My story is.... I purchased a phone from an online source. I created an Apple ID and Password. Then I attempted to set up with my new carrier. Well, the phone was s dud. Even had Apple Genius Bar take a look at it. I will be returning the phone. So I will also be purchasing another phone. Can I transfer the Apple ID and Password from phone to phone. I have cleared out the dud. But now, I am worried that the Apple ID will go with the phone when I return it.

Again, the iPhone warranty is NOT international. And, if I may offer unsolicited advice, buying from ebay is always risky. Most sellers are less then honest when it comes to iPhones. They might state that the iPhone is unlocked when it is not; it might not be really unlocked or might be hacked/jailbroken.
My advice to you is to buy in the country you intend to use the phone and buy it from a legitimate source such as Apple or an authorized reseller.

Not able to print from an "online" source

I have set-up my HP Officejet 6500 a network printer on my home network and shared it. When I try to print from an "online" source (webpages, AOL mail) the printer does not print. However, when I print from a program on the computer (adobe, word) or do a test page, it prints just fine.
Is there a setting for explorer 9 that limits printing to a network printer?

Have an HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One. Can not get it to print from online sources. Test print works fine.Have disabled fire wall and no improvement.

I am going through the same process! It is a nightmare doing anything with adobe. They make it as difficult as possible to get a refund and keep asking me if i want anothe program instead of a refund. They are making me jump through all kinds of hoops to get the refund and refuse to call me. They have ZERO customer service and the only reason they stay in business is because they have no real competitors. It's a shame, but I suggest you reprot them to the Better Business Bureau. I did.

I need to download an application from a trusted source, but not an apple source. Application is apparently downloads, but the computer will not open it. I have turned off my fire wall. I should press control and then the app which should be in the applications folder. It does not appear to be in that folder.

If you are talking about items that you have purchased from the iTunes Store or App Store being deducted from your credit balance in your iTunes account, then providing there is enough to meet the whole of the cost of these items, then it should always be deducted from your credit balance before your credit card.

I suspect you're referring to the 3 free iCloud account limit on an iOS device. If so, there's no way around this. Once that limit is reached, you'll have to create the iCloud account on another iOS device or computer, then setup that account on your phone.

Was anyone able to purchase 2 phones from Apple for a FamilyTalk plan

On June 17 I placed 2 separate orders for 32GB phones, both lines eligible for upgrade pricing. After waiting patiently since June 17 I received an email from Apple today that there is a "problem" with the 2nd order and to check with AT&T to resolve it. I spent 1 1/2 hrs on the phone with them while they were trying to find the problem, they couldn't find one and said the 1st phone has already gone through and the 2nd phone is eligible and the account is OK etc. I then called Apple and the guy I talked to there now says that because this was a family plan that I am only able to purchase 1 phone online and that the other one has to be bought in a store or from AT&T. I thought that as long as it was 2 separate orders it was OK, was I wrong and now I have to try & find one in a store now?
I am so frustrated.....

Kathy, I had a similar problem when I went to order two phones from Apple on June 16, I also have a FamilyTalk plan. I had an Apple CSR on the phone when I made the orders. I suspected that both orders had gone threw for the same phone # but the CSR assured me that everything was okay. So I ordered the phones on June 16, they both went to Prepared to Ship on July 3. Then on July 4 one of the orders went back to its previous status, then the email from Apple came on July 5 saying that there was a problem with an order and I should contact AT&T and of course it does not say which order. So I contacted AT&T and it turns out that two orders went in for my wife's phone # even though the CSR said the order was fine and she checked both orders for me. The AT&T rep I talked to on July 5 said he talked to Apple and that I would have to cancel the order in question and re-order the phone for my #. So I ended up putting in a new order with AT&T because of the 7-10 ship rather than the 3 weeks from the Apple site. So the first phone is still Prepared to Ship and the second phone sits in backordered status with AT&T. I wish they would have informed me of the problem right away rather than three weeks after I put in the initial order. So I feel your pain, you are not alone.

Only if the iBook is NOT DRM protected, whch means no for the majority of titles in iTunes. You can Copt from your own PDFs or from something like the iOS User Guide, some free titles, but not from most things.
You will find that to be the case with most other book apps as well.

Its called Activation Lock. Take the phone to Sprint and explain your problem. It is their fault and responsibility to properly reset used phones.

Find a missing FaceTime app
If you can't use FaceTime or find the FaceTime app, follow these steps. FaceTime might not be available, or might become unavailable, on devices purchased or used in certain countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Check your device's region of purchase for more information.
In Settings > General > Restrictions, make sure FaceTime and Camera are on. Disabling Camera also disables FaceTime.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Restore your device:
Back up your device to iCloud or iTunes.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. This will erase all user data from your device.
When complete, set up your device by selecting your region and language, then restore your data using the iCloud or iTunes backup. When you set up and restore a backup from iTunes, make sure that your computer's language, country, date, and time are set correctly.
If you still can't find the FaceTime app, see if you can go to Settings > FaceTime. If Settings > FaceTime is present, try using the Spotlight Search to find the FaceTime app.

Order prints from other online sources

I usually order prints online with Costco.com and then pick them up at a nearby store in an hour. If I organize my pictures in Photoshop Elements 4.0, is there a way to upload the ones I want so I can order them at Costco (instead of the preloaded Kodak website)? If not, then what is the easiest way to organize so that my pictures in my Windows XP "My pictures" folder contains the same information to sort & choose which pictures to print? (like tags, etc.) I like the tags and organization tools which will help me figure out which pictures I want to print. (FYI when you order online at Costco, you have to upload the pictures you want printed) Many thanks for any suggestions.

I use a method similar to Trish. I have a tag called "get prints" and one called "already printed." I just put the "get prints" on the appropriate pictures in the Organizer.
When I am ready to upload, I just select the tag, then select all the photos that pop up in the Organizer with that tag. I right click on the photos and select copy. Then I go to a folder on my desktop and paste there. This makes a copy of those pictures in the new folder, as Trish said above.
I then go back to the organizer and place the "already printed" tag on those pictures I just copied. THEN I remove the "get prints" tag (putting "already printed" on them first is important"). After I upload to the print site online, I can empty out the folder on my desktop to save space.
This way I keep track of those I already printed so I don't pay for 5 prints I didn't want just because I keep running across the picture.

No.
The fact that Apple now sells unlocked phones independently of AT&T does not change AT&T's 'no unlock' policy.
The phone you bought is locked to AT&T. So far, AT&T have not announced any change to their unlocking policy and Apple cannot unlock an AT&T iPhone without receiving authorization from AT&T.

Go ahead and log in with your Apple ID. Your dad's apps won't disappear, but they will always be tied to his Apple ID. If his apps ever get updated or have in-app purchases or whatever you'll need his ID. But in the meantime you can continue playing "Where's My Water".
