I am trying to update my software on my iPad. I am synched to my MacBookPro and I have been instructed to click the " Summary button". Where is it?
If the iPad is connect to the Mac and iTunes is running, you have to click on the iPad name under the device heading first in the sidebar on the left and then you will see the Summary Tab at the top of the iTunes window on the right. Then click on the Summary Tab at the top.
If you don't see the sidebar in iTunes 11 - go to View>Show Sidebar in the iTunes menu at the top of the screen. -

started the newest update for my phone but when it started installing it to the phone, a error message showed up and now my phone is stuck in recovery mode and itunes wont recognize it. what do i do?

Follow the instructions in the article. When you connect your phone again, you may have to press both the home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo reappears, then continue pressing the home button until iTunes detects the phone in recovery mode. -

I plugged my iphone into my computer to get the new update and during it they said that an error occured. after that, my screen showed a plug into itunes screen. i plugged it into itunes and still nothing is happening. my itunes or computer aren't reading that it is plugged in. i try to restart my phone but the same screen still appears. - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -

Is the power cable from the display required to be plugged into my MBP for my display to work. Recently had work done on the display (power supply replaced twice, glass replaced twice). Also since I got it back from repair my system goes to sleep sleeps even though I have it set not to. Frustrated
awesome, so you sound like you know what your going on about. im guessing its a Software fault tbh, because its like the phone is dead.. very upsetting..but with it not being the screen if they dont ask me to replace it and to send it off for repair what can i say as to a loan phone, mind a ease a little bit now i will just now wait for tommorrow to see what happens thank you

When trying to update my software, I get "an error occurred" message, and the update gets cancelled. How can I fix this?
I have found other threads with this problem. The problem is that you are using your iTunes account on another user at the same time you want to update software. Just close iTunes from that user. See > https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4577180?start=0&tstart=0
