MY APOLGIES ABOUT THE TECH SUPPORT HERE!

I would post this in the correct forum, but I can't remember which one it was under.....probably the refine one, but I couldn't find it...at any rate, I was really nasty about the technical support as I was having so much trouble with that particular tool...and that's the main reason I upgraded to CS5 Extended..... and found out the tech had called while I was at work...He called twice yesterday and was soooo nice...solved lots of other issues and got on my screen and saw the problem with the refinement tool....it was making the hair that was outside the mask gray and not brunette.  He stayed on the phone well past his quitting time and really tried to help, plus being very professional and extra nice!  He was going to do some further research and see if he could figure out what was wrong and call tonight...soooo now I feel like a creep!

  • I was referred to this site because Internet Explorer would not allow me to navigate to web page. Therefore the tech-support staff sugested I try your site to get to the web page

upon logging into this program open road x3 from the site realeflow.com. I get a msg "navigation to web page has been canceled" so I contacted the tech-support staff. They informed me that in the past this problem has occurred with internet explorer, so they referred your site to me, as a option to get into the web page from their site. I have never used your site to get into a web page before. So I do not exactly know how this works??????????

In Firefox 3.6.4 and later the default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings".
See "Firefox connection settings" in [[Server not found]]
You can find the connection setting here: Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select No Proxy
Another possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that,.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

  • The backlight on my ipod touch 3rd generation will not come on, but everything works perfectly. I even used the advice given on the tech support page, and it still will not come on. HELP ME PLEASE.

The backlight on my ipod touch 3rd generation will not come on, but everything else is working fine I even took the tech support advice by plugging it in and resetting it, but that didn't fix the issue either. I need help.

    If not this:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem.
    Also heating sometimes works. See:
Why can't I select my wifi settings?
A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
    Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
    Then:
Does the iOS device connect to other networks? See other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Where the heck is Apple TEch Support Here?

The number of connectivity issues with Windows appears to me to be significant, and connecting should not be this hard.
I have an original iPod, 2 minis and my daughter a new 4gb Nano - which for the life of me I cannot get connected to windows.
All I can say is that the level of tech support on these boards *****.

Problem no2: I cannot install the software and therefore cannot register online, see here for details:

  • Can I vent about Adobe tech support?

Man, am I frustrated. I upgraded to CS4 because I was having problems viewing some files in CS3. Concurrently, I upgraded to Snow Leopard. Now, when I open up a page from our site in Dreamweaver, the headlines, which are all in Courier, don't display (you can see them, however, in preview). The very same files display perfectly in CS3.
I've tried working with the CSS, tried changing the code, all to no avail. Yesterday, I called tech support. He had me reinstall. That did no good. Then he put me on hold, came back, put me on hold again, came back. None of his suggestions worked. About 45 minutes into the call, the line went dead.
I called again this morning. I explained what we did yesterday and asked for some kind of level two support. The woman said let's try a few things first. The first thing she told me though was that CS4 did not support Courier. I told her I could change fonts to Courier in the body of my document. She put me on hold. Came back, had me change the prefs. That didn't work. Put me on hold again, came back and said that I should contact the community of experts.
I said but I just spent all this money purchasing your software, why can't I speak to someone on the next level of support. She said the community of experts did work for Adobe. It appeared to me that the people were volunteers who nicely offered their time to help, and while I appreciated that, I really wanted to speak to someone who worked directly for the company. She insisted that they were Adobe employees.
When I expressed my doubt, the line went dead. This time I was convinced it was not an accident. Now, I'm a reporter by training. I know how to talk to people on the phone, and I know very well that you don't get anywhere by being rude or raising your voice. I was clear however that I did want to speak to someone in Tech support on the next level. But all I ended up with was a dead line and software that doesn't work the way it should.
Is there some one way to get to Level Two? At this point I'd be willing to pay (even though I don't think I should) to straighten this out.
    Ok, I feel better now.

Sorry you're having problems, but Snow Leopard was released only a few days ago. CS4 is now a year old. I have upgraded to Snow Leopard without problems, but others have experienced a lot of pain. It's difficult to know where the fault lies.
She said the community of experts did work for Adobe.
She's wrong. Community Experts are not Adobe employees. Nor do they receive any payment for the help they offer in the forums. Many of us will be attending a "Community Summit" just before Adobe MAX in Los Angeles in three weeks' time. I intend to raise this point at the meeting.  We're experts in using Adobe programs, not a dumping ground for problems that the paid support staff fail to handle.
There, I've let off steam too.

