It sounds like you are unable to send emails, as they go straight to the outbox, but you can get the emails without issue. I recommend using the Connection Doctor to help you troubleshoot what is happening with the following article:

Is there a way I can fix this problem without going to the store? It seems that my macbook pro was okay untl I upgraded. It doesn't read DVD nor any CD.

I've not heard of any updates that caused optical drives to fail. Best thing you can do is to make an appointment at the Apple Store. They will run diagnostics on your computer free - you only pay if you choose to have it repaired.
If it does turn out to be a bad SuperDrive and the price to replace from Apple seems high, you can always replace the drive yourself. Try OWC for listings of replaceable drives and the toolkit and instructions on how to replace the drive.

I have recently download the new pages, but from time to time my computer will revert back to the previous page software what can I do to fix this problem

does anyone have a problem with the new page software? I am currrently running into the same problem with the old pages software re-appearing and any document that I had used with the new update, will not open. The system requires me to attempt to download a new version of page, when the newiest version has aleady been download and has been in operation.
What can I do to fix this problem? I desire to use the new version at all times.

You just have to be particular with which Pages version you are opening the document. use Right click on the document and choose the right version of Pages.

Installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo will reinstall the App Store for you.
Restart your Mac after the combo is installed.
it's ok to do this even though you are alraady running v10..6.8.

You might want to browse or search through that one and then create a new post there if you can't find an answer; I've heard of posts detailing problems with iLife applications if you either buy a used Mac or wipe/reinstall your OS. You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists. If it doesn't work, there isn;t much anyone here can do for you. It may be a physical problem with your speakers.

The default settings mostly likely use an audio sample rate of 32k. This doesn't work probably in FCP. You're probably better off capturing the tape in iMovie.

These "Share" files are accessed and used by the Create Disc app.
Create Disc is buried in the FCP X package.
Applications>FCP X>Show Package Contents>Contents>Plugins>Compressor>Compressor Kit.bundle>Show Package Contents>Embedded Apps>Create Disc
I'm wondering if having the Compressor Application on a Mac makes a difference to having just FCP X on a Mac and the use of the Sharing feature.
I have Compressor loaded and find that DVD and Bluray burns from Share without any glitches as some are experiencing.
