Traute Redlich did you remove Photoshop Elements 8 first using the uninstaller located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder?  What operating system are you using?

You should first uninstall iTunes completely.
This is not an easy task!
Read this article on how to remove iTunes completely

Then download the latest version of iTunes for your Windows Version and install it.

Can you start QuickTime on your computer?
You'll probably have to search for the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and use it to remove QuickTime Player and iTunes. Then download and install the iTunes again.

if you can't find your serial number (http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html), you'll need to contact adobe support (http://www.adobe.com/support/chat/ivrchat.html).

  • Itunes can't run because some of its required files are missing. please reinstall itunes.

I have an old Ipod nano, with great music on it, however no pc to sync it to and I dont want to lose the music.  I downloaded itunes 10.0 (most recent) and was trying to use yamipod to get the music from it, however it says that it works best with older version of itunes. so i uninstalled new itunes, tried to install older version, had issues, uninstalled all apple programs from pc, now when i try to install older version of itunes i get the error message:
itunes cant run because some of its required files are mising. please re-install itunes....which i tried several times and still keep getting this error message...HELP

No, that did not work. I did a system restore on my computer, and then that's why my iTunes reverted back to version 6. Whenever I try to download the newer version, it keeps giving me this error message:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
And then I will just click 'OK.' Then this will come up:
The path 'C:\DOCUME~1\HP_Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\IXP705.TMP\iTunes.msi' cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in a folder from which you can install the product iTunes.
I just don't know what to do. Please...more feedback!!!

That's crazy. A serial number is not required.
Are you certain you chose the correct version to download?

    iTunes 11.0.5 for Windows XP

    Hey jrdeac,
That sounds frustrating! Let's do a full uninstall of iTunes and all related components, then reinstall. The following article explains how to do so for your operating system:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
Note: It is important to remove all of the listed software, in order. Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended effects.
If the issue persists after completely removing, and reinstalling, please see the following article:

  • I have a windows xp SP3 machine that is giving the error "itunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing please reinstall itunes".

It worked fine one day then failed with this error the next.  I tried the repair and a completely fresh install with the same result.  I also tried installing an older version (7.0).  It installed, but would not connect to the server so I ran the upgrade hoping that it would work.  No joy.  Back to the error...  I haven't been able to find any other things that might fix it.  Can anyone help?

  • PS CS4 64-bit (in Web Premium CS4) on Win 7 PC.  I did a duplicate file check on my hdd and deleted dup files. Now I get "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, Please reinstall.."

PS CS4 64-bit (in Web Premium CS4) on Win 7 PC.  I did a duplicate file check on my hdd and deleted dup files. Now when I try to run PS 64-bit I get "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, Please reinstall the application." When I do this, it seems to install correctly until the very end, then it says "Installation Complete With Errors", and when I try to run I get the same 'component missing message'. What can I do? PS 32 bit runs fine. Some of the other applications ib Web Premium say the shortcut has been changed or removed. I appreciate your help...Thank you

Best advice I can think of is to uninstall and run the Clean Script from here.

  • 'Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory. Please reinstall the application.'

I tried opening PS and this message popped up 'Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory. Please reinstall the application.' I cannot find the Reinstall button?

I followed these instructions but cannot find how to reinstall PS. When I click on the membership link the page displays as NOT BEING FOUND.
    Quit all applications.
In the Finder, navigate to the Photoshop application folder.
    Do one of the following:
If the Locales folder is not listed within the application folder, then skip to Step 5.
If the Locales folder is listed within the application folder, then drag the Locales folder to the Trash.
    Choose Finder > Empty Trash.
Start the installer for Photoshop or your edition of the Adobe Creative Suite.
If you purchased boxed software, then insert the installation DVD-ROM into your computer's DVD drive.
If you purchased downloadable software from the Adobe Online Store, then double-click the disk image (.dmg) file or files that you downloaded. (If you no longer have the downloaded disk image file or files, then log in to your account at www.adobe.com/membership to download the installer.)