  • Know more detail about the Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One ?

SAP Business One 9.1 is about to release this year and we can see in the feature enhancements that a significant update is planned in the Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One, more commonly known as RSP. Let’s have a quick look what update is planned for RSP in version 9.1:
Enhancements planned in Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One 9.1
RSP is planned to support both SAP Business One on Microsoft SQL Server as well as SAP Business One on HANA Database
RSP Processes and Reports adapted to SAP HANA Database
With this plan RSP will help in the areas of Download, Installation, Go-Live Check, Monitoring, Upgrade and Support for SAP Business One both   on SQL Server and HANA.
But like me (non-SAP B1 Consultant) many of you have the question what is RSP and how it helps in support? Here I have tried to gather all information.
What is Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One?
The remote support platform for SAP Business One is designed to protect a SAP Business One installation by providing automated and remote support in a high-volume business.
The platform monitors the entire SAP Business One environment. By significantly reducing the time between the appearance, identification, and resolution of issues, the remote support platform for SAP Business One minimizes the impact on customer databases and processes.
Some Key Features of Remote Support Platform:
Showing alerts to SAP B1 Admin about the events which require their attention, such as low disk space, database backups, etc.
Incident Reports against the issues identified which require attention of SAP Support
Company Database Backup and Restore options
Regular fixes of Company Database inconsistencies
Check, Download and Install regular updates in SAP Business One
Upload Logs and required files to SAP Support or to Partner Support on regular basis
Some details about RSP Backup Management
Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly backups
Perform differential and full database backups
    Back up transaction logs
Back up files to shared folders on a network
    System Status Report through RSP
From June 1st 2013, it will be mandatory to install, configure and upload the System Status Report (SSR) from Remote Support Platform (RSP) for SAP Business One in order to receive support for messages of a technical nature (upgrades, performance & crashes, etc).
    Database uploads only via RSP
From June 1st 2013 SAP Business One Support will only accept database uploads to SAP via remote support platform for SAP Business One. In certain exceptional circumstances STFP may be used but this will constitute a minority of cases.
    Microsoft Windows PowerShell Scripting
In the remote support platform studio, you can create tasks using Microsoft Windows PowerShell scripting. PowerShell enables you to perform remote administrative tasks on customers’ Microsoft Windows operating systems, by providing full access to Component Object Model (COM) and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI).Some Network Prerequisite for RSP
To achieve the internet connection test, you must allow port 80 for the RSP external communication
Disabling antivirus firewall or add the RSP to the trusted zone of the antivirus
    Set the correct proxy
Disabling Windows firewall in the TP_link Wireless Configuration Utility

  • Why doesn't Verizon do something about their tech support?????

Verizon Tech Support is definitely outsourced to call centers outside the country.  They are quick to offer an apology to your problem, but they make it very apparent that it is your problem.  If you do not do exactly as they instruct you to do, they will happily close out your ticket, and your problem still remains unsolved.  I have been through the ringer with them on more than one occassion about the same exact issues.  Each time that I call, I have to go through the same song and dance, eventhough it is the exact same issue that I have contacted them about before, and the issue is clearly on their end and not on my system.  On one occassion, I sat and argued with a gentlemen in Mexico that my issue wasn't fixed.  They said it was fixed.  I said it wasn't, and I would loose my DSL connection while I was on the phone with him.  Another instance, they disconnected my DSL because I have dry loop service and my home line did not have a dial tone, so the techs came out and disconnected everything.  Tech support was a joke then as well.  I was on the phone for several hours trying to convince them that it was an issue on thier end and not mine. They claimed that I had to be home for the repairman to come out, but I did not have to be home for them to come out and disconnect it in the first place.   Because I would not go through all their trouble shooting steps, they would close my ticket out and my problem would remain my problem until I would call them again.   It took an act of God for them to come out and get things reconnected again.  I actually feel physically ill now when I have an issue with my DSL because I know what it will entail just to get the trouble ticket set up.  I have had the operators claim that we have a bad connection (after being on the phone with them for over an hour).  They claim that they will need to call you back, but then they never do.  When I call back and check on the status, guess what, my trouble ticket had been closed out.   This past instance, I called and complained about a slow connection.  The same exact issue that I contacted them about over a month ago.  After going through the song and dance again, they claimed that someone would call me back in 24 hours, and no one has.  I have complained to the FCC and the State Corporation Commission on more than one occassion, but it seems as if it just business as usual for Verizon.  {please keep it relevant} I think that is the only way that they will get the message that what they are doing just isn't going to cut it anymore, and they need to make some changes.  I have cut my home phone line with them because of their lack of service.  If I had an alternative to DSL available to me in my neighborhood, I would gladly take it so I could finally severe all ties to that company.  There has to be something better than business as usual.

