I set my gmail to forward to iCloud mail will it send mail

I set my gmail to forward to iCloud mail.  Is it possible so that responses to email will automatically respond with my gmail address as the sender or will it default to iCloud?  Thanks

Hello there dinadinadina,
It sounds like you have modified the password settings for your Gmail account after changing the password. Thats where I would have started too. Next I would restart the device and test it one more time, and then remove and add the account again in Settings:
Get help with Mail on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Restart your iOS device.
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap the affected email account.
Tap Delete Account.
Add your account again.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Take care,
Sterling

: Configuration of FP-Modules. In the catalog is something written about sending data on data change. There is a checkbox in the FP-Explorer but I cant find a configuration menu in FP-Explorer to set the threshold value at which the data will be send. The FP-1600 modules automatically send data on-change only. The change threshold is by default 0%. Any change, even a single least significant bit change, is sent back to the computer. If the FP-1600 firmware revision supports deadbanding (firmware revision 3.0.x and later, can be downloaded from ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/fieldpoint/Update/FPEthernet0320.zip ). Then on each analog channel or count channel you can specify a percentage change for deadbanding in FieldPoint Explorer. This is done on a channel by channel basis, by right-clicking on the particular IO module and choosing Edit this Device, then choosing Channel Configuration. Each channel (if it supports deadbanding) will have a deadband entry box on the middle right side of the screen).
    The FP-1000/1001 seri

Hi I have a mac osx lion10.7.3 and i can't get my mail set up with a blueyonder.co.uk address inbox works fine but i can't get outbox to work will not send mail any idea's thank's

And, you are sure you have provided the correct username and password for you email account? I'm not familiar with Virgin media, so you might contact their tech support to find out why you are having a problem sending mail but none receiving mail. I assume your mail account has always been POP3 and not IMAP. Typically, the outgoing mail servers are not the same for the different types of account service.

  • TS4605 why cant i receive mail on my ipad from icloud, but I can send mails?

Why can't I recieve mails on my ipad from icloud?  I can send mails no problems there.  This has only recently happened before it was working fine.  When I go to check for new mails I get the following message: Cannot Get Mail  The connection to the server failed.  Please help, this is very fustrating.

I can hear that frustration for sure. I deal with it every day.
I would continue to push the landline provider over and over and over. They provide you with the landline service. They cannot complete the call to your cell phone. Everyone else can. Therefore it is their responsibility to make it work or at least give you a reasonable detailed explanation as to why it doesn't work so you could at least take the next appropriate steps. Do you have a trouble ticket number with the landline provider? Make sure they give you a trouble ticket number if you don't. Without a trouble ticket number you will have to continually repeat yourself every time you call them. With a ticket number every time you call you could tell the technician to reference that ticket number.
Like I said when you're talking with someone in a managerial position request that they do call traces while you are making the call from the landline in real time. They should be able to see what happens to the call as it comes into and leaves their network. If they give you any call clearing or failure codes please document them and repeat them here.
I would also ask the Rep to also make a test call to your cell phone and see what happens. If they can and you can't then it is clearly a problem with a switch on their network.
    Good luck.
P.s. I typed this whole message using dictation on my iPhone five so hopefully it all came out right if not I apologize if it sounds confusing.

  • Mail will not send, forward, reply, etc.

