I plugged my ipod touch into my laptop and started to down load an (1) upgrade. But Itunes says that the upgrade will take two hours. I started the down load and it started and stoped and eventualy never complerted the down load. How can I fix this ?
I plugged my Ipod touch into my Dell laptop and went to Itunes. Itunes told me I should down load an upgrade, so I did. Itunes said the down load would take two hours. I started the down load, but after two + hours (&longer) , after several starts and stops the down load never completed.
I recently got a (fake anti virus) virus and it damaged my computer. I got it fixed and reinstalled the software and it appears to be working correctly. Could this be the part of the problem ?
Would it help if I reloaded the Itunes (off an external HD) or downloaded it again from Itunes ?

I doubt it. For my updates, it has typically taken me many tries/retries. Like for you, the download would stop. and I would have to restart from the beginning. If you get a network timed out error try disabling the security software on your computer.

Just confirming, when you have the trouble, the wifi icon is grayed-out or has all bars showing? I believe you are saying that is is grayed-out - not connected to your wireless router.
I have a Mini that started to lose connection to the Internet after the 10.7.3 update but still showed the wireless as connected. If I pinged the wireless router, I would get a quarter of the packets failing to return. The router was a Netgear that supported 802.11N connections. As a test, I set it to 802.11G (54MBps) maximum and the Mini worked fine for a week - no dropouts. And for the other devices that did support 802.11N, while there was a noticeable delay with downloads and pages loading, they still worked.
As another test, I changed the Netgear router to a Billion 802.11N model and the Mini has not had a problems since. (It is still using 802.11g). So it could be your router that is causing trouble for your Mac.

It's been working fine up til now, but the other day it began coming up as a warning. It also won't let me play music for very long before connectingand disconnecting my ipod multiple times....It's never had this issue before, so I have no idea what's going on.
I assume it has something to do with the update that I need to run on my ipod touch, but it says that it will erase everything on my ipod when I do it....and I don't have everything in my itunes library because I've had to start over fresh a few times...So I'm really scared of doing this update, but I feel like my ipod needs it...Try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- Restor from backup
- Restoe to factory defaults/new iPod.

Just recently I've noticed my apps wasn't working, they would just blink and then exit out. So I searched on here to find out what I should do, and I seen that someone said to restore the iPod. I did just so, but before I did I made sure I backed it up so I still had my files. But when I plugged it in there was no option of restoring from backup. I didn't know why, but I just added all of my old songs from before. However, when I unplug it (after my songs have been added) and plug it back in.. My songs aren't there anymore! This is very frustrating because it's done this to me 3 times and I'm not sure what to do.
The same thing happened to me when I updated to the new software when iPhone 4S came out.

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Setesh, See if both computer has the same version of iTunes, if both are the same, then it is your PC, that has plug-ins which is in conflict it iTunes. ( normally it is the Antivirus or some plug-ins to beautify your screen)
If it is different, most likely the other PC has an older version of iTunes, so you should downgrade your iTunes to that older version, which your iPod interface well with.
Other probable causes,
you are using the USB 1.1 port at the front of your PC, and not the USB2,0 port at the back of your PC. so switch to the back.
Dont use any other USB devices, when you are syncing the iPod.
Dont use any USH Hub.

I was thinking that you may need to reset the iPod Nano, outlined here How to reset iPod http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and Volume Down button simultaneously for at least eight seconds or until the Apple logo appears. You may need to repeat this step.
If the above step did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. Try resetting the iPod while it is connected to power.
If that doesn't quite get the iPod going again, then it will need to be restored. Use this article to help with that Restoring iPod to factory settings http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1339.

When I plug my IPOD touch into my Dell computer it comes up with Judy's IPOD, the click on where it says internal storeage then a folder comes up that says DCIM then click on that and another folder comes up 800AAAAA and when you click on that all you see if pictures.