{please keep it relevant}  I contacted tech. support on Sunday about my slow internet connection.  I was pulling 52 kbits/s on a 3M service.  This is the second time that I have had this issue.  The last time I contacted tech support about this issue was about  a month ago.  I went through the same song and dance without any resolution.  Somehow the next day, my connection was corrected and I was getting my 3M service again.
This lasted for a month.  I called Sunday, 10/11/09 about a slow connection again, Same issue, only able to get 52 kbits/s.  Yet, I had to set through the same old song and dance with Verizon tech support.  We did things like clear my internet explorer cache and cookies and run a speed test, when I already told the foreign gentlemen on the other end of the line what my connection speed was.  How is that going to help improve my connection speed?????  At the end of it all, I was told that I would be contacted by a senior tech support specialist from Verizon within 24 hours.  Sure as the sun shines, it is now Tuesday, 10/13/09 and I have yet to hear anything from the senior Verizon tech. support..   The kicker is that I am not at all surprised by this.  This is now the norm for Verizon.  Yet, I still pay my bill.  I am still under my contract.
I am going to make a prediction.  Next month about this exact same time, I will be contacting Verizon with the exact same complaint, a slow interner connection, and I will have to go through the same old song and dance and have to do things like re-boot my modem and clear my internet explorer cache and cookies and run a speed test, eventhough I have told the foriegn guy from tech support that I have already done all this.  Then, they will promise that someone from the senior tech support from Verizon will give me a call back within 24 hours and I will not hear from anyone.
    {please keep it relevant}

  • I stumped the tech support guy

i bought logic express 7 in the spring, never got to use it as my audio unit broke and im awaiting repair, ive got a g5 power pc and a new mac book, i bought the logic studio upgrade last week figuring id just go the distance , but! as i try to install the software on both the g5 and the mac book i cant get past the serial # , after typing it in and being told it was invalid about 50 times, i sat on hold for a night while tech support tried to figure it out, they can't.has anyone ever expirienced this? i type the serial # as it reads, over and over always the same alert "the serial # you just added is invalid"

Your current problem might have something to do with your initial install of LE. If your tech guy didn't already go through all this, make sure the old LE is fully installed, registered, and even fully operational at least once on one of your computers. Often an installation isn't complete until you go to use the ap for the first time. Then proceed to install the upgrade on that same computer.
Not sure if LE is officially licensed for more than one machine (although I know it works) so this could be a complication as well, once you try authorizing the upgrade on a machine that never had a "valid" install of LE in the first place. I hope I'm wrong about this.

  • Mac mini "clunk" ... diasappointed about the apple support!

i am very disappointed. so many people have the same "problem". the clunk sound of the hard drive. and some people have also the problem with the little "freeze" some times the clunk appears. there are so many discussions about that on the web. but the apple support alwas says:"we don't know about this problem"
haha ... thats not the way to handle customers.

Do you have a specific technical question relating to this problem? Does your mini suffer from the 'clunk' or the 'clunk with pause'? Have you contacted Apple and reported a fault? Have you taken your mini for repair?
As far as the discussions on this issue that have taken place here, the clunk is generally normal - my mini does it and has done since it was new at the end of January this year. It does it rather less than it used to, or at least rather less noisily - I guess it would be characterized as having changed from a 'clunk' to a 'click'. But my Sony Vaio 505GL also makes the same noise, as does at least one of the 3 drives in my G4. I can't tell if the drive in my IBM desktop does because the infernal system makes so much other noise!
If your mini suffers the 'clunk with pause' issue, then that is not normal and shouldn't be doing it. In that instance, if you call Apple and report the fault and they tell you that they've never heard of it, so what? You have a fault, a warranty and they are responsible for repairing it. You might take the system to an Apple Store first to have a 'genius' look at it - that way there would be two of you who can attest to it's behavior.
As for Apple support - if you have called and feel you have not got the service you deserve, call back, repeat the issue and if you still get an unsatisfactory answer, ask for the call to be escalated to a supervisor, and keep going until you speak to someone who offers you a solution.

