I sight problem

I have a problem with the isight camera.
I installed updates to my computer no my apple isight does not work.
First I can see myself then it goes black!
I installed a update from mac os 10.4.4 to 10.4.8
A garage band update, Imove update,keynote,pages,quicktime,iphoto,iweb,idvd,itunes 7.0.
How do I fix this?
I have tryed installing iglasses to put up the brightness it does nothing usefull.
Please Help me!

If you did not repair permissions after each of your updates, do so now and see if that fixes your problem. (See Disk Utility > Help if you need instructions.)
If your iSight is still not working properly, apply the Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update (Intel) . Applying the Combo Update may solve your problem. (Non-Intel (PPC) Macs must use this 10.4.8 Combo Updater.)
If you are still having difficulty, you can also consider any other relevant suggestions from Apple's How to Troubleshoot iSight kbase article.
Regarding lighting, Apple suggests that you Use good lighting for the best iSight picture. I have found that my iSight requires more light than my normal room light for best video images. If you cannot make your room brighter while you are using your iSight, consider a small lamp to add light to your subject.
Once you get your iSight working correctly, iGlasses should give you manual control (if you are using your iSight with iGlasses' Supported Video Applications.)
If you get your iSight working again, please let us know what fixed it for you.
If you still have problems after trying all the above, we may be able to offer better suggestions if you tell us:(1) which application(s) you are using with your iSight when you encounter problems.
(2) how long your iSight works before it goes black.
(3) when "it goes black", do you mean that only the iSight view goes black, or does your entire screen go black?
(4) if you can get the picture back after it goes black, what do you do to get it working again?

    If you still have the problem, when you post back tell us which app's Preview you are trying to see, which apps work with iSight, which don't, and whether the problem is EXACTLY the same in every user account that you test.

  • Problems using Visual Composer with Web Dynpro runtime

    I am currently trying to build a Visual Composer iView and we need to use the Web Dynpro runtime rather than Flash because it needs to work with a screen reader for users with sight problems.  Which is a pity because Flash works fine. But when I use Web Dynpro runtime I'm getting the following problems:
    a) When I define fields and pushbuttons in forms where Align Contents is set to Absolute, they do not appear at runtime in the positions in which I've placed them - all form elements are aligned vertically.  The only other options are to align all fields vertically or align all fields horizontally.  This lack of flexibility makes it rather difficult to create a good screen design; the only option seems to be to create a separate form for each set of differently aligned fields, which leads on to the next problem.  . 
    b) When I define more than one form on a page, again at runtime the forms do not always appear in the positions in which I've placed them; the compiler seems to calculate how much space it needs to display the screen elements and then re-sizes and  re-positions the forms accordingly, ignoring what I've told it to do. 
    c) Toolbar pushbuttons do not appear on forms (they do appear on tables).  Irritating, but at least I can still create pushbuttons on the form itself. 
    There are other issues, but the main problems is that it appears that when I use VC with Web Dynpro I cannot trust the editor layout at all and the only way I can build something that looks decent is to fiddle about with  field / form sizes and positions, checking every change on the output, until hopefully I get it looking ok.  Having to do this will dramatically increase the time taken to develop VC applications.  Has anyone else experienced these problems with VC and Web Dynpro?  Has anyone managed to overcome them?

    Thanks, but neither of these describes the problems I've been having.  And they are misleading since they say that you can use VC with Web Dynpro only with Web Services ie not directly with BAPIs / RFCs, but using it with BAPIs / RFCs is one of the few things that works well in our system. 
    The most recent problem I've found is that if you make a form or table read-only it will stay read-only in Flash but the fields are editable in Web Dynpro.  The individual field disable option does work for Web Dynpro, but it turns the fields from black to a vey pale and almost invisible grey (this doesn't happen in Flash).  And you can't seem to change this. 
    It does seem to be a bit pathetic that input fields can't be made read only.  I've tried expression boxes, which are read-only anyway, but they appear in as pale a grey as the disabled input fields.  And although plain text fields can be added to tables, they are pretty useless since they can only hold a single value and so all the lines will contain the same value. 
    I guess I should resign myself to the fact that I am never going to be able to produce a decent screen using VC and Web Dynprp.

  • Html email white box no image

    Dear all,
    I have a sight problem with my html email, I have checked all the links etc and checked the html code but I cannot seem to have a live view of the html. I know this work absolutly fine on my other pc but at work it does not appear after resetting the links at work to the ftp site and local directory. I have even loaded the images directly to the ftp site and these cannot be seen on the copied url from filezilla, if someone could point me in the direction of tutorial or help in sorting this it would be greatly appreicative.

