I recently purchased a MacBook Pro 17 inch and it has froze up on me twice now.. any ideas?
I just purchased this MacBook Pro from the store and also this is my first MacBook. Had it for 2 months and I am a newbie of Mac products. Had some issues with freezing and I had to use the "Force Quit" a few times now. Don't know what the issue is. Also, just today I could not get it out of hibernation or sleep to come back on..
Any ideas?
Or have it replaced. Unless you've added a bunch of strange stuff, this shouldn't happen to a brand new one. Let your local Apple Store get you going with a MBP that works perfectly.

My MacBook Pro started beeping and freezing up, replaced ram, still doing it. Any ideas?
We had everything checked at Apple store, everything was fine but was told that 3 beeps meant ram was bad. We replaced the ram and used it for about 5 minutes and it started doing it again. Any ideas on what else this could be?
Please make a Genius Appointment and take it in for service.

Doesn't matter. All HDMI cables should work, some are considered better than others, I had a $5 ebay cable work just as good as a $20 monster HDMI cable.

Thanks, Sig. I think I should've been a little clearer. I've attempted to do the updates on my Mac, but I get a warning that it will erase everything except calenders, email, etc from the iPad. I've syned the iPad with the Mac with no problem, but get scary messages when I try to do the latest update.

Hi, If I purchase the Macbook Pro 13-inch: 2.5 GHz, will this model reach the requirements and specs that I will need for my course (Graphic Design) in regards to using Photoshop/Illustrator? apart from purchasing these programs do I need any add ons to the laptop itself?
If you're able to afford it, I would opt for a 15.4" screen - the larger screen real estate is almost a must for Photoshop and Illustrator (and InDesign, in particular, which I assume you'll be purchasing as well - Adobe has very good educational discounts on the CS6 Design Standard package: it's horrible to try to work with two page spreads on a small monitor - even 15.4" is just barely enough).
You can get the base 15" 2012 model for $1,799 (less your student discount). It only comes with 4GB of RAM and I would upgrade that to at least 8GB, but I would not purchase the RAM upgrade from Apple. I would buy third-party RAM from Crucial or OWC and install it yourself (or have someone that is computer-savvy install it for you).

You can't do that in AirPlay Mirroring. AirPlay Mirroring can only mirror your MacBook's display, so you can't do one thing in your Mac's display and another in the TV.