  • Can I complain about the Customer Service here?

I just had a very measured conversation with the Service Repair people, but there were a few things that struck me as utterly ridiculous.  So if Lenovo is interested in understanding the customer perspective, I thought it would be a good idea to share.
I bought a IdeaPad s10-3 netbook a little under a year ago.  I did extensive shopping around to find a machine that was not only a good deal, but that would be more than the piece of crap netbook that my sister has (she has an HP).  I liked the s10-3, and despite the Lenovo reputation for bad customer service and questionable quality for their non-Thinkpads, I bought it.
I absolutely loved it for the 9+ months that I had it.  It was good to surf the internet and write e-mails, it had an excellent battery life, it was very portable, and it could handle Microsoft Office.  Apparently I loved it to much.  I took it too many places.  Because despite placing it in a memory foam carrying case when I took it around, I found that the cover (basically the screen) was misaligned when I closed it.  One of the plastic hinge covers had broke.
The plastic had broken off the bezel and it was no wonder that the stresses was centered on that piece - there wasn't much else holding the hinge in place.  Once that plastic was gone other plastic parts started to snap out of place.
"Okay," I thought," this netbook was fairly cheap, I guess eventually the plastics had to fail."  I just thought that less than a year was a pretty short lifetime.  I remembered that the warranty covered a year, so I sought to find out if it would be covered and how I could get it fixed.  I thought about just gluing the piece back to the bezel and snapping everything back in place.  But hey, if it was still under warranty, why not get it professionally fixed?
The first time I called the Support Center, the technician couldn't find my warranty because his system was down.  He asked me to see if there was another Serial Number, which there wasn't.  He told me he would call me back with the system was up again.  He did not.
I called again, armed with the necessary information: Serial Number, Model, Type, Product ID, anything that identified my machine.  This time, the technician was able to get my information and I explained the problem.  I told him I thought the machine was still under warranty and he told me to send it in.  I asked if I could just take it into a local Service Center but he said, no, it had to be sent to their center in Texas.  He said they would take care of everything, unless they found that it was the product of abnormal use (i.e. I took a hammer to it).
I sent it in (for ~$20). So, done deal, I thought.
Nope, I got a call a week later.  Apparently the hinge is not covered by the warranty.  Only hardware is covered.  So Lenovo doesn't have to replace or repair the cheap, superficial plastic outsides, but just the expensive, important insides.  I had thought that this might be a possibility (despite the fact that the technician said that the warranty covered it), but the part I want replaced was plastic, so how expensive could it be?
Apparently, as much as the machine.  Seriously.  They wanted to charge me $300 to replace the bezel.  I asked if it was that expensive because the LCD screen needed to be replaced.  Nope, just the plastic parts.  As a customer, it's ridiculous to pay that much to replace superficial, cheap parts.  So I told them I wouldn't pay and that they should just send the machine back to me.
I also told them to make sure that they send back the plastic hinge so that I could repair it myself (super glue ftw!).  The technician on the phone with me couldn't (or wouldn't) guarantee that they would send the hinge back.  She kept asking if I sent it with the machine (I did, and I mentioned so in the letter I sent with the machine) and that she didn't know if the technician working on my machine had kept it.  I explained why I wanted the hinge back and asked if there was anything that she could do for me if they didn't send it back.  She stammered.  I understood that she couldn't personally make sure that the hinge would be in the box with my machine.  But really, couldn't she do anything to help me?
So instead of simply gluing the piece back and having a working (with less structural integrity) netbook, I'm already out $20, plus the time it took to call the Center and package and ship the machine, and I might not even be able to repair it myself!
I would have been infinitely better off if I had decided to trust Lenovo's Customer Service reputation and fix it myself.  Or if I was simply told in the first place "Lenovo's warranty doesn't cover that."
Let's hope that my brand-new ThinkPad t420s never has to get serviced.  Or maybe next time I should just get a MacBook.
    Case Number WN378375