    Hello world,
I've researched and read many support threads but nothing comes close to describing (or solving) this problem a friend has got with her MBP - I hope someone can help.  Basically revealed as a 'sudden change' in expected results when using the Apple Mail app., as follows:
System: Apple Mail app ver. 5.3 , OS X Lion 10.7.5, used with Google mail only (flawlessly for about a year so far on this machine).  No changes or updates were applied (that might be known) so this is a puzzling problem, an nothing else seems to be affected.
In the Mail app, when attempting to Send, Reply, Reply All or Forward a mail message, nothing happens - no message window is presented to allow continuing with the action. This is true whether using the app buttons for these actions, or menu commands or hot-keys.  Mail retrieval continues to be OK; message navigation is not affected, notes can be opened, etc.
It's obviously not a POP server problem because mail is retrieved OK. SMTP settings all appear to be proper, verified as
Accounts > SMTP server > Advanced:   Use default ports (25,465, 587),  Use SSL.
    Possible secondary symptoms?
One first step taken was to ensure all apps were up to date by running Software Update. At the end of the update a restart was required, but was interrupted by the message "Other: Application mail cancelled restart."  Mail was force-closed to proceed with the restart.
After being minimized, the mail window can be reopened from the doc position at bottom right of the desktop, but not by re-selecting the mail app icon in its normal position.  The app bar indicates that Mail has taken focus, but the mail window does not reappear.
After reviewing Mail Preferences and making a minor change, the preferences could not be saved. Instead, the following message appears:   "Error saving preferences.   Writing your preferences to the disk has failed. Your preferences may not have been saved. The permissions on ~/Library/Preferences may be wrong or your disk may be full." I can confirm that the disk is not full; at least 200GB free.
~/Library/Preferences Sharing & Permissions: are found to be: "You can only read / System: Read & Write / wheel: Read only / everyone: Read only
Any help towards resolution is much appreciated.

    Thanks, all, for your input.
@~Bee:  Yes, Mail is friendly enough and wll-integrated and probably beats Thunderbird, which is 'Plan B' .  I'm sure this can all be corrected - it's perhaps just a case of finding the straightest path instead of trying 'n' different things and creating 10 other problems along the way.
    1.  What do you mean, "sudden change?"  I know you said that no changes were made to the System, but often, changes are made quickly, and forgotten.  So this did not occur after an OS update?
Eseentially: close the lid at night: AOK. Open the lid in the morning: Mail br0k3n.  There was no OS update applied manually other than the after-the-fact update mentioned - and I don't believe anything is running on autopilot.
    2.  Please clairify:
the mail window can be reopened from the doc position at bottom right of the desktop, but not by re-selecting the mail app icon in its normal position.
What does "re-selecting the mail app icon in its NORMAL position" mean???
If minimized, the app can be reopened from the minimized app area (stack area) on the right side of the dock. But if you try to reopen by clicking on the original Mail app icon in its original "normal" position in the dock = no action.  My experience is that this is abnormal.
    3.  What happens if Mail is opened from the Applications folder?
After this time I can't recall if we tried this or not - I believe so but can't be sure. The Mac is miles away at this time so I may have to relay some things.
    Thanks Bee.
PS.  The secret work-around on iOS 6.1.3 battery drain is to turn off Setting > iCloud > Find My <device>

  • Mail will not send since10.7.2 and iCloud

I have had an @me.com mail account for years but since ICloud installation my Mac Air (only) (Mc Pro is ok)will not send but goes into draught only folder and sticks there.
I removed and re installed ICloud mail account using my @me.com address and the rest is automated.
    Any ideas.
    Thank you
    Barry

    Hi Barry,
It still looks like it's using the same smtp.mail.me.com information but it looks like they're using mail stores with all such of funky load balancers. I had the server a dozen times and kept getting all sorts of different host information back. I bet that p99 is the main load balancer and then it routes it through whatever store you're on.
Unfortunately you'll need to contact iCloud support, the new system is not "normal" and easy to troubleshoot and from what I've seen with my own personal experience still having some performance issues during peak time.

  • IPad will not send mail, but iPhone works. Outgoing servers are set up the same. I tried shutting off iPhone to not confuse the wireless network. Still doesn't work.

Can't send mail from iPad but IPhone is sending. Outgoing servers are set up exactly the same. I closed both safari and mail on the iPhone to try and avoid conflicts with iPad. I also shut down and restarted iPad. Still won't send.

Usually it's because you are not making internet connection via wifi.

