I restored my iPad 2 from the iTunes backup but my music, audio books and iBooks are all missing. It seems only the Apps were restored and settings. Anyone else had this problem?
Oh and the bizarre thing was that when I opened iBooks for the first time after the restore it showed all the books in the open collection and then they vanished in front of my eyes!

Check the console app to see if there are any error messages. I had one app showing an issue (Pet Hotel) the error was (truncated):

I manually snyc'ed that particular app and then re-ran the restore and am now the proud owner of a working iphone. Not sure it is the same problem or app but looking in the console was the key! -

And that's exactly the problem, because everyone should have their own account for iCloud. You can share an Apple ID for iTunes & App Store purchases, but you shouldn't do that for iCloud (Mail, Calendar, Contacts etc. ... ...and Photos). The problem of using the same account together could mean that only your dad's photos were stored.

LisaThanks. I'm restoring it now. All of the conditions that you mentioned were true. There were two pics that I took at the Penguins' playoff game last week that wouldn't have been on the backup. I didn't know if those would be wiped out or not so I copied them to my PC first before I started the restore. Other than that (and a ringtone but I can recreate that), everything that you mentioned was true. It's kind of a joke between my son and me -- it's just a stupid pic of him sleeping on the couch (though he claims he wasn't sleeping). He thinks it's over now that he deleted it from the phone. Joke's oh him...

bleAgain, iTunes only keeps one normal backup, per device. Any other backups listed are backups created from restore points. These are time/date stamped & are not overwritten.

You can't get it reset; if you could there would be no point in having it. If you have an encrypted backup there are two ways this could have happened:
You checked "Encrypt Backup" in iTunes at some time in the past, either intentionally or by accident
You have a corporate MS Exchange account and your Exchange administrator installed a security profile on your phone that requires the phone'a contents to be encrypted. This, in turn, requires the backup to be encrypted for obvious reasons.
In either case you were prompted for a password the first time you backed up after whichever of these happened. So think about what you might have entered for a password at that time. Fortunately you get an unlimited number of tries. Other threads on this subject have shown that it is always a password known to the user, so it wasn't something made up by iTunes. There are also some scam password crackers available that don't actually work and possibly steal your information. It's likely that a developer of one or more of these will post a response with a link (possibly hidden) to their "product". Having a bad day my iTunes library got corrupted and my back up disk has failed how can I restore my purchases from the iTunes store? When I try it tells me the pruchases have already been downloaded to this computer.
Does your purchased rmusic appears under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) ? If they do and you don't have the cloud symbol against them so as to re-download them, then do you still have the entries for them in your library i.e. where you would normally click on them to play them ? If you do then try deleting them from there (iTunes will be seeing them and assuming that you still have them somewhere) and they should then get the cloud symbol for re-downloading in the Purchased link.

I think you will find that you have to have a debit/credit card stored on yur account regardless of whether your have iTunes Credit or want to purchase a free App. I don't know why, I assume its for ID verification or is part of the terms and conditions. I occasionally have to re-verify my credit card info even when just trying to run Update on one of my Apps or like I said downloading a free App.

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem. -

What is the table you want to restore?
Using export/import is supported with Oracle Apps database (for full database exp/imp, and certain schemas like custom ones). For the Apps schema, I believe it is not supported due to object dependencies and integrity constraints.

I recently downloaded music from the iTunes store but it doesn't play on my iPod
I recently downloaded music through the iTunes store and synched it manually to my iPod nano (5th generation) and while it shows up on my iPod when I scroll through my list of artists/songs/albums it will not play any sound if selected and will not play through at all. At the very best all it will do is skip ahead 1 to 2 songs. What do I need to do?
I think it's also worth noting that the songs work on my other devices (laptop and iPad mini) absolutely fine with zero issues.I had some time finally figuring why I could buy and download from the Itunes store, but could not load it on my IPOD. What finally worked was plugging my IPOD in to the computer, as I would when "syncing", and, after loading, it would show my device in the side bar. You have to go to VIEW in the top Tool Bar and click on SHOW SIDE BAR in the drop down menu. "SUMMARY' tab, on top, is what I clicked on to show an option of restoring my IPOD to the factory defaults. It erases everything on the IPOD, but gives an option of AUTOFILL afterwards, which it does from the computer. This is one solution of many you could try. Good luck.
