HR adhoc infoset builder - field already exists

Because of errors with a field in an HR infoset to be used by adhoc reporter (SQ01) created with transaction SQ02 (system is erp 2004) I deleted the field completely from the infoset. I am now attempting to set the field up again from scratch, but getting the error message that 'additional field with this name already exists' when I try to assign the technical field name. Field has been deleted. Is there a trick to fully deleting the field or to create the field over again? I have queries in the standard area using this field and need to re-create it with the exact same name.

I typically create a TEST folder on the remote site. Upload new pages and dependant files there for debugging and testing purposes. Then using a 3rd party ftp ware (filezilla, cute ftp or Ws_ftp pro), I move the new site files & folders over to the root directory. If you have used the same filenames as were on the old site, new pages will overwrite the old ones. If you used a different naming convention, you will need to delete old files from server.

Adding new custom field in already existing custom tab for MM01

Hello Guru,
I have a requirement that add a custom field in already existing custom view of MM01. I did the following steps :
1. I have cerated a new field in MARA using APPEND structure.
2. I have found the function group(Y_FE_MARA) that already there other subscreens, so that I have added another subscreen in that function group and created a field from MARA in the screen.
3. in SPRO went for the path Logistics General->Material Master->Configuring the Material->Define Structure of Data screens for Each Screen sequence
In the 3rd step, I have choosen already existing screen sequence(Y1) and went for Data Screens and choosen for Custom tab and double click on subscreens and then I have added the program as SAPLY_FE_MARA and subscreen number(011) and saved it.
After all the above steps, I have run MM02/MM03 then the field is not getting displayed in the screen of custom view.
Did I miss any steps here? Please suggest me if I did something wrong.

Thank you for the reply. As per the note some one already implemented the Screen Enhancement with 2 custom views. I need to add the field in any one of existing custom view. So for this I have created a Subscreen in copied function group of MGD1(Y_FE_MARA). But in the function group already 10 Subscreens were created. Is this is the problem? or else copy the FG MGD1 into another FG and create the subscreen will be feasible to my scenario?

"file already exists in the destination" during application build

I am trying to build an executable and have gotten the following error:
The file already exists in the destination.
C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.2\vi.lib\Sentech LV 82\Shared Library - Trigger SDK\StTrgApi.dll
WHen I start the build I go to "Build Executable" then click "Build"
The VI for the project I have open is the Startup VI and I do not list any Dynamic VIs or Support FIles.
I am using Labview 8.2
I installed a user library for a USB camera from Sentech wich I am using and it works fine in Labview 8.2
When I try to do the build I get the error shown above. The file it is referencing is there along with the .lvlib file.
I tried removing the file shown in the error message to see what would happen and I continue to get the same error even though the file is not there. I even restarted LV and still got the same error.
I am new to the application builder (v7 ?) and have not been able to find any good tutorials. Does anyone have any ideas on this error or a good place to learn more about app builder.

Adding a field in already existing query layout

Hi All,
I have a requirement where I have to add couple of fields in an already existing query layout.
Through SQ01 and layout painter I have added the fields to the layout. When I test from query painter it displays the newly added fields. But when I execute the transaction that is designated to run the query its not displaying those fields.
What am I missing here?

As you have done some changes to the query,the internal report generator will generate a new program correspponding to the Query which should be attached to the T-code.
Currently the t-code might be having the earlier program name ie the program generated by the query before changes were made hence it is not displaying.
Just check the program name of the Query and the program name attached to the tcode.

I not understood properly ur requirement.
You want to add a custom POWL query in an existing POWL application?
Go to POWL_COCKPIT, Select your POWL_APPLICATION.
Create POWL query.
And While Registering the Query just mention the category in whcih you want it to display.

Project Server 2010 and Report Builder 3 : the same name already exists

Hi,
I created my first report in Report Builder, and,
although it's not perfect, I tried to save it. But I get the error :
Impossible to save the report "No title.rdl". A file from another type with the same name already exists".
I tried to change the name 5 times but I always got the same error.
Any idea ?

I have taken a sample test in my environment, it works well. If there is already another type file named “No title” on report server, then it can be saved on report server. If there is already a report named “No title” on report server, then it would prompt
that “An item named ‘http://servername/reportserver/foldername/No title’ already existed. Do you want to replace the existing item?” when we want to save the report in the same folder.
What’s the location that you want to save the report? Is it a report server or others? Could you please provide us more information about the issue? You can try to reopen the Report Builder, then create another simple report to text the issue again.