  • ICloud Mail - will not send in Outlook 2010

    Hello:
I am desperate to get iCloud email working on my Win 7/Outlook 2010 machine. I have iCloud setup on my MacBook Pro and iPad using mail, calendar and contacts. On the Windows machine, I used the iCloud control panel to create the mail account setup.
It used my new @.me.com account as the user (only the name, not the @me.com).
    It used p02-imap.mail.me.com and P02-smtp.mail.me.com
Port 993 with SSL for sending and port 587 with TLS for sending.
The problem is with authenticating to the smtp server. It stops and asks for a password. I have tried every port/encription option and still no joy. It authenticates to the imap for getting messages.
I can login to iCloud's web app and use the MBP and iPad without an issue. It seems like hundreds of people are complaining about the same thing.
What is the ciorrect seetings for iCloud mail and why does the auto config fail?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

I agree, i can't understand why they don't just explain the settings.  And why they do not consistently work.
I too had issues, Outlook was "working" when i set up the @me account, then I started getting the annoying little internat email login popup (that does not go away).  Finally after many "experiments" i have it "apparently working" (will explain working with the following settings:
    accoutn type: IMAP
incoming server: imap.mail.me.com Port: 993: SSL
outgoing server: smtp.mail.me.com   Port: 25 (default): Auto
"Require SPA" is checked, but not on outgoing server.
It does now finally work without putting up the annoying internet email login.  However, now i discoverd a greater problem.
OUTLOOK IS NOT REALLY SENDING THE EMAIL.  It is putting it in the "sent" box as if it did, but no one receives it.  No errors, no warning.  And this dates all the way back to the time i started using the @me account.  My only work around is to use the stupid icloud mail browser app.  Really low in functionality compared to outlook.
This really affects the reliability of the icloud product and this is a serious error.  It really cuts down on the utility of the icloud and whewther it can be integrated with the PC at all.  Like everyone else i have also had the creation of multiple calendars and multiple contacts.
Apple better fix this quick or a lot of people will start using gmail, droid and google cloud products.

  • Clicking on rreply and forward: link uses wrong account to send mail.

I read the answer of the expert about similar questions, but I believe there is a bug in TB. I follow instructions but it isn't possible to change the default email address: I uncheck the checkmark on the accounts that I don't want as default, but when I restart TB, they are newly checked (I find more than one account checked, so that I can't check just one...). Furthermore, nevertheless the desired account is on the top of the list, it isn't anyway the default "reply" or "forward" account

    Thank you.
I don't have the checkbox here. I'm guessing that's due to a setting in Windows Explorer to offer a select checkbox against every item. I don't think it's especially useful or relevant to this particular drop-down menu.
In my case, the "Default account" option on the menu is greyed out on the account that is already designated as the default, and active on all the others. There's no distracting checkbox to confuse matters.
You might like to try the ManuallySortFolders add-on as an alternative way to set the default account.

  • Mail will not send out e-mails from my gmail smtp server

I am using Mail to send and receive e-mails. I have 3 different accounts that I use, of which two are GMail acounts. These two acounts receive e-mails as normal, but upon replying or otherwise sending out e-mail it refuses to send. It appears that the SMTP server is offline. I have re-entered my credentials etc, but this did not fix the problem. Can anyone help me to get over this annoying issue?

My icloud mail to multiple people wll make the swish when it is sent and then it is gone.  It does not even show up in the sent file.  I have to start the email again.  After 2 or 3 tries it finally send and shows up in my sent file after several minutes.  Anyone else having this problem?

Thank you for coming to my rescue! I've checked the email addresses and they're fine... at least they are fine when I look in my contacts. It would appear that when I start writing the address in the 'to' space and it auto-completes then it works. However, if I click on the address book icon in mail then start double clicking on addresses in there, I come up with a problem. I think I might have come up with where the problem is - when the error message (address not valid) shows, it tells me which addresses are not recognised - I clicked on those addresses (in a saved draft) to check them out and when I do, they only show the recipient's name but not their email address - the ones not named as having a problem show the email address. I'm baffled as all the contacts were imported the same way and as when I go into my Contacts, the details of the problematic addresses look exactly the same as the ones without issues... so so strange!