  • ISight only working with a few people.

    ok. this problem is a little hard to explain....my iSight video chat occationally works with some people...and then sometimes it doesnt work. then there is this one person where video chat ALWAYS works. Then there are people that NEVER work on my isight video chat....
    is there any way i can restart my isight or something? if so how? if not...what should i do to make it work better? also, me and my friend have a theory that black macbooks dont work as well as white ones...which is pretty stupid becuz black costs more than white.

    There is no separate procedure to "restart" iSight. iSight is the camera, and it is operated, including starting and stopping, by the software you use.
    You can use Apple's How to Troubleshoot iSight article to find and fix common iSight issues. If your iSight works with any application in any user account, iSight is NOT your problem. Something else is causing your difficulty.
    Both you and every friend that you connect with must meet all requirements for the software and systems you are using. If you are using Leopard's iChat 4, your system myst meet every one of these System Requirements for the kind of chat you want to do.
    Other Applications You Can Use With iSight have different system requirements that will be explained in the documentations for those applications. If your chat friends are using different software than you do, they must meet the requirements for their systems.
    If the above info does not help you, post back and answer the following numbered items:
    (1) whether your problem is with your iSight or with some chat application.
    (2) If iSight works, list which apps work with your iSight and
    (3) which you have tried that do not work properly.
    (4) Also, confirm whether the problem is EXACTLY the same when you try with another user account on your Mac.
    (5) If the problem occurs ONLY with your chat app, post which chat app you are using.
    (6) Tell us what computer, OS, and chat app (including version number) is being used by ONE of your chat buddies with whom you are having intermittent trouble. Trying to solve more than one connection problem simultaneously would be impossibly complicated.
    (7) Describe the problem from (6) in as much detail as you can. (How many time have you tried to connect and how many of those were unsuccessful, does it connect and then fail or not connect at all, does your friend ever experience the same trouble with other chat buddies, has this problem just started or has it been like this since you first used this chat app, have you tried with any other chat apps to see if the problem is the same when using a different app, etc.)
    Based on the details in your response, we will try to help you resolve the problem with this buddy. What you learn there may resolve your problem with some or all of your other chat contacts. If not, we can work on another after you get the first one working reliably.

  • Trouble with normal screen mode

    My I phone has unexpectedly entered a mode that would appear to be useful for those with either blindness or severe sight problems. The screen does not work as normal on the slide to unlock. I have to double tap to get anywhere. I managed to get to settings but the scroll up and down does not work and I can't de-activate this mode. I don't know how the phone entered this mode. Can anyone help?

  • How do I disable the popup "Please describe the image map..." in Dreamweaver CC?

    I've just upgraded from CS6 at work to CC and when drawing image maps it's back to popping up this message:
    The previous solutions I can find (which worked in CS6) do not work here. When I go into my Preferences > Accessibility I only have this option:
    I've tried checking and unchecking Media and restarting Dreamweaver with the same results each time. I'll be going back to CS6 until I can resolve this. I draw a LOT of image boxes, and I do put "alt" labels on them, but having to click okay each and every time is just not practical.  Thanks for any assistance.

    What this message is telling you is that when you insert an image, you should always enter something useful in the alt attribute like this:
    <img src="my_image.jpg" alt="Company Logo">
    I guess this is to help people with sight problems who can use voice synthesizer to read out the page for them.
    Now I don't use CC version so the best way to enter this is by going in the code view and entering these manually.  That is how I normally do even in CS6 or Expression Web 4

    Forms allow access keys for menu items and buttons using the alt key in a two tier client server environment.
    Can anyone tell me how Oracle handles this when forms are running on the web. The alt key combination will result in the menus for IE or Netscape to be activated.
    Also, how does oracle handle key-triggers that have been mapped to certain keys.

  • Reset Password policy rules

    Hi all -
    Anyone know how we can get the characters 1,0 I, L, O, B, 8, Z, 2 to be removed from the random password generator (as they may cause a problem especially for users with sight problems)?
    Password policy doesn;t seem to prohibit specific letters or allow you to customise for the reset password case

    The "password policy" setting have an option to specify "Must not contain words". Did you try specifying the letters in there?
    Alternatively, you can write your own random password generator rule and if the generated password contains any of those above characters then issue a fresh one, else use it.

