I use Acrobat X1 Pro. When I launch it I get these pop up about buying or trying DC. I pressed the privacy link to stop it, but it hasn't. It says Acrobat Application Manger. It literally overrides launching Acrobat x1. I use a macbook pro with yosemite.

I use Acrobat Pro X1. I use a macbook Pro with Yosemite. Was working fine. Last time I launched the software, I got this Abrobat Application Manager poping up and overriding the Acrobat launch asking to buy or try Acrobat DC. I can't make it go away, even when I press the privacy link. Please don't tell me this is some malware bug. Should I uninstall the current AX1Pro and reinstall it. This is very frustrating.

Don't worry I've sorted it! I just had to turn off Reminders as well in iCloud. Calendar then worked fine, even when I turned Calendar and Reminders back on.

Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.

It's not malware. It's a JavaScript scam that only affects your web browser, and only temporarily.
1. Some of those scam pages can be dismissed very easily. Press command-W to close the tab or window. A huge box will pop up. Press the returnkey and both the box and the page will close. If that doesn't happen, continue.
2. From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and uncheck the box marked Enable JavaScript. Leave the preferences dialog open.
Close the malicious window or tab.
Re-enable JavaScript and close the preferences dialog.
3. If the Preferences menu item is grayed out, quit Safari. Force quit if necessary. Relaunch it by holding down the shift key and clicking its icon in the Dock. From the menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data

Thinking that I may have gone into "Settings" and set something wrong, I decided to reset to the default settings. So, in "Settings" I chose reset everything. Now, when I turn my iPad on all I get is a black screen with the picture of a white apple and a white line below it. Nothing else works. What can I do? Do I need to send this back to Apple to be restored?

You will hopefully be able to restore it yourself. It sounds like you erased all constant and settings rather than resetting all settings. But I'm basing my theory on the fact that you are seeing the Apple logo with the white progress bar (the white line) on the screen. That's what you would see if the software was being reinstalled and then it stopped on you. If that is what happened, you need to restore again and most likely need to use recovery mode.

However ...... If you are seeing the white line when you turn the iPad, let it go for twenty minutes or so, before you try restoring again. There is possibility that the software is still be installed and it can take a while before you see that white line move at all indicating that progress is being made.
Frankly, I don't think that the software is still being installed, but since you didn't say specifically how long the iPad has been like this, it could just be that the software hasn't finished installing yet. If you know better - meaning that it's been like this for hours or longer, then you do need to restore the device.

Getting error when trying to end date the element links

Since updating my ipad to IOS 6.0.1, when I move my apps around and press the home button to stop them shaking, it switches my ipad off and back on again

SInce updating my ipad 2 to IOS 6.0.1, when I try to rearrange my apps and press the home button to stop them shaking it turns my ipad off, then it shows the apple sign on the screen and comes back on, but the apps are back in the places they was before I tried to move them. Anyone any ideas how to stop this?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Growl has a long development history, is popular and performs a useful function. Many of your background applications use it send messages to your screen that tell you all kinds of useful things (if you're interested). Some applications ask you if you want them to install Growl for you - you or someone using your Mac may have answered 'yes' a long time ago, or it may have occurred without your permission. In any event, you might set it uyp and give it a try for a while, I think it will grow on you. If not, just remove it.

It works fine with the safe mode. So it must be something to do with <i>checkCompatibility 1.3</i> or <i>Google Toolbar for FireFox 7.1.20110512W</i>.
Both are necessary to run Google Toolbar on Firefox, and the fact is Google Toolbar is too convenient to be removed. So I have bookmarked a couple of blank pages and I right-click them to open new tabs. But it is so tiresome.
I hope this problem will be fixed in the next version. FireFox without Google Toolbar is just a useless browser.

Delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
You will have to redo App Tabs and Tab Groups after deleting sessionstore.js.
