I recently upgraded to 5.0 and one of my add-ons was disabled (incompatible), can I (how do I ) switch back to the previous version of Firefox?
My Turbo-Saver (from Upromise.com) Add-on is incompatible with Firefox 5.0 and was disabled when I upgraded. i want to switch back to the previous version of Firefox where it is compatible.

After installing Firefox 4 beta and restarting I no longer had my menu bar (File Edit...) nor my AVG Safe Search Security Toolbars. As a result, I immediately reinstalled the previous version of Firefox which I had installed just a few minutes previously. In the future, I will make sure I have the install/exe for this version so that I can be insured of having a version that functions properly. Until then, and in the future, I WILL NOT be beta testing any versions of Firefox/Thunderbird. I just don't feel comfortable risking it as I am computer illiterate, it's not worth the danger...
In addition I lost my "Home" button, including with the version I now run (3.6?) and had to create a folder for the location on the menu toolbar.

EVERY SITE IS UNTRUSTED, including support.mozilla.com
The problem began as soon as I allowed Firefox to install the latest update.
I want to UNINSTALL the latest update and roll the product back to the previous version that was working.Is the Date / Time set correctly on that PC?

The office I work in uses a very old version of ACT!, an accounting package. This package has a component called SwiftPage, an antiquated email system that enables us to email from the ACT DB. SwiftPage runs via the web browser.
Firefox just did an auto update (that I will have to find out how to turn off) and now SwiftPage won't run as it is not compatible.
Can I "roll-back" my version of Firefox or do I have to uninstall and try to re-install an older version?
HELP!Try loading and using the add-on from this link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/
Many add-ons do in fact work if you force them to run. The procedure to roll-back is given in this article: [[installing previous versions of firefox]]
Unfortunately the official Firefox policy is that you downgrade to 3.6 which is supported for a while longer, and not the now unsupported Firefox 4. If after installing and running the ''add-on compatibility reporter'' you still have problems there are ways around the official policy.
I think it is absurd that Firefox 4 may be used by tens of millions of users one day and a few days later those that upgrade to Firefox 5 should be not only told not to use a now unsupported browser, if they need to revert due to problems, but are actually obstructed in attempts to do so. I want to go back to the previous version of Firefox, because the new version (4.0.1 I think) that I downloaded disabled several of my programs, including my anti-virus program, because they were incompatible with the new version of Firefox. How do I get back to the previous version of Firefox and re-enable the disabled programs?

Some gestures have been removed in Firefox 4.
You can restore the zoom feature by changing the values of the related prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page.
browser.gesture.pinch.in -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReduce</b>
browser.gesture.pinch.in.shift -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReset</b>
browser.gesture.pinch.out -> <b>cmd_fullZoomEnlarge</b>
browser.gesture.pinch.out.shift -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReset</b>
browser.gesture.pinch.latched -> <b>false</b>
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
You can use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a pref more easily. -

firefox 25.0 disabled kaspersky virtual keyboard and safe money ect how do i change back to the previous version as fire fox tells you to late in the update to back track
Hello Bretus,
Thank you for contacting Mozilla Support and I'm sorry this update isn't compatible with the extensions you're using.
The Kaspersky support forums mention that those extensions will be updated soon, so that they are compatible with FF25. In the meantime, we do not recommend that you downgrade your version of Firefox, but you can find instructions and download locations for previous versions here:
[[Install an older version of Firefox|Install an older version of Firefox]]
Please let us know if this solves your issue.

I don't have any details. The Question explains it all. We just upgraded from 1.5 Mbps to 18 Mbps download speed and webpages opened really quick until I downloaded and installed Firefox 4. I have Internet Explorer 9, but I do not use it. I would just like to go back to the most current previous version of Firefox and keep my settings and bookmarks to see if webpages still load as slow as they are loading now. If so, then it's not the browser and I'll have to troubleshoot.
You can download Firefox 3.6 from this page:
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
However, I'm not sure of the best procedure for removing Firefox 4. You might want to search these forums a bit for advice so you don't lose Bookmarks and other settings. -
I'm running 10.4.11 and had Firefox 3.6.something. I installed the Firefox update, assuming that if it was not compatible with my OSX version, it wouldn't install. First mistake, huge. I need to go back to my previous version. I don't have system resources to upgrade the OS version.
The last Firefox version that runs on Mac OS X 10.4 is Firefox 3.6.28.
Current Firefox versions require a Mac with an Intel processor and OS X 10.6 (Firefox 16 runs on Intel Mac OS X 10.5).
Firefox 3.6.28:

I don't like the interface, the browser crashed first session and I'm having Flash issues. How can I uninstall this version and go back to the previous one?
You can uninstall Firefox from your Control Panel (under Add & Remove Programs). When you uninstall, make sure that you DON'T choose the option "Remove my Firefox Personal Data".
You can find the [http://www.squidoo.com/firefox-web-browser#module155179094 Older Versions of Firefox] (Windows and Mac versions) and accordingly download the one you want. However, please note that Firefox recommends using the latest version.
Currently, the only older version that is being maintained by Firefox, in terms of security and safety, is Firefox 3.6.24. -
I am using windows XP, and have a DSL connection that is not very fast. I think the new version of Firefox may be too complex and have too many things going on for my connection.
The last version worked flawlessly. I had no problems until updating to Firefox 4.0.1, but now I can barely use it.Try a new Profile.

I would like to revert back to the previous version of Firefox. Please tell me how to do this
hello and thank you for your suggestion. I have tried it and, when trying to open a program which I previously was able to, still get the following message:
Remote XUL
This page uses an unsupported technology that is no longer available by default in Firefox.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.
Seems unbelievable that I previously had no problem and now I do. Have you any suggestions to overcome this? Do you think I can go back further in Firefox history to get a version that will make it possible to access this. Many thanks! Lynn