Dear All,
In EHP5 'Personal profile' Service, I was trying to modify the detailed screen of Address Information for Great Britain through FPM configurator. On the default detailed screen for this country, there was one group called 'Communication' . I wanted to hide that group. I thought I can achieve this by modifying attribute of this group. There were two attributes 'sequence Index' and 'Column' which decides position of specific group on detailed screen. I made value against these attributes as 0. But after doing these changes I am not able to see the preview of this detailed screen. It is throwing following runtime error:
View Element with ID CFGGROUP_36_CAPTION in View V_PREVIEW Already Exists.
How to revert the changes made in the attribute of this group.

In EhP5 ESS Personal Profile application, in order to change the
Address overview page fields, you need to adapt the Address component
configuration HRESS_CC_PER_OVR_ADDRESS_XX.
Note: In EhP5, ESS screens are based on Floor Plan Manager for

How to find out, if a dynamic genereated structure already exists in DDIC?

Good morning developers,
can you help me with that above mentioned problem?
I'm about to write a report which manages to change tablecontrol(s) to alvgrids.
My current problem is, that i read all fields of a tablecontrol and generate its <b>structure</b> dynamically ( temporary just during runtime of the report, not stored yet ).
Now I have to know, if this generated structure already exists in the DDIC, or not.
If not, i have to create a type of my generated structure and store it in the DDiC.
I know that there s a FM called <b>"COMPARE_STRUCTURE_DATA"</b>.
But i think i have to know the name of the existing structure in DDiC.
Is there also a way for a recursive search in ddic?
If not: when i read the fields of my tablecontrol from the DDiC, i read from ddic-table D021S. In its field "FNAM" it contains for example SFLIGHT-carrid ( <table><column> ).
I could split 'FNAM' into table and column. How do i search for the structuretype of a table?

However, if a dynpro field is based on a type defined within the program the situation may be more complex if the type includes DDIC structures (as shown above). But I am sure you will master this obstacle.

Excise invoice already exists error in J1IS

Hello
Created the Subcontracting PO , and Issue the material to vendor ( mov type 541) with payment of duty, after this created the Excise invoice with T.code J1IS, system was generated the Excise entries in table J_1IEXCDTL and J_1IEXCHDR.
After that we have reversed the excise entries, so now we got "R"Indicator in status field in above said table J_1IEXCDTL.
Now system should allow me to create one more excise invoice with same Material document number but sytem was giving error message that "excise invoice already exists"
Why system was allowing us to create new excise invoice?

you can't create another Excise document with same Material Doc.Because for this Material document already Excise document exit even though it is reversed.i think you have to delete Material document from J_1IEXCDTL and J_1IEXCHDR. then try to create new

We have already extracted data from ECC to VBAK Table . We have to add a new field - Incoterms in HANA . This field exists in ECC .

I dont think you can add new fields to the condition table once you have activated the condition table.
SAP says you can only make limited changes to the condition table, like changing the description, fast entry screen, header and footer fields, but not able to add new fields to the table, and I think that is the correct approch or else for the same table you will have two sets of condition records.

What you can do is create a new condition table with additional field and assign this table before the currently used table in the access sequence.

How to deal with "Error 1001. The specified service already exists" when install a service using installer package?

I wrote a "Class Library" project which is a service using Visual Stodio 2008 recently, then tried to use a Visual Studio 2008
Setup Project to install it.
Here is what I did for the "Class Library":
1. Finish the program.cs, Service.cs
2. Add Installer
3. Change the serviceInstaller so that "StartType" to be Aotumatic
4. Change the ServiceProcessInstaller2 so that "Account" to be LocalSystem
5.
6. Click in F5 (Start Debugging)
Here is what I did for the Setup Project:
1. Add the exe file built from the "Class Library" project to the Application Folder
2. On the Custom Action Editor, add the exe file from 1 to Install and Commit
3. Change the property of the project so that "RemovePreviousVersion" to be true
4. Click on F6(Build Solution)
Then I tried to run the msi file from the built of the Setup Project. Because I modified the two projects serveral times, I uninstalled the Class Library using "Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs" before I reinstall. Two things I notived:
1. After unstall, the registry was not cleaned up about the installed program
2. After several rounds install/uninstall, I got "Error 1001. The specified service already exists"
My questions are:
1. How to cleanup the registry when uninstall a program?
2. How to deal with the "Error 1001. The specified service already exists"?
3. Did I do anytbing wrong with the "Class Library" or the "Setup Project"?

