Every time I switch on the iPhone, the iTunes icon is displayed together with a USB icon and Emergency call message appears on the screen in many languages. When I touch the i symbol I get the following information IMEI: **** AND ICCID: ****
However, the iphone is visible in the Devices directory in iTunes. I changed my SIM card but still can not be recognized by the iPhone.

Do you mean when you say its locked to another carrier other then the one im using, that maybe my insurance sent me an iphone thats for a different network for example orange and not mine which is o2?

I saved docs from a iMac to a flashdrive but when I plug the flashdrive into an iBookG4 and try to open the docs on the flashdrive, I get this message: Doc 2 cannot be opened. The required index.xml file is missing.

It appears if you write the document with newer version Pages and try to open it older version Pages.

there are two messages showing one on my itunes and one on the phone its self.
the one on ituens says "there is no sim card installed in the iphone you are attempting to activate"

- Try another cable
- Try on another computer

Isn't iTunes 10.5 r 9 a beta release for developers? If that's the case then isn't there a special web site for developers to discuss issues (and they are not supposed to discuss them on the public forum)? I understand you are trying to connect your iPhone to your computer so you can sync media to the iPhone, but when you connect your iPhone to your computer iTunes does not recognize the device. The steps to get this resolved will be different depending on if your computer is running Mac OS X or Windows. I’ll include both articles below.

At this point I would recommeng resetting the device if if will not turn on.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
In brief; backup the device, recover what you can from it, download other purchases from the iTunes Store, restore the device, add content, keep a backup of your library in future.
