I purchased an app and I got message that I have purchased but I had to sign in to Itunes on my computer in order to download it...what's up with that?

larger applications (usually over like 500 megs) will require Itunes and/or wifi connection to download. I get that quite a bit when I try to update like navigon, NOVA 2 and the larger games.
you really havent given much other information.... but the following could be the cause..
1. Your itunes billing/etc may need to be updated
2. The application was too big to download over 3G
3. A change of ELUA required your acceptance

Your remarks seem to be contradictory to me, you said that you installed the app.

If installing the app worked, why are you being reported for your Apple ID and password now?
Do you have multiple Apple ID's? Are you signed into the correct Apple ID in Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Apple ID. -
I am not sure what I changed, but now when my Macbook Pro is turned on my iPad 2 will not let me download apps. It prompts me to login to itunes on my computer in order to download the apps. Any ideas?
You should not have to log into the iTunes store on your computer. I don't have to do that and I just tried on both my computer and my iPad to be sure. Try any or all of these things to see if it helps at all. The only exception I can think of would be if you were trying to download apps larger than 20MG via 3G on the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit iTunes on the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit iTunes by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on the iTunes app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. -
Hi, I have Mac with Snow Leopard and was trying to purchase Lion , so I can move to I cloud, when trying to buy the app I get a message that a minimum 2gb of memory is required. I went check the hard disck info and it says available memory 20gb :-(
Apple Logo, left hand side of the menu bar, About this Mac. It should be right there. If not then More Info, Sys Info.
But it would seem you don't have 2GBs installed and more then likely both RAM slots are already filed. So you just need to buy more RAM in a pair. That could be 2 1GBs chips or if your Mac can have more then that then 2 2 GB chips or 2 4GB chips.
Get your model # and go to Crucial.com and use their memory search to find out how much your Mac can have installed and the price for it. I suggest you install as much as it can take. Cost is very low on RAM these days. -
I was updating my iphone 4 on computer on itunes. After 45 mins or so, I got message that software was updated. But my iphone needed to be restored as it is in recovery mode. it staes that all data will be deleted!! Will I be able to recover data, apps, photos, etc? My phone will not even allow me to use it....it just has picture of itunes with connector on screen. HELP!
If your phone is in recovery mode, you've already lost ALL of the data on the phone. Your only choice now is to restore it from your most recent backup. You follow this by syncing your content back to your phone. Any data, on your phone, not backed up or in supported applications on your computer, is gone. iTunes content you can re-download for free.

After a trip to Brazil, the App Store apparently thinks my iPad 2 is still there. When I try to download an app, I get a message that I can't get that app from the Brazilian store and have to switch to the U.S. store. The general settings are correct. I apparently need to switch locations manually, specifically for the App Store. Help?
Open the App Store app, go to the Featured pane, swipe to the bottom, tap your Apple ID and sign out. Tap again and sign back in. The App Store will automatically change to the store from which your account is authorized to make purchases.

Tried to install OS X Yosemite on my MacBook. Got message that it could not be installed on my computer due to error while extracting files from package "Essentials.pkg". When i quit the installer as recommended it goes in a loop and gets stuck.

Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like the installer file isn't working. Have you tried deleting the installer and redownloading the installer? I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.

Not very user friendly! Where is the place to report a problem!? I have been billed for an in-app purchase but not had the goods - I received an error message telling my I hadn't been charged at the time and now it is on my bill! What can I do?

About 1 year ago, I can not access the App Store. The message that appears is: "One Moment Please. Connecting to the iTunes Store. Loading ... " I've tried all the aids presented in this and other forums and nothing solves. iTunes connects normaly...
Your profile indicates your Mac is running v10.7.2
If that is correct, updating your system software may help.
Click Software Update from the Apple menu.
Restart your Mac after updates are installed then try the App Store.
If you can't update that way, there's a workaround.
Install the OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo)
Then restart your Mac and try the App Store.

Hi everyone
I'm a new iPad user (ipad2) and have tried to download a few apps. I already have a iTunes/app store account but often when I try download a app I get a message that says "your request could not be processed"?It could be a problem at the other end, try again tomorrow. Also , try resetting your iPad by holding down the home and sleep/wake button till the Apple logo appears and then let it wake up, maybe that may help.

Why can't I see the purchase history from the ipad? I mean, I can buy apps and in game content directly from my iPad, but I have have to install iTunes on my PC to see the purchase history? What kind of deal is that?

You don't need to install iTunes for the purchase history. You can see it in your iPad (iTunes > Purchased), but you need to install it if you want the order numbers -
I recently rented a movie in itunes (John Carter) and tried to move it to ipod but got message that it's not compatible. Why did this happen as I haven't had problem before and can I get my money back?
Are you sure you don't have a 5G iPod video? If so, rented movies are not compatible with that particular generation/model of iPod.
Otherwise, it sounds like the rental is in HD. It should have came with a Standard Definition version instead.

I downloaded the new version of pages about a month ago. Today I tried to open documents that I created and saved with the new version and received a message that I needed to download the new version. The app store shows the download. HUH?!?
I'm not sure what you mean by it making accessing files more complicated. I have both Pages 4.3 & Pages 5.1 icons in my Dock as well as Numbers 2.3 & Numbers 3.1. I continue to use the iWork '09 versions for my everyday needs. As long as the new versions are in your Applications folder & the '09 versions in the iWork '09 folder, Software Update will not have a problem updating them even if Apple should come out with a new update for the '09 versions.
Because I have moved the new versions to an external drive & renamed the apps because I want '09 to be the default apps, I do have to remember to move them back to my applications folder & restore the original names before updating. But since you like the new versions this "complication" doesn't apply to you. -
