I recently lost my Ipod touch. I am wondering if the person who found it connects it to their computer, will my pictures, notes, and Itunes music get deleted (I hope)?

I got my Ipod touch 8 GB, 2 years ago as a gift.
Since then I have used the camera feature to take pictures, and used the Notes feature.
I am wondering what happens to these when the new user (I lost it) wil plug it into their computer?

If you had a screen-lock passcode then they will have to either guess the passcode or have to erase the iPod to use the iPod.
With no passcoe then they read your mail and do other things unless you change your passwords.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
- Apple will do nothing

there is nospecial way to locate your iPod, Apple will not help. Your SN is only good for identifying the iPod as yours if it is found.

Sign in. Under the "Devices" Tab, if you iPhone isn't listed, Find my iPhone was never set up and there is no way to track it. If it appears, but is shown as offline, it means that it was set-up but is currently not trackable (no wifi connection active). Best of luck.

What you needed to have already done was to have went to Settings>iCloud and turned FindMyiPod on.
. The problem is, though, even if this information is true, how will I be able to find it? It's an iPod touch with no GSM/CDMA capabilities. Therefore, it cannot be found unless it was connected to Wi-Fi.
For location the iPod uses the location of nearby wifi routers that are in Apple's database. Thus, wifi has to be on.
But how would that be possible unless the person who found it knows my passcode?
Wifi just has to be on and connected to report its postition to you by going to icloud.com as explained in a previous reply.
I'm guessing that if the person wipes and restores the device, I will have no way of finding it... unless it works off the serial number?
If the iPod is restored, you can no longer find it via icloud.com. I uses turning FIndMyiPod on, not the SN,.

On a somewhat different topic. When I named my iPod, I called it, "if found please call (xxx)xxx-xxxx. That way, you do increase the odds of finding should it fall into the hands of an honest person, and if not, the person who found it will always know that he/she could have gotten it back to it's owner every time they use it.

For whatever reason the device box only shows the IPAD. I have my other IPOD hear but the system doesn't try to locate it. Could this mean I don't have the CLOUD on my IPODS like I thought?
