I've currently got Firefox 3.6, the automatic update doesn't pick up the newer version, my question is if I use the Firefox v7 installer, will it erase my current settings and saved passwords or bookmarks?

No it will not. Your settings, passwords, bookmarks and other data are stored in another location so they won't be harmed.

I downloaded the new version of pages about a month ago. Today I tried to open documents that I created and saved with the new version and received a message that I needed to download the new version. The app store shows the download. HUH?!?
I'm not sure what you mean by it making accessing files more complicated. I have both Pages 4.3 & Pages 5.1 icons in my Dock as well as Numbers 2.3 & Numbers 3.1. I continue to use the iWork '09 versions for my everyday needs. As long as the new versions are in your Applications folder & the '09 versions in the iWork '09 folder, Software Update will not have a problem updating them even if Apple should come out with a new update for the '09 versions.
Because I have moved the new versions to an external drive & renamed the apps because I want '09 to be the default apps, I do have to remember to move them back to my applications folder & restore the original names before updating. But since you like the new versions this "complication" doesn't apply to you. -
When trying up date adobe flash player from 10.1.102.64 to new version 10.2.152.26 i get an error message, "Installer will automatically continue when those conflicting applications are closed: [circle w/line through it] Mozilla firefox."
Save the Flash installer to the desktop and close Firefox via File > Exit Firefox.<br />

I have changed my Computer. Essentially, the M/B, CPU, RAM, HDD, etc. I still have my old HDD and Mozilla was installed there. I have a lot of saved passwords on that Firefox. I have started Firefox from there itself. Yet, FF doesn't find those passwords and other things. These are very important as they are passwords for Income Tax, Service Tax, VAT websites of various clients. I am a tax consultant. So, If I cant recover those, I'm dead. If you have removed your personal data when uninstalling Firefox then the Firefox profile folder that store your Firefox personal data has been removed.
If you do not have a backup of the files in this folder then your only option is to try to recover this data with an undelete utility like Recuva.

ITunes 9 - Home Sharing Settings and Saved Game Data?
The new "Home Sharing Settings" feature to automatically transfer applications from one home computer to another is great. However, it seems like there is a huge omission with this feature if you can't transfer your game settings and saved data when you use this option as a way to change computers to sync an iTouch or iPhone.
Here's my scenario: originally had iTunes on a Windows PC to purchase and sync up my iTouch. Recently bought another iMac and want to use it as my "master" computer to sync up my iTouch. Used the Home Sharing Settings feature to quickly copy all of my songs (with ratings) and apps from the PC to the Mac. Everything great so far.
Purchased a few more apps in the iTunes store on the iMac. Plugged in the iTouch to copy the new apps, but of course it wants to delete everything and start over (to be expected I guess). But with that I assume all of my saved game data in my 50+ apps will be lost!
Any suggestions?UPDATE: I've now authorized my laptop with my fiance's itunes account and my personal iTunes account, this is key.
I'm now able to transfer songs from either her laptop or my iMac (where my music is stored for now) as long as the current logged-in Home Sharing account is active. So it's basically like logging into an ftp server, only one connection allowed at a time.
So just turn off Home Sharing and then turn it back on again, re-enter the other systems iTunes account info and there you go, you can transfer from that one now. Of course this would be simpler if you were just merging two computers/accounts instead of adding in a 3rd laptop like my experiment. You should just have to make sure all computers involved (up to 5) are authorized for all the iTunes accounts involved.
And yes using the settings button with in the home sharing window, you should be able to automatically sync any new purchases from the current shared account, music, movies, apps, etc. -

Each time I connect my iphone to my MAC I get a message that there is a newer version of iPhoto, but when I select the link, I am taken to the Apple webpage and get a message that the page I'm looking for is not available. There is no "deactivate" function and the technical support person I chatted with recommended I come here. Can I just use the serial number again? How can I deactive? Has anyone else run into this? How can I get Dreamweaver 8, which is no longer being activated by Adobe, on a new computer? Is it even worth doing or do I need to get a new version. What are the killer features I'm missing?

I have a new Mac Pro. I want to use my old Mac Pro as a storage drive for photos and old documents, linked to my new Mac Pro. How do I set up the old computer? Both computers have OS X10.9.3. Currently they are connected by a Firewire 800 cable.
You certainly could keep the old Mac Pro in Firewire mode (hold down the T key on its keyboard as you boot) to show its drives on the new MP. This is basically as fast as putting the drives into a Firewire enclosure.
Or you could boot it normally and share its files over the network using the Sharing panel of System Preferences. If you turn on both File and Screen Sharing, you don't even need to have a monitor attached - you can do all administration using screen sharing. However, this method requires that you open all files over the network, which will be slower than the direct-connect method above, and may also not work with all applications.

Consider 10.8 (not 10.7) when it's released, because 10.7 and 10.8 will require a new investment in software and newer third party hardware as it requires newer drivers the old machines won't have. (forced upgrade because of software, really nice of them)

Are you launching Pages from an icon in your Dock? Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there.

I had deleted my Apps Icon from the phone as I was trying to update the new version iOS4.3.
However, after deleteing the Icon, I am not able to install the Apps Messenger again because I am not able to use the IOS.4.3 diagnostic password sent via email.

MichaelThat situation went from inconvenient to complicated quickly. Wait for any pending orders to drop off, wait for things to clear up, wait till your upgrade comes up and then upgrade when your contract is fulfilled. I would have suggested a replacement phone, I know, with only a month left why couldn't you just upgrade early, but these situations where people try to upgrade early always end horribly and once a phone order starts, it almost cannot finish until something winds up shipped received and returned. Sorry this happened the way it did. Definitely not efficient.
