All the emails you get back from them do is lead you in circles or give you answers to completely different problems. Stupid automated things. My mediasource/other creative software is painfully slow, but transfers are fast in wmp and yahoo so I know it's not a usb problem. Does anyone know what it could be? It's only a problem with mediasource and media explorer. I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and whatever else I could think of.

I avoid any and all packaged software like the plague, usually it works just about as well as dropping your pants and taking a nice **** all over your player.

One charge I was getting the full 30 hour battery life and the next it dropped to under ten. I tried using their tips on how to extend the battery life and I am still getting less than 0 hours of battery life. Why would it dropped more than half the amount between charges? I tried recharging it after it ran out and still the same thing. Any help?
Second, (I am adding this question because it might relate to the first in some way) my mp3 player has been behaving strangely lately. For example, some artists sometimes have letters removed or all but the first end up being removed. But, if you reset the player, the artists go back to the full name. Also, my player has been taking a little longer than usual to turn on. It takes about 30 seconds to turn on instead of the 5-0 that I'm used to. Does anyone know why this might be happening?
My Zen is only 4 months old, and I would be very upset it it's breaking already. Please, if you have any suggestions on how I can fix what's happening, post them. (Even if they?probably won't work, they're worth a try.)

< This is an unusual one; never heard of it before. All I can suggest is cleaning up and perhaps reflashing the firmware. If it still is doing this, then get the thing exchanged pronto.

If Wi-Fi is greyed out, it is not possible to backup to iCloud.
If the device is backed up to iTunes and contacts, calendars, notes, etc are synced to a supported application or cloud service, and media and pictures are on the computer, then a restore will not cause any data to be lost.

I would post this in the correct forum, but I can't remember which one it was under.....probably the refine one, but I couldn't find it...at any rate, I was really nasty about the technical support as I was having so much trouble with that particular tool...and that's the main reason I upgraded to CS5 Extended..... and found out the tech had called while I was at work...He called twice yesterday and was soooo nice...solved lots of other issues and got on my screen and saw the problem with the refinement tool....it was making the hair that was outside the mask gray and not brunette. He stayed on the phone well past his quitting time and really tried to help, plus being very professional and extra nice! He was going to do some further research and see if he could figure out what was wrong and call tonight...soooo now I feel like a creep!

Anything I should know about the 990FXA-GD80V2 before purchase?

I'm considering getting a new motherboard in the next few days or so, and currently have my eye on the 990FXA-GD80V2. I plan to pair it with the FX-8350 and a R7850, and likely use Linux.
I was wondering if there was anything in-particular I should know before buying this board. For example, I recall reading somewhere that someone had to do a BIOS update to get their FX-8350 to use the right voltage or something.
I'm doing a good bit of research myself, but I'd like to avoid another experience like the one I had with ASRock.

The MSI GD80 is a solid cool running board that can handle any FX cpu. My 8350 will bench and run at over 5ghz with air cooling but is stable at 4.7 ghz for everyday use. Thanks for the feedback. I'm curious though, what exactly about the ASUS Sabertooth board makes it run hotter than the GD80? Would figure the CPU temps to be relatively the same, but maybe you're talking about another component like the VRMs or NB?
Also, what's that ClickBiosII thing? Is it a custom BIOS? From quick-glance at the archive, perhaps it's a BIOS-configuration tool that can be used from Windows to directly-alter the BIOS?
I put in the order for the GD80V2 a little bit ago; seems it'll be a manufacturer-refurbished board. Does anyone happen to have any first-hand experience as to how warranty is handled with such hardware? From my understanding, it seems used hardware carries whatever warranty existed since the hardware's purchase date, but refurbished hardware carriers only a 90-day warranty. Is the 90-day limit true, and if so, is it a "hard" limit (as in, you get absolutely 0 support after 90 days), or perhaps handled on case-by-case (MSI "might" be kind enough to do the RMA after 90 days depending on issue)?

Mac mini "clunk" ... diasappointed about the apple support!

i am very disappointed. so many people have the same "problem". the clunk sound of the hard drive. and some people have also the problem with the little "freeze" some times the clunk appears. there are so many discussions about that on the web. but the apple support alwas says:"we don't know about this problem"
haha ... thats not the way to handle customers.

Do you have a specific technical question relating to this problem? Does your mini suffer from the 'clunk' or the 'clunk with pause'? Have you contacted Apple and reported a fault? Have you taken your mini for repair?
As far as the discussions on this issue that have taken place here, the clunk is generally normal - my mini does it and has done since it was new at the end of January this year. It does it rather less than it used to, or at least rather less noisily - I guess it would be characterized as having changed from a 'clunk' to a 'click'. But my Sony Vaio 505GL also makes the same noise, as does at least one of the 3 drives in my G4. I can't tell if the drive in my IBM desktop does because the infernal system makes so much other noise!
If your mini suffers the 'clunk with pause' issue, then that is not normal and shouldn't be doing it. In that instance, if you call Apple and report the fault and they tell you that they've never heard of it, so what? You have a fault, a warranty and they are responsible for repairing it. You might take the system to an Apple Store first to have a 'genius' look at it - that way there would be two of you who can attest to it's behavior.
As for Apple support - if you have called and feel you have not got the service you deserve, call back, repeat the issue and if you still get an unsatisfactory answer, ask for the call to be escalated to a supervisor, and keep going until you speak to someone who offers you a solution.

Is there anything similar to Director in the Creative Cloud?

We are considering updating our current (wildly out of date) version of Director, but there are a number of other products in which we are interested that are part of the Creative Cloud. So, I was wondering if there was anything included in the Creative Cloud that is similar to Director, so we could just purchase just that subscription...? We are currently using Director to create Interfaces and launch videos/PDFs.

Flash Pro is included with Creative Cloud so that might be one consideration.
Also, if you install Premiere Pro CS6 it includes Encore CS6 as part of the installation for authoring DVD or Blu-ray content. Depending on what you're wanting to create, i.e. interactive content for a kiosk or something

SSR, if you read this, do you remember in what topic did someone list the exact differences between the firmware number of the old batch and the new one?
I distinctly remember seeing something like this:
old serials ....
new serials differ in respect to ...
but can't find the topic in question. It'd be ab interesting bit of info anyway, since I'm beginning to put together an article about the headphone socket problems.

Store would not take back by broken studio beats cause the serial number and box didnt match

so i went to return my studio wireless beats today cause the right side volume was not working. the waterword lakes store manager would not take them cause the box and headphones serial numbers did not match and accused me and having more than one pair. These are the only beats i own and have ever owned they were bought online from best buy and box was sealed by my wife. so how would you ever know the serial numbers dont match? Open it in front of a best buy manager before you leave?? said for me to call beats myself. So $360 bucks down the drain? They were probably refurbed and boxed during black friday is my guess. not good best buy

Is there anything I can do about the photos not enlarging to full size?

I recovered my iPhoto library from time machine backup. As I changed my HDD. but some image are not comming full size. how I can get the file back???

How did you "recover" your photos from TM? Did you use TM to restore the iPhoto library or did you use the finder to copy your iPhoto library over?

Get them from your PhotoStream if they are there. See:

Restore another iOS device from the backup of the iPod. See:

Extract them from the iTunes backup
Recover iPhone, iPad or iPod photos from backups with Picturescue
lost
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
- Apple will do nothing