  • Change background colour

    I have just upgrade it today.
    Due to my disability, I can't use it now because I can't really see it!! Too white!!
    I tried invert colour.. Too black!!
    I prefer the old colour.
    How do I get it back?? Can I downgrade back to IOS 6??
    Maybe it's something for Apple to reconsider the colours for backgrounds to avoid discrimination to people who have sight problems.
    Any suggestions or advice will be appreciated. Would love to continue use my iPhone. I haven't upgrade my iPad yet.

    There could be few reason, one: may be you are overwriting wrong css class. Make sure you open page in chrome and watch css class name as view element to be sure before overweight.

  • Interface Ideas

    I use Nokia 6021 model and I like Nokia Interface, BUT... (always some but's): 1. Dailled numbers should contain in Options a feature to call another number for the selected contact. For example, I found a contact Olga Efremova - and dialled her - but the phone is locked or they told me that Olga forgot her phone at home and now she is at her office. I Push Green Dial button, select last number, in Options I select "Dial another number" and phone shows me all Olga's numbers. Why do I need it? I have 5 Oleg, 15 Olgas, 5 Olyas and I don't want to search in contacts again. 2. Search with asterisks. In Contacts book I store people usually in 'First Name' space 'Second Name' format. As I said I have many Olgas. Why not making a feature to search 'Ol*E' or "Ol E" to find Olga Efremova instantly whithout scrolling all Olgas. 3. In BT there should be on option not to beep when connection is established/lost with a device. I don't really like when I work with my laptop Nokia Sync automatically connects and when I leave for a second to another room it beeps. I switched off signals, but now I don't hear battery empty sound - that's not good at all. 4. By the way, why is it not possible to sync with phone once a day - the first time the phone connects - not every time. I do not like when it tells me every time "Contacts: Ok Notes: Ok" - that's not really needed (or at least should be possible to switch off. 5. Auto Diall if busy should Ring when it succeded to dial the number. I always forget about autodialling and when it connects - the phone is always in a pocket. 6. Phonebook search and sms should have different language selections fot typing. If I typed something in English that doesn't mean that I became English person and all my contacts immediately became English, too. 7. Feature to autodelete sms reports older than 1 day or 1 hour or 2 reports and so on, or even deleted after they have been shown on screen after delivery. 8. Nokia Software should have an sms archive with a calendar. And there should be an option to archive valuable sms (except reports and sms's from provider's - custom list of numbers 411, 511, +375296000100 and so on). Archiving should be preformed manually or automatically for old sms's. 9. In Contact list when pressing # - the number is shown in bigger font, but anyway it doesn't show the full name - for people with sight problems it's ok, but for others - this feature would be good to show the full name - whe number is not really needed - so you need an option in Contacts->Settings-> Show bigger letter with phone number or Show full name. 10. When sending an sms and selecting a recepient and you suddenly remember that you forgot to add 'Thanks' to the end of the message, you want to go back, but there is not such button 'Back' — you have to clear all the numbers in the 'Phone number' feild before 'Back" apperars insted of Clear. Why not putting Back function on the left shortcut button. 11. Why Nokia Phone browser shows contacts in such a strange way - not the way they are stored in phone memory. In my case it understand First/Second names right, but it shows in Second/First name format. But it's not right, especially when I store not only First/second name but there is also middle name or Nickname. So it shows in Middle/Second/First name format - looks strange. 12. Syncronising with Outlook produces many duplicates (I had up to 4) with old numbers, old unedited names. 13. And the last one - there should be an option to sync with Outlook only those contacts which have a specific keyword, e.g. "Mobile Phone" (or any custom one). And all new contacts which have been created on phone should be imported with this keyword by default. The same with tasks, nots and calendar. Too much? Maybe but I face these problems frequently and would be happy if you make changes in future phones (or even patches to my phone). Pavel

    Probably good ideas, but with everything written in a single paragraph, at least I am not too keen on trying to decipher it that way.
    Please, edit your post and separate each suggestion with a couple of empty lines, and if your idea consists of several lines/paragraphs, put an empty line between those, too.
    Many good ideas get ignored, if the presentation of it is not good.

    Looks like somewhere along the line the "high contrast" mode for users with sight problems has been activated. Go to Settings>ease of access>high contrast and set to Off.

  • Does the new FireFox30 mean that I will no longer be able to see text clearly without my NoSquint PlugIn?