Well that settled it.  I WILL NO LONGER BE BUYING LENOVO.  My dad disapproved of me buying Lenovo over (what he perceived as) superior quality American products, and I disagreed - but not anymore.  Some of Lenovo's policies are seriously idiotic.
I just got off the phone with their Repair Center/Customer Service line.  I asked for his supervisor, since I was sure that the Support Rep. couldn't do anything for me.  After a delay, I finally got to explain why I was calling and ask if there is anything that he could do for me.  I told him that a customer has a reasonable expectation that sending in a machine should make the situation better, not worse. He kept saying "Unfortunately, we cannot give out free repairs..."  But I wasn't asking for a free repair.  I just wanted SOMETHING, ANYTHING other than a pat on the back and a "So sorry, pal" kind of attitude from a company that just screwed up.  He said that the only "concession" he could give me was for free shipping of the machine.  I asked what he meant, since I had already received the machine back.  He explained that if I wanted to send the machine back to get it repaired, and pay the repair fee, Lenovo would pay for the shipping.
    Seriously.
Lenovo's "concession" was to ship back the machine so I could pay for the service that I didn't want to pay for in the first place.
He couldn't offer me anything else.  I asked if they could send me the missing part  I meant a replacement part, but he thought I meant the broken piece I had sent in.  He went on to explain that any broken pieces are automatically put in the trash as "scrap."  Okay, makes sense that broken parts are useless if they're going to be replaced anyways.  Except that mine wasn't.  And it is reasonable to assume that some customers will be unwilling to pay for the repairs once they are quoted.  You don't see car body shops throwing out bent fenders before their owners give the OK to do the repairs.  It's just a stupid, stupid policy.  And I said as much.  I felt a bit bad for the guy listening to me, because he has no power over Lenovo's policies.
He put me on hold and tried to see if he could send me a replacement part.  But nope, apparently the bezel is connected to the LCD cover (even though you can see a break in the plastic and my bezel snaps out of place from the cover) and he can't send me that entire set.
I asked if there was anything else he could do for me to placate my anger.  You know, usually a company has some sort of policy to make a customer happier when there is a situation that they can't remedy.  Like when I was flying Alaska Airlines for a 1hr flight and it was delayed 3+ hrs because there was a problem with the door - their customer service team gave me a $150 voucher.  It doesn't take back the 3hrs I spent angry in an airport, but it makes me feel a little bit better about their company and how they value their customers.  The poor guy couldn't do any of that for me.
So I just told him, if he ever had the chance to pass along these words to the higher ups, that the "resolution" to my situation was completely unacceptable.  That Lenovo's warranty should be more specific that it only covers the electrical hardware, and that I was led to believe that my problem fell under the warranty.  But more importantly, Lenovo's policies were not customer-friendly, and that they had lost a customer.
Put simply, Lenovo's customer service should nurture and grow a loyal customer base.  It has done the exact opposite on me.
It just seems like Lenovo doesn't care about the ordinary customer.

  • Where is the Tech Support for Crystal Reports

Where is the technical support for Crystal Reports?  I have just been through one of the worst technical supports circles in my entire career - this phone# to that phone# and only to be told you cannot talk to a Tech Support person.  My dilema for anyone that can help - I am using Crystal Report 2008.  I have mapped to a database in MS Access 2002.  I copied the database to my desktop and created a test report.  I can see the fields in the Field Explorer.  I have dragged the fields onto the report and they are visible in Design View.  I can see the data in the fields when I browse the fields.  In the Preview View I do not see any data what-so-ever.  I have not changed any defaults and have not suppressed or hidden information.  The $1M question:  Why can't I see the data on my report?  I never had the problem when I used Crystal Reports v8.

The datasource shows my database.  I believe that is what you meant.  No data.  IT has asked me to ask ? if in the Control Panel DSN if we need some information there.  I don't have a clue - I am just a report writer and not an IT person.

Is it good to get it touch with Oracle support services to get supports or Self efforts is good.
Some company's are feeling get supports is not good way of approach from the Oracle supports services.
Rather they would keep thier business on hold till they get the supports by themself.the daly will causes in to the business losses because of the time.
And their business production will be less.
By getting Oracle supports you get the solutions faster this helps to increase the productivities high.
Some IT Manages will like to play this role always find a solutions by themself and eaten up the time.

Clearly it is a trade of between high productivity vs time & money.
So now a days companies which i have seen that they will have internal team of SMEs which will try to look into issues and there are certain escalation points from where in you will get some support from Oracle support.
and again this changes from organization to organization not a thumb rule.
