Just for information in case helps anyone else, I have now accessed the back-up, I tried a different password from memory but it is not the normal iTunes password I use - which is what you'd expect them to be after. Now I don't know how to get the app collection back onto the screen, they aren't opening. Wish I never had upgraded...

THanksCan't address the problem directly, cause even though my iPad4 is Cell+Wi-Fi, I've never put a SIM in it and never had the need to text, SMS or iMessage, from it. When away from the office or home wireless network, I tether it off the iPhone. Skype, both text and video, work just fine thru the Wi-Fi link, though.
HOWEVER, when I was hashing out the contract details to get the iPhone 5 about 14 months ago at Telcel, the representative distinctly mentioned that both Visual Voicemail as well as iMessages would be included in the package and they would be mandatory cause "I was getting a (subsidized) Apple iPhone" on a 24 month leash. Then when the gizmo came out of its box for SIM installation and activation, she went thru the motions of making sure both were working properly. So I assume the carrier has some say in the matter. -
I can't find the AirPlay menu through control centre on iPad mini. I don't have Apple TV. Means I can't stream some content (Netflix is uselessnow)Everything worked Ok but today an error message said I couln't stream video to TV. Fix suggested is turn off mirroring in AirPlay when there is NO MENU for Airplay in iPad mini or iPhone. All support advice keeps on about Apple Tv. I'm NOT USING Apple TV

My iPhone, iPad and iPod are all associated with the same Apple ID. How can I remove the iPod and associate it with a new Apple ID without affecting the data on the other devices (note: there is no data on the iPod I want to keep)?
Very simple. Turn off Find my iDevice, then Tap Settings, General, Erase, Erase all content and settings.

Did you take a look at the new feature Apple - iOS 8 - Family Sharing ?
Apple - iCloud - Family Sharing
Up to now, songs bought from iTunes could only be played by the Apple ID that has been used to buy them.
If you set up Family Sharing, your daughter can also play your songs and use the same contact info as before.
If you don't want to do that, sync the contact info to the address book on your computer, and sync the info back, using iTunes:
Sync your iPhone, iPad and iPod with iTunes using USB
If the iPad already has her Apple ID and contact info on it, restore the phone from the latest iPad backup. -

y iPad2 is frozen, I am trying to download the upgrade software but fails after a while, how can I solve the issue. I have not upgraded the iPad 2 since I bought it.
Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode:
1. Turn off iPad
2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
5. Release the Home button
6. Open iTune
7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad -

Trying to upgrade iPad software to newest version. It downloads but stops while backing up and says not enough space on hard drive to back up if i continue all media on iPad will be lostor deleted. Can I get it back after upgrade by just synching or can I set it to backup to an external drive? Thanks for any help. I only use the laptop for itunes now as it has such little space left.
I would recommend deleting contents off your hard-drive to make space (how much is left..you should be having 15% free as a general practice) and backing up the phone prior to upgrading.

Any advice?Nope. You obviously didn't read (or didn't remember) the User Guide. I will include a link for you. If you use the iPhone as Apple recommends (so that you do NOT experience data loss), frequent backups are advised, as are synching contacts/calendars with an appropriate cloud service or computer-based contact manager like Outlook.

I have two iPads.. an iPad and an ipad 2. I registared my new ipad 2 and now my old ipad is will not let me log on and is telling me that my e-mail address is already in use. how can you use the same e-mail address for multiple ipads?
And by using the same Apple ID you can also share purchases. If you have a different Apple ID for each iPhone then you can't share purchases.

Your notes should be stored in your backup, so if you have backed up the iPad and that backup does contain those notes that you deleted, you can try restoring from your backup. If you haven't backed up the iPad since you created those notes, they are gone.
If you backup with iCloud only, restoring from backup involves erasing the device and then going through the setup all over again and finally restoring from the iCloud backup. This article explains the process quite clearly.

If you backup with iTunes, connect the iPad to your computer, launch iTunes and right click on the device name on the left and select - Restore from Backup. But before you do that .... turn off auto sync in iTunes - without connecting the iPad - launch iTunes and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices and check the box at the bottom of that window in order to turn off auto sync.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least Ten seconds... (But can take Longer)... until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
