so I need a function type of statemen to return or get the slot number of the NI devices on the PXI.
I think I clearly explained.
I would like to get the slot numbers through a software fucntion such that i can use the slot numbers values for some other purpose ,,like configuration ,,

This functionality currently is not built into National Instruments software. You can get the device number, but not the slot numbers programmatically.

This happens even if I simply hover the mouse over bookmarks, not even opening a page.
And waiting for this to happen some times or closing and re-opening seems to make it work ok again.
I've already disabled almost all add-ons (I'm using only one for Flash and NoScript right now), reinstalled Firefox (8.0.1), restoring only the bookmarks from an older version.

I am not duplicating the posting .now i have now change my interface design my interface is not meeting my req ,by this append opreation as you also know that first want to append the records whole day in one file and then next day with same processing i want to over write the file.

I'm assuming you have the ''Firefox'' menu now? If that is the case, try hitting ''Alt'' to temporarily show all your old menu items. If you want to bring them back permanently, right-click on an empty section of the Tab Strip and check ''Menu Bar'' in the pop-up menu. You can also do this in ''Firefox > Options''.

I use a pc. i keep getting a server error messge trying to upload photos to my iPad and iPhone via iCloud. the error states can't update photostream, server error.

uploading worked in the beginning, but in the last few days it has not. how should i proceed.

Go into Settings, iCloud on your iPad & iPhone. Turn streaming on there. I did that when I first set up my phone & iPad & have not had any problems. It will only stream over new photos so take one on your phone & see what happens. I hope that works for you.

How to not append '.PART' to the file name of the currently downloading file, and just download the file with its normal filename

In Windows, when Firefox (I'm currently using 7.0) downloads a file, it appends ''.PART'' to the file name of the currently downloading file and just renames it to its original file name after it finishes downloading.
I sometimes like to watch a currently downloading video file, so it will be better if Firefox just downloads the file to its actual filename (like what Opera does), so I can easily double click the incompletely downloaded file and watch it with the video player assigned to that file extension, rather than the awkward ''Right click -> Open With -> Choose Default Program'' route with .part files.
Does anyone know how to set Firefox to do this?

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox and prevents Firefox from renaming the .part file.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

I had a 30 day trial and purchased the activation code (not the DVD). The "Exploring Aperture" tutorial mentions getting the Sample Library File and Wyoming Folder from the installation disk. Since I don't have an installation disk, does anyone know where I can get the Sample Library File and Wyoming Folder?

I am looking on how to Hide the User Name, Password, and Domain fields which are prepopulated in the MDT wizard via the CS.ini (Not so concerned about the Domain field as I am User Name and Password)
We do need the Computer Name and OU fields to be seen, so skipping the wizard is not a option
The client just does not want these fields to be seen by the end users, they dont want them to even know the account name used for adding the machine to the domain, of course the password is not displayed but it must not be displayed either.
But since we use the fields they must still be fuctional just not seen.

You shouldn't have to edit DeployWiz_Definition_ENU.xml. You should only need to add "SkipAdminPassword=YES" to the CS.ini file and your authentication information.
Example:

When my ipod is plugged into my computer music disappears, sometime it tries to upload songs, clears my playlists, and can't locate the songs files. All the same songs are in my Itunes library on my computer. What can i do?

Indeed, I was unaware of the enormous number of options that can be selected when converting a WORD file to PDF.
I went thru the settings and found the right one for embedding the fonts.

Yes, excuse me. attach a file. I have separate folders on my desktop to organize my word documents, so I'm guessing this might be a part of the problem. When I go to attach one of these documents into gmail, the resulting attachment is another folder icon (not the original organizational folders) with 4 subfolders containing a slew of .xml files reading things like "header.xml" "format.xml" "settings.xml" "style.xml" "contenttype.xml" There are also a few .jpegs and a small folder reading "word" as one of the subfolders.

I need to move my profile to an external drive but the edits I make to the profile.ini file don't seem to be working

I am using a Mac, and need to have my profile be on an external drive. I edit the profile.ini file per the instructions I found here:

but it's not working. I must have the path wrong. Again, I am using a Mac. Here is the info in the profile.ini file:

Do you see anything about the path that looks incorrect? The "My Passport" is the external drive.
Also, if there was an updated disk image for Portable Thunderbird, I could try setting that up but all I can find is a very old one which I tried but it won't update.

The "My Passport" external drive must be mounted somewhere in the file system. That's the path you need to use.