    Dear FireFox,
    I have increasing sight problems and need to be able to set or at least increase the miniscule size of website fonts, however due to peoples' terrible formatting of their websites and use of frames I occasionally need to reduce the font size just to make a search box available (instance noted on ShareCG's website, among others).
    I have enough problems navigating websites without continually having to authorise a plug in for every single page I visit.
    Please, please tell me this isn't going to get worse for me due to your arbitrary decision (i.e. this is the first I've heard of it) to phase out the very plugin I need so much, as well as other helpful plugins.

  • Client has me completely dumbfounded?

    Dear all.. My most recent client had me develop an interactive building information model for thier kiosk (touch screen map)... no big deal as all of you know. Just a moment ago, i got off the phone with my contact within the company, with a new request, of course, all of us know how that is. They would like for me to make this FLASH AS3 map system hadicap friendly, more spesifically, for the blind. Yes, I said blind, I am all for making the world a better place for indviduals with disabilities, but how can i make a interactive map, on a touch screen, without speakers, blind person friendly? I told them, I would have to get back with them because I am swamped with work (not really) but I had no idea what to tell them other than they are #$@$@%@#$%^ crazy.
    Please anybody, what do i do with that...How do I work with these people? Or am i wrong in thinking its impossible.

    I do a fair amount of work with special needs software, and in my experience 'blind' doesn't always mean '100% cannot see a thing', it's often used to encompass the whole spectrum of sight-problems.  Obviously you cannot do something for people that cannot see a thing within the constraints you have, but you can certainly accommodate partially-signted people.  The basic guidelines we use when making software for partially-sighted people are use lots of high-contract colours, don't use small buttons or small text (in fact use a little text as possible) keep everything big and clear, don't have rapidly moving animations, keep everything slow and deliberate and so on.  You can probably find a better list of guidelines on the net somewhere if this is what you client actually wants.

I have a problem with a Macbook Air.  It was working fine - I was using LR and a message came on the screen that said something like the memory was dangerously low.  I stopped and tried to delete LR files.  I couldn't do it.  I closed the program and tried reopening and got the message that there is not enough memory available to open LR.  I contacted Apple.  They spent a half hour on the phone with me and eventually told me they didn't know how to help. The tech said that LR had gobbled up all the memory and said I should contact Adobe and ask where and how my photo files are stored and to delete them.  I have several back-ups.  Thanks - Arthur

    This sort of error message only comes up for Lightroom when your hard disk is full. Indeed this has nothing to do with internal memory as that will be intelligently be dealt with. If you have a mac Book Air that is not so surprising as the cheapest versions come with very small hard disks and if you shoot raw with any recent camera, you'll fill up your hard disk very quickly and you can probably only store a few months of pictures if you are a typical photographer. So the bottom line is that you need to create some room on your hard disk. You should move some of your originals to an external hard disk. You can also delete some of your backup copies of your catalog file that Lightroom automatically generates every few days and that quickly gobble up hard disk space. So first figure out how full your hard disk is. To see that, go to the apple menu, hit -> About this Mac -> More info->Storage. You should see your internal hard disk on top and you'll find that it is almost entirely full with photos. Now find your Lightroom catalog file using Finder. It is usually in a folder in the Pictures folder in your home directory. You should see a Lightroom 5 Catalog.lrcat file, a previews file and a folder called backups. Inside the backups folder, you'll find a lot of subfolders. They have names that show the dates the backups were created. If you have backups of your entire hard disk, you can delete these backups when they are older than a few months. I usually only keep the last 4 around. Just drag the folders into the trash can on the dock on the bottom of your screen and empty the trash. This will probably free up enough space that Lightroom will already run again. Now start thinking about where you will want to store older images. If you have a good USB3 or Thunderbolt hard disk that is probably the best option. If you follow that, as soon as you confirm all your images are on the new hard disk, you can delete them from your internal one. She is not so clear about that part but if you don't delete the originals that you moved off you don't free up space. You should move the folder structure over to the new hard disk and then reconnect the folders in Lightroom. That should make it refind all your images.
    That said, if you are uncomfortable with the computer in itself, your best bet is to find a local photography club. There is invariably a Lightroom savvy person in there that could help you move your files. That might be your best bet if you are uncomfortable moving these yourself. A general mac savvy person like you would find at an Apple store or so generally will not be able to help you with this except when they are photographers themselves and know Lightroom. You might get lucky with that.
