I no longer have the info icon for a manual sync.
I'm trying to do a manual sync with an iMac which I've done many times before and the "info" icon is missing from the list of syncable features. What am I missing?
Well, yes my questions were answered but of course I came to realization that Apple in their hearts-of-hearts needs to herd everyone to iClod. (Tonque in cheek). Sad. or as SJ would say, it's a total POS.....

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc. -
I want to upgrade my iOS 4 to 5 on my Ipod Touch but I no longer have the original computer I used to sync with so it keeps saying I will loose all of my apps and stuff on my new computer..... SO how do I tell it that my new computer is now my regular computer so that I can upgrade my iOS on it without it wiping all of my music, films and apps on it??? Recently Got a Mac Book and was wondering if there is any software that Apple recommends to import my music/pics/video from my Iphone onto my computer. I no longer have the previous computer and if I sync my Iphone I'll lose everything.

You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new windows installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup! (Windows tip). For a Mac use Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner.

Started up a new username, and don't have the info to for the last one!
I started up a new username of apple itunes, and of course forgot the information on my last one but had purchases from it. Now I can't authorize my computer from the old one
What can I do, I have a few movies and apps that I paid for, And I am hopeing that it isn't a complete loss. Tried going through the forget password but nothing is working. I also no longer have the email address it was set up with.

May I be bold enough to recommend that you, from now on, record the serial numbers of all your software in a place where you can't lose them (like a text file stored on your computer and backed up in "the cloud")? -
I no longer have the computer I used to sync my Ipod Touch when it was new. Now the Ipod is locked and disabled and Itunes requests me to enter the passcode which I cannot do becasue the Ipod is locked! Any suggestions?
If you cannot connect it to the computer to which the device was last connected (or the device was never connected to a computer) you will have to use recovery mode to completely reset the device, losing all data:

Help! I no longer have the email address for my itunes account and cannot verify Apple ID
I am trying to log into my itunes account and it tells me I need to verify my account by logging into my email. My AppleID is an old email account that I can no longer access. I want to log in to itunes to update my email account on file, but when I try to log in it says I need to verify my account. I'm stuck. Does this mean I can no longer access the money I have on my itunes account since it doesn't let me sign in without verifying?
Frustrating!i am having the same prob spent almost 2hours in apple store in kingston and they made me email apple support in the end who told me to sort it online when it didnt work in the first place i phoned up and was told they would email me back and still waiting for issue to be resolved i swear dell is bloody easier at least you can talk to someone v.unhappy especially the amount of money these products cost they should know better tut tut

I recently lost wifi capabilities on my 3rd generation ipod touch. I reset the network which did nothing so I did a complete reset. This actually removed the Safari icon off my itouch and still wifi is completely grayed-out. Has Apple removed the wifi capabilities to force the purchase of new items?
I find it completely disturbing that only recently has this become an issue for 3rd generation itouch users.
Can someone please help as I am exceptionally frustratedThis problem?

One of the things I've found with OS X (at least with Snow Leopard, which is my first excursion into OS X), is that all too often the thumbnail displayed on a file, whether a file created or one downloaded, is a false thumbnail. That is, when you do a Get Info on the file the icon in the upper left is the generic icon for that file type, rather than the thumbnail displayed in Finder. Makes it a bit difficult to copy.
Apparently Finder uses Preview in the background to generate the displayed thumbnail without actually creating one.
What I've resorted to doing, particularly with graphic images, is to process them with GraphicConverter - I have its prefs set to automatially add thumbnails and previews. With an individual file this means opening it in GC and doing a Save As. However, a much easier and faster way is when there are two or more such files; I put them in a common folder and drop the folder onto GC. GC then opens them in a catalog view, in the process adding real thumbnails and previews to each automatically. Doesn't take long to do several hundred files that way. -

I no longer have the Snow leopard disks so I can't just reload the OS but I told the person I sold the MBP to that it has SL on it so I don't want to wipe it off. Is there a way to remove my personal info without resorting to reloading the software again?
Open Accounts preferences. Click on the lock icon to authenticate. Click on the Add [-] to create a new user account. Give the new account admin status. Set the account for auto-login then restart the computer. The computer should boot into the new user account. Open Accounts preferences, click on the lock icon to authenticate. Select your old account and click on the Delete [-] button. Select the third option to remove the user folder and also check the option to securely erase. If given the option to select the number of passes select one pass only. This should remove your data from any prying eyes.
