as the w32tm query that returns network time.  These can be extracted and converted into time objects.
    As an exercise to learn PowerShell this could be useful.  Just capture the output of w32tm and parse it in PowerShell.

    You should also use your search engine to learn more about what is available and how it is used.

    remain.  The classic PC and member server are pretty much obsolete.