Hi Simon, not a problem!
I spent some more time on this and here are few more notes:
it is called Major Upgrade, when you are installing new version of the product upon a previous one and
MSI supports 2 strategies:
Strategy 1. Install a new version and uninstall previous one. (Install a new version right upon previously installed version (file merging is performed based on dll version number) and the delete previously
installed files)
Strategy 2. Uninstall previous version and install a new one (Delete all previous files and install from scratch new files.)
From the first look it seems that 1st strategy is weird and buggy. But, remember, MSI is great because it's transactional!!! That means that if once some of the phases (Installation, Uninstallation, Rollback, Comit) fails, your machine
will be reverted to the previous state and it'll be still functional.
Let's consider both strategies:
Consider you have installed product_v1.msi and you want to install product_v2.msi.
Strategy 1
1. MSI engine copies files from Product_v1 directory to TEMP directory
2. MSI engine merges files based on the assembly version (between v1 and v2)
3. Once merging is completed successfully it removes files in TEMP (RemoveExistingProducts action triggers it) and you got product_v2 installed, otherwise if it fails MSI engine revert machine to V1 and copies previous files from TEMP.
Strategy 2
1. MSI engine tottaly removes all files from v1.
2. MSI engine installs v2 files and if something goes wrong you cannot revert back, because RemoveExistingProducts allready worked out and MSI doesn't have files to revert machine back
I recommend to everybody to use Strategy 1 and leverage MSI transaction functionality. And you can set this strategies by defining sequence of RemoveExistingProducts action. See more info
here. So, I think it's not even a bug in VS as I said in the upper post it is default recommened behaviour.
AND, you got "Error 1001. The specified service already exists"
because if we follow Strategy 1 MSI engine tries to install Windows Service on top of the existing service and OF COURSE it fails MSI engine (StopServices, DeleteServices actions are executed before actual
installation and they look at ServiceControl table). In order to stop service first and delete them you have to fill ServiceContol table of the MSI (and then StopServices, DeleteServices actions will recognize what to they have to stop
and delete), like this:

We can uninstall service first by following Strategy 2, but then we lose transactional support.
So, Simon did I encourage you to change your code a bit?:)
And, btw, if you don't want to change the strategy, please don't rely on SequenceID in MSI table, it can be change, you have to get the at the runtime.

    I am having a problem adding a new item to an already existing parent BOM.I excute the following code (as per the SDK).

If there is no parent BOM production tree with keycode Item1, then when the above code is run for the first time, it works.The issue occurs when I run change my excel, Cell1 to a different value and run the program again. The error states that the code already exists, which is correct, but does not append the item to the existing BOM.
I have tried vProdTree.Update, but this line overwrites the original child item in the BOM, rather than appending a new item, which is what I want it to do.
Any help is appreciated.

Your issue here is how the "Items" (which is actually pointing to ProductTree_Lines object) works. It is a List of items, and when you get the object is always pointing at the first item in the list.
So for example, to add a BOM with two items you would need to set the details of the first Item and then add a line using vProdTree.Items.Add() before setting the values for that item.
e.g.:

To do what you want to do, which is get the BOM and add a new item to it, you will need to do this:

Method one allows you to add multiple lines as you add the object (which makes more sense), method 2 allows you to get the object after it has been added and add multiple lines to it. This is similar to how the Document_Lines object works.

Legacy data transfer for new depreciation area for already existing assets

I am doing legacy data transfer for New deprecaition area for already existing assets through AS92.
I like to give Ordinay depreciation posted amount for the current FY for these assets in AS92, but i find this field is not editable inAS92.
Please guide me to upload the Posted deprecaiton amount (for current FY) for these assets. I have assets both which are acquired in Last FY year and also this FY year.

I have to migrate Posted dpereciation for new depreciation for nearly 3000 assets, In transaction 147, where i need give Acquituion value aslo, please note these are not new assets, these are prior year assets wiht opeing balances. If we use 147 system will take it is current acquition.
Please note my transter date is 28.02.2010, I have already run AFAB for this company cdoe Feb 2010 for other depreciation areas.
Now i am trying to update Opening APC Cost and Opening Accumulated deprecation for these assets and also posted depreciation for this FY.
Where in AS92, i am able to update Opeing APC Cost and Opeing Acc Dep succsfully for new dep area for already existingassets, bu Posted deprecation field is not editable.
Please guide me how to update posted deprecation for new deprecaition area in AS92 or some other way for already existing assets.
