I recently bought an Ipod touch 2nd gen, (Ebay). It's in great shape and seemed to be wiped clean.
When I connect (via windows computer) to Itunes with usb cord the Ipod icon shows, but the only function you can do is eject. When its in the upper right hand corner and you click on it all you get is a done button, when it's in the side bar right click and your only option is eject, left click has no effect. If I go to "file">devices it's as if there are no devices connected.
I purchased a song with Itunes on the Ipod itself, and it transferred to my library on the computer automatically .
I have an Iphone 5 and a nano that are still functioning with Itunes thru computer so I'm thinking the issue is with the Ipod touch. I've reset it several times, rebooted it, with no change.

I got my screen fixed and the day i got my ipod touch 4th gen back the wifi doesnt work unless i hold it right up to my router. Roughly every foot I move back it loses a bar and if i leave the room it doesn't even have a signal completely. Could the screen replacement have tampered with the wifi capability? Also if it helps I switched internet providers and during the time when my ipod was being fixed a new router was installed and it doesnt seem to work unless directly infront of my ipod.
Take it back to where you had the screen replaced. They messed up the connection to the wifi antenna

My iPod Touch 2nd Gen won't sync music from my computer.
I connect my iPod to iTunes and it says "The iPod cannot be synced. An unknown error has occured (13019)."
Photos, apps, movies, and such can all be changed and synced, but audio files can't. I can put a song on the iPod and iTunes will that it's been added, display it amoung my other music, but when it doesn't actually appear on the iPod itself.
All my software in update-to-date, I've tried using different cords to connect my iPod to the computer, and I've restarted the iPod several times.
Is there something wrong with the iPod? How can I fix this?Have you tried here:

New IPod Touch 4th Gen isn't being recognized by my computer or itunes.
I got a new IPod Touch yesterday and I am finally getting the time to sit down and set everything up and when I plugged it in it makes the charging sound but itunes is not finding it and neither is my computer. I've been messing with it for hours now and at one point my computer thought the IPod was a camera. I've tried updating itunes to the newest version, uninstaling/reinstaling the drivers, even tried updating the IPod to iOS 6 thinking that might help but still nothing. What am I missing?

ive only had my itouch for a year, and already its dying within one day. i charge it completely, or 3/4, only listen to music and go on facebook on it, and it already says ive only got 20 percent power left. is there any way i could make it last longer?
My year old ipod touch 2nd gen is also dying even when I'm not even using it!
I've always made sure to get it fully charged before unplugging it and i don't use excessive memory apps.
This morning I charged it all morning until it had been on the fully charged sign for at least another hour. I put it on my bed because the next time i needed it would be when i go to sleep.

I just got a ipod touch 2nd gen (8gb) from a friend.
This ipod has some problem.. it is running by itself! When I on it, and for example go to Settings, it will just randomly go to a next selection as if responding to my selection but I never touch anything.. I've tried to reset to factory settings and it's updated to ios4.2.1 but still no use..

How do I transfer my current iTunes Library for a 5th gen. Nano to a used iPod touch 2nd gen.?
I was given a used iPod touch 2nd. gen because my old faithful 5th generation nano was tragically washed. But I'm scared to just plug the new one into my computer to see what happens. I want to make sure I don't lose all of the music I have on my nano. Anyone know how to do this?

If you can't find it by the Spotlight search then it is likely hidden by Restrictions. Settings>General>Restrictions.
Many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync. -
I was downloading updates for Ipod touch 2nd gen and when the process was to the processing files point the screen changed and I wasn't given any idea as to whether the process was complete or not and if it was what was to be done next. I needed to reset the Ipod and now I am wondering what to do . Spend another Hour downloading and whatever amount on processing files and end up where I am now . Whats the next step in finding out what to do? This was the second attempt to do this with the first try happening the same except I am not sure how long the processing files part was.. Any suggestions as to what to try will be greatly appreciated.. Thanks

Ipod Touch 2nd gen. Backlight and App Problem
I bought an iPod touch 2nd gen. from a friend and it worked completely fine. But today, my iPod's backlight just randomly shut off. I can see the apps and everything works perfectly fine, the screen is just very dim. The iPod is jailbroken. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?? PLEASE HELP!
Also, another problem I am having is with apps. Some apps that I have had previously installed on my iPod and then deleted will not reinstall along with new apps I wish to install. I have tried installing them from iTunes on my computer, but that doesn't help either. If anyone has any answers to any of these problems, please help me.

I do not know what operating system the iPod currently running on.Exact same problem. I bought my ipod touch 2nd gen last december.I have always kept it in a plastic case for protection. Then the other day the button wasnt responding very well, I thought it was because the case wasnt fitting correctly. So today the button stopped working completely. My local retail store elcorteingles¿ i live in spain? are useless, theyll tell me to call apple, but because my 90 fredays are up i have to pay probally which is stupid considering my ipod is still under warranty. I also have never dropped my ipod ¿it cost allot of money so obviously ive been looking after it)
So I gues the best option is take it to your local retail store (if their usefull) or in my case ill have to send it away for maintanance.
