I synced ipod to itunes (windows), itunes removed all my single purchased songs from my iphone. I can see the songs in itunes, but they are gray and I can't move them back to my iphone or to any other device. I can't play them on the computer in itunes, I can't move them back to my iphone (where original purchase was made), and I can't move them into another ipod.

I had the Itunes store do this to one song out of three I downloaded. I went back to the Itunes store and reclicked on the song to download it again. It ran the download again and got the complete song this second time. Then I just resynced with my Itunes and all is fixed.

Highlight the video in iTunes and choose Advanced -> Create iPod or iPhone version and wait for it to finish converting. Then try and sync the newly converted version over to your iPod Classic.

HT1848 I can see the songs that I purchased and it says downloaded but the songs can't be located on ITunes on my desktop.

My hard drive crashed and I moved my I Tunes library back from Carbonite but there are songs / albums that are missing! Lots of Exclamation points!
Anyway, I can see the songs and albums on my purchased list in the ITunes store page. They all say they are "downloaded" but ITunes on my computer can't find the songs.
I looked on my hard drive and the are not on the hard drive. How can I Re-Download to put these purchased songs back on my new hard drive? The songs are on my I Phone but I don't want to sync since it will strip them out of my phone too.

Try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

Make sure your new computer is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your ipod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.

Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your ipod got wiped during the first sync.

As mentioned by vazandrew, music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.

How do I transfere a playlist from my iPod to my computer, which I made on my computer from all my songs. I've tried export and import, but they are not working.

I accidently created a playlist sitting at my computer but saved to my iPod. I would like the playlist on my Itunes library so my husband can put the play list on his ipod which is also synced to my/our computer.
I tried to export the playlist then import. It seems like it imported, but i don't see it. How do I find it? on the videos I watched the playlist just shows up in the iTunes library playlist column.
It did not. What do I do next?

The file is transferred to your device or saved in the location you specified on your computer.

problem solved removing the authorisation of the computer and re-authorizing. but now i cannot add to an existing playlist because it say to me that this songs are not icloud playlisted? Why.....Maybe this new version need a lot of fix!!

My ipod screen doesnt work whats happening? when i screen shot i can hear the sound it makes but th escreen doent turn white and when i put it on the charger you hear the sound it makes when you plug it in

last night i opened my ipod and used a phone app, the app froze so i closed it. Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database followed by Option #1 if necessary.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
