I've just upgraded Aperture and seem to have lost all the folders and albums. How can I retrieve them?
When I opened Aperture a dialogue box appeared suggesting I upgrade. The upgrade was done, and now all the folders and albums previously in Aperture have disappeared. How can I retrieve them?

When you opened your new Version of Aperture you probably created a new, empty Aperture Library.
Do you remember where your original Aperture Library is located? Usually it resides in your "Pictures" folder, and is named something.aplibrary. If you do not remember where it is, search with Spotlight for ".aplibrary".
Quit Aperture, if it is running, then select your old Aperture Library and double click it to open it. This will launch Aperture on your correct library, and you should see all your projects and albums again.

I also experienced loss of important archived voicemails on my Iphone on two occasions within the last 12 mos:
1. after upgrading my Iphone 4S to an Iphone 5 using Itunes backup and then erasing my Iphone 4s. I lost all my voicemails older than 90 days (ATT is my carrier). I was able to recover the old voicemails by restoring my Iphone 4s from my Itunes backup and holding onto that device for reference.
2. again, six mos later after restoring a new Iphone 5 using a recent ITunes backup after water damage to my first Iphone 5. Nobody in my local Apple store or on Apple phone support, including a "senior techniciaan" had any useful knowledge to assist me with this frustrating issue. Ultimately, I spent many hours researching this myself. Apparently, there is a bug in the Iphone 5 OS when restoring from ITunes. I don't know if this problem also occurs after restoring from an ICloud backup. However, I found that Iphone voicemails are available for a limited period 30-90 days through your phone carrier ie. ATT, Verizon, etc but more importantly, ALL voicemails are archived on an ITUNES backup regardless of age assuming you didn't delete them off your IPhone before last backing up your device. So, if you lost or damaged your IPhone but have an ITunes backup, all you need is an ITunes extractor, unfortunately not available through APPLE. Apple reps are not authorized to discuss non-apple issued software even if they're aware. There are several ITunes extractors available for music, photos, SMS files etc but most don't also have the capability of opening the embedded voicemails. Happily, using this software, I successfully extracted from my ITunes backup file ALL my voicemails old and current, using www.backuptrans.com/itunes-backup-extractor.html (Mac and Windows versions available). A life-saver! -

Connect phone to computer.
Select Restore.
Tell iTunes which of the available backup files to use, let iTunes restore it.

I have music loaded from cd's. They were intact after each sync. After a iTune upgrade, I lost all the music at sync. Can I restore them from old backup in iCloud ?
Unless you'd signed up to iTunes Match then they won't be in the Cloud, only music purchased from iTunes (if you are in a country where music can be re-downloaded) will be there. Have you not still got it on your computer and/or on a backup which you can use to sync it back to the iPad ?

Are they still listed on your device when you go to Settings>iCloud>Storage>Numbers? If so, they should still be in iCloud but you may need to contact support to find out why the Numbers app isn't able to access them: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/.

I have an iPhone 4 and plugged it into itunes on my computer for the first time. Only to discover my sister has obviously plugged hers into my itunes account and now I have lost all my photos and numbers. Please help me!!
It can't do that by itself. You had to click through several prompts telling it to restore it from a backup of an old phone for that to happen.
If the phone was not backed up to iCloud before this happened, or to another computer, then the data is gone. There is no way to recover it. -
While I was updating my ipod touch there was an error and it said I needed to restore my ipod. I restored it from backup but I seem to have lost all my pictures that I had stored on there. Is there any way to get them back?

I have Outlook on my PC and thought it would be smart to have my contact in the Clouds where my ipad, work pc, home pc would be updated etc. So I was asked I though to copy my contacts from Outlook to iCloud. Instead it moved them and in doing so lost all the settings like Categories and reset how they are listed (used first name because have a lot of drs, phds, msws etc) now listed with last name and so I have a lot of people with md as last name. This is an organization list and is about 2000 contacts so having to go back and fix it will be a nightmare and unnecessary work.
Is there any way I can fix this easily instead of correcting each contact one at a time?

My email seems to have lost all the saved messages
Email stated it was updating earlier. Now it seems to have lost all my old messages.
It's a Finder feature, related to Quick Look. You can hit the space bar in the file list to get a preview.
If that doesn't work, you may have an issue witha preference file or similar. I find rebuilding the launch databse works quite well resilving tis kind of thing, as does trashing Finder preferences -

Please help!I lost my contacts too after upgrading. The numbers remained under recent calls and messages, but there was nothing in my contacts list. If you synced to the iCloud, you can retrieve your contacts by turning off syncing contacts to the cloud… save the (nonexistent) contacts on the phone. Then turn syncing to the cloud back on. It worked for me… they all returned and repopulated the names to the messages and recent calls.

I have owned my iPad Mini for 9 months now and am still a novice great granny! Today I cannot use Safari as it has just gone blank. I cannot retrieve emails, again the screen is blank and all my photographs have disappeared. Can anyone help me to retrieve this.
Reset your iPad and see if that fixes this.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -
I finally managed to get through the process of moving files and catalog from Lightroom 2.7 on a PC to Lightroom 4 on my Mac. I think I did it all correctly and all my file and previews and some tagging seems to be there. Two things are lost
1 - Most importantly, the development history on my files. I can see the edited versions in the previews, but as soon as I click on it, I can see that I lose all the changes I had made before. When I look at Development history, it just says "Imported on...." I'd love to get this back. That is a ton of processing work just lost because I switched computers.
2 - The collection names seem to have come over, but they are all empty. This is also a lot of work lost, though not as important as #1

What kind of data are you referring to? And when you say "switched .. to store data on icloud..." are you talking about performing backups to icloud vs. to computer or are you in some app that provides a choice of saving data to icloud or to a computer?
