Did this back along to mine. Plug it into itunes on your pc (or Mac) and click on the ipod icon on the left hand side. When the device options come up on the main screen, click on restore. Follow the steps and it should restore to factory settings. If you had icloud activated on the ipod all previous purchases should be in the cloud and ready to download onto the ipod afte rit has been restored to factory settings, otherwise you'll have to download them all again. Maybe you have multiple accounts that's why your purchase history is empty. You can try checking for possible Apple IDs that's existing for you or you can ask for assistance from support.

apple update erased my playlists, they are no longer showing on my iTunes. I am missing songs that do appear in iTunes and should be on the ipod but are not, and new playlists that I didn't have are now where mine should be. Any suggestions as to getting "MY" ipod back?

The chances are your replacement came with an older version of iOS. Go to Settings > General > About > Software Version... does it say something between 4.0 and 4.3.5?
Plug it in to a computer with iTunes to update it. When you launch iTunes it should prompt you to update to iOS 5.1. -
Accidently right clicked the blue star and now it is gone. How do I get it back?

Take a look at this to make sure your settings are optimized to the best it can be.
If all else fails, try and restore through iTunes, set up as a new iPhone and manually sync your apps and media back to your iPhone.
If still persists after this, you might call Applecare and see if they can run a battery diagnogstics.. -

If the battery is dead, if the SIM has been removed, or if someone else has the phone and they have restored it, it will not be shown. Also, if you located it once and then sent a remote wipe, it disables the abililty to locate the phone with Find My iPhone.

i tried to resore my ipod 5 and the cable disconected and now its in recovery mode, how do i get it out?
If not successful try the remaining items of:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

I just updated my iTunes, and I need to delete photos from my iPod 4, and there is a Photo Library that synced to my iPod when i plugged it into my computer, and now it doesnt have the option to delete them off my iPod. How do I get rid of these photos? I have read other questions that say to plug the iPod into the computer and like un-sync it, but I downloaded the new iTunes and it doesnt have a photos tab. Some albums I put on my Mac to later sync with a Touch appears as seperate tracks and not a single album. How do I get them back together again other than a playlist. I do not want the tracks showing up as albums on the Touch?
Are your tracks pat of a collection? Different artists, but still one album? Then mark them a s acollection or set the album artist. See this guide on how to group separate tracks into albums:
