I think I need to restore my MacBook Pro but I am unsure how. When I turn it on, safari and iTunes do not show in the dock there is just question marks in its slot. Please help
Not even had it on in a month and turned it on this morning and my dock is all messed up and I can't even open Finder
Pull the question marks off the Dock and let go, drag new icons of the app down to the Dock from the Applications folder.
Try another restart in Recovery command R.
Run the DiskUtility repair disk and repair permissions

Use the Report a Problem link in the iTunes email receipt you received. Also in-app purchases can be made without the password if you bought the app within the last 15min. You should enable the in-app restriction in Settings.

Applications should not disappear all by themselves.
If they are then that coud indicate serious problems with your hard drive.
Backup everything up as quickly as possible.
Using Disk Utility verify your system disk.

Safari and iTunes will not open on my Macbook Air after Migration Assistant
I did the Migration Assistant via wireless (from Macbook Pro TO Macbook Air) last night and it did work. However, my Safari and iTunes will not open on my Macbook Air now. The error messages are as follows:
Safari: "Safari quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple."
- I tried reopening the app, restarting, and shutting down the computer. Nothing has worked.
iTunes: "The file 'iTunes Library.itl' cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes. Would you like to download iTunes now?"
- I clicked "Download iTunes" but then another message comes up that all my software is up to date.
Any help is very appreciated.Try repairing permissions using Disk Utility.

Is it possible to save a Photoshop project with multiple tabs (inducing images) for later use. Now, when I close Photoshop, it ask to save each tab separately and they are not staying in the project for later usage. Thanks in advance for you help.

You need to do more research before you make purchases like this. You've wasted your money. The ONLY officially unlocked iPhone model sold in the US is the GSM model, and that model is only sold by Apple. That's the model iPhone you should have purchased.

Help! My iPhoto application disappeared and there is only a question mark in its place. I do not have the disks to restore. what do I do??
If yhou have Time Machine running on your Mac go to the Applications folder, enter Time Maching, go back till iDVD is there and restore it.
Otherwise you can contact Apple and for about $10 get replacement disks for hyour Mac. Lastly, you'll have to purchase iLife 09 and do a custom install of iDVD from it.
Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides themes from iDVD 5-7. The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:

You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.
Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar. Select Size = Medium or Large.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

Mac book pro about 4 years old. When you turn on you get the white apple start screen; then a black screen; then no further. On the black screen you can see the pointer, the pointer moves when asked, the pointer gets dark/light with the appropriate keys pressed. Tried turning on/off; also with shift key pressed. Question Mark in Quick Time Please Help :(
On certain websites, such as this one, when I try to play a video, a question mark appears over the quick time logo and it doesnt play the video. Ive searched for answers on here but I cant figure it out
Thanks for the helpNo matter what you do you'll get the same result. Use another app. to view quicktime on the web. and don't get the pro quicktime, it's as bad. I don't use quicktime any more even in itunes. If you down load to an Ipod, use Isquint, 3 full lenth movies in less than 1 gig on Ipod.!! try that with quicktime! Try even copying to anything else than your computer.

My Macbook Pro software was failing and the Apple Store was able to restore it without removing the partition on my hard drive that contained most of my files including all my iTunes content. Initially when I re-setup my library I simply went to file--> add to library. Shortly after I realized that was essentially copying the library to the other portion of the partition because I forgot to change the location of the library. So I deleted the content already copied & then I re-setup the library, by asking it to be pulled from the previous location using this pages advice: iTunes: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file or create a new one
It appeared to work & everything I thought was imported. But on closer inspection, it appears that I have 30gbs less appearing on the status bar in the iTunes app than I do when I pull up the info on the iTunes Music folder in my finder. I'm not sure if this means somehow I have 30gbs of duplicates in my finder folder or if (most likely) I somehow didn't fully import the library from that file. Any advice? Is there a way to restore iTunes to factory settings again & set it up correctly this time?
Also I never actually trashed the original content I accidentally transferred to the other drive but when i skimmed those in my trash bin it appears they ARE indeed in iTunes, so I have no clue what didn't actually import. Any ideas?! I'd greatly appreciate it!You could have all the computers point to the same library but it can't be opened by more than one at any time.
No answer for knowing which library is in use other than selecting it at startup. This question gets asked here occasionally but I don't think it is a high-demand feature since most people have just one library. I guess you could put in an empty playlist with the library name so you have an identifier. -

May I ask, did you ever log in to your app; "Find my iPhone" and go through the registration process? If you did, you would have had to have registered it into "mobileme" or the ancestor of mm, the name escapes me, or you would have had to "iCloud it", the implications of which, I'm just barely scratching the surface (<--ADHD) but that's the kind of thing I would have, and did do, even though I didn't have a clue, what it was for, or understand how to incorperate it into my resources at the time, I'm just a "register here" factory, that registers first and askes questions later. If you did this, I suspect you may have a reason to hope a a GPS kite string that millions of theft targets like us are longing to see, return your device, for Christ Sakes! i do know that, if you did you, can access the signal blip, location from any smart device, with internet access and your log in/password, that you will need to remember, track down, or if all else fails, ask Support to assist, by in my case jogging my memory, until it came to my low watt brain, the log in id, I had used.
