I.P. Address importing ?

when i installed my itunes i thought it said somewhere that you can put in an ip address and get the files from that computer. i chose not to at the time, but now want to.. any help here on how to do this ?? thanks a lot !

If I understand correctly, you have both printers connected by a USB cable to the modem/router.
You have to network a printer in order to receive a IP address from the router. (Wireless or Ethernet connection)
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the Deskjet 5440 and the Deskjet 4280 only have a USB connection available.
Sharing the printer, won't provide a IP address. Both models don't have Wireless or Ethernet capabilities. Therefore you won't be able to setup them up on a network and you won't be able to setup the ZTE Zmax cell/tablet.
You would need a printer with wireless capabilities to do this.

10.4 address import into 10.5?

My hard drive went down. I Couldn't see loading 10.4 back on so i bought and installed 10.5. I have a pretty recent back up (drag and drop to an external drive) that includes my whole ~/Library directory. I would like to get Address Book pointed to my back up of my old Address Book so it can slurp down all the contacts and i can be back in business, but hitting import and trying all the options, it just doesn't seem to want to accept any file in my old /Library/Application Support/Address Book folder.
I was able to import all my mail painlessly, what gives? Is Address Book totally different in 10.5? How could they not include an option to import a 10.4 address book? There has to be a way right?
Any help would be appreciated

Here's an easier solution:
Folders You Can Move to Your new Mac
From the Home folder copy the contents of Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures, and Sites.
In your /Home/Library/ folder:
/Home/Library/Application Support/AddressBook (copy the whole folder)
/Home/Library/Application Support/iCal (copy the whole folder)
Also in /Home/Library/Application Support (copy whatever else you need including folders for any third-party applications)
/Home/Library/Keychains (copy the whole folder)
/Home/Library/Mail (copy the whole folder)
/Home/Library/Preferences/ (copy the whole folder)
/Home /Library/iTunes (copy the whole folder)
/Home /Library/Safari (copy the whole folder)
If you want cookies:
/Home/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist
/Home/Library/Application Support/WebFoundation/HTTPCookies.plist
For Entourage users:
Entourage is in /Home/Documents/Microsoft User Data
Also in /Home/Library/Preferences/Microsoft

How to set default bill to/ship to flag for addresses imported via DTW?

Hi experts,
I'm currently preparing the initial import of Business Partner Master Data but I'm struggeling a bit with the logic behind the dtw templates.
From my perspective the best way should be to import first the Business Partners general information and then import all addresses with the seperate address template. But how is it possible to define the default bill to and ship to addresses in this template!?
As alternative way I thought about importing the default ship to and bill to addresses with the general master data and import all additional addresses with the address template. But the geneal BP template seems lacking some fields like street no for example!? What means these addresses will miss this information.
What is your recommened way in this case?

I remember the account addresses have to be imported through web services two years again, when I did my first siebel conversion in V14. Is it still true in v16?

Windows mail address import

can't import contacts from windows mail...only choice is outlook express...thanks!

What's really annoying me is that I managed it when I got the phone but have since had to reset the phone, lost all contacts and now can't get them back.

I am going to use TAPS and I am attempting to add phones via BAT with Dummy MAC address.
I named each device 000000000001, 000000000002 etc. The rest is normal entries.
When i export I check the bnox to use Dummy MAC
I am getting an error that the device is not unique in the lods and no phones are added. I checked and there are no MAC addresses/Phones/DN's with the same values.
Any advice is welcome.

You can only do so if images and videos are taken directly using the iPhone camera but not sync from computer.

Can i import from a text file (text file only has smtp address) over 200 external email addresses to 2010 outlook client - specifically group contact. I did not see an import button on outlook client. It would be very convenient if users can manipulate

Please follow :-
Step 1
Open the text file in a text editor, such as Notepad. Each address should reside on a separate line or be separated by a semicolon. You can include multiple fields, such as names and addresses, by separating the fields by a space or tab.
Step 2
Press "Ctrl-A" to select all contacts on the list and then "Ctrl-C" to copy them.
Step 3
Click "New Items" from the main Outlook window, "More Items" and then "Contact Group."
Step 4
Click "Add Members" and then "From Address Book."
Step 5
Click the "Members" field, press "Ctrl-V" to paste the list of emails and click "OK."
Step 6
Click the "Name" field and type a name for the group.
Step 7
Click "Save & Close" to save your changes.
Step 8
Click "New Email" and type the name of the group in the "To" field. You can then compose and send email as usual.

Urgent! AD connector doesn't import Group email addresses!

The AD connector does not synchronize the email addresses of Distribution groups. This is a huge error, because there are 80 groups and I cant set the email addresses one-by-one.
Strange, but users get imported with correct email addresses, only Groups don't have the email address imported.
Please help!

OK Its solved. I created a new second connector, now it imports the email addresses. What can I say, this is not what I would expect from this product...

Contacts won't keep imported addresses from Outlook

When I import my contact addresses from Outlook into PE8 Contacts, they are all there for just that instance, then they all will disappear the next time I go to the contact page. I can't find any option to fix that. I have signed in and looked in my Adobe account and don't find anything there either. What do you need to do/set/click on to permanently keep the addresses imported? If I manually enter one, it stays.

Let's go step-by-step to see what the issue might be:
1. In Outlook, select one contact.
2. Right-click the contact and select Send Full Contact > In Internet Format (vCard). This creates a draft email message with the selected contact as a vCard attachment.
After step 2, do you see the attachment in the draft message? In Outlook 2007, it looks like:

Why is one of my other email addresses trumping my default email address when I reply to emails?

I have several (4 different) email addresses imported into my imac mail program. I have gone through the settings and configured the program to best of my ability. I have set one email address as my default account. For some reason when I compose a new email message...the mail program will use one of my other email addresses (non-default email address) instead. Do I have something set up incorrectly?

open up your mail preferences and in the composing section there is place to choose the default email address for composing new messages.
if you have several email accts though whatever acct you're in replying to the message will always default as the reply from address since that is the address it was originally sent to.

Definition of LDIF for import to AddressBook

I'm trying to find a comprehensive definition of the file format that AddressBook expects when importing from LDIF files. I can find lots of half-definitions and with those and a bit of trial and error I can get stuff like Name, Address, some phone numbers, an email address, imported okay. What I can get to is, for example, having multiple email addresses, multiple addresses, birthday, anniversary date etc. etc.
If you're curious why I'm not just converting directly using (say) O2M from little machines, its because I have for many years maintained my large contacts list in an external database which (a) allows me to have proper relationships between people, addresses, companies etc. and (b) allows me to export that data to the various PIMs, Address Books, PDAs, Mobile Phones as and when these change. I'd appreciate any help.

Is there a way to import hotmails contacts into entourage? I have saved them as a "comma delimited" (cvs) file, but I can't get any further than that.

Actually, the problem occured in field mapping at the end of your suggested steps. However, your question prompted me to try further and I discovered how to remap the fields by dragging imported fields from the right to their correct location on the left (Entourage address book). That worked and the addresses imported just fine. Thanks

There is no option to import e-mail from Windows Live Mail, *.eml files.

I have all the *.eml files exported to a folder and just need to install.
What software addresses importing Windows Live Mail, *.eml files

You can drag the eml files from their folder and drop them in a TB folder; for this purpose, create a subfolder of Local Folders as the destination.
The eml files can also be imported using [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/ ImportExportTools].
